I love period/costume dramas with sword fighting – the type where you fly about completely defying the laws of physics (and there was a good deal of that here) so it was right up my alley. There is a good balance of elements – intrigue, sword fighting, battle for the throne and of course, a touch of romance. The movie is also visually appealing with actors and actresses who are handsome and beautiful with intricate costumes and stunning scenery.

However, the ending was rather abrupt and made it feel like this was a pilot with more to come. The movie shows much promise and I’m trusting those that put this together so meticulously are planning a nice long series to satiate my thirst or I will be devastated! Perhaps this is a movie to be fully appreciated only by those who know the game.
