If you're looking for a Drama that has a really good plot line... keep looking.
I truly enjoyed this drama for the main couple, specifically Hong Yi's character Qiu Yue. The perfect anti-hero, his character was the best developed out of all of them, and a lot of credit to Hong Yi, because his portrayal was immaculate. Qiu Yue is the ruthless leader of Qiuyue cavity, who finds himself falling for the ever so adorable Chun Hua. I liked Chun Hua's character in the beginning because she was so unabashed and naive. She's so unapologetically herself that you kinda love her like a little sister. I initially began watching for Zhao Lu Si because I LOVED her in "I Hear You" but Hong Yi really stole the show here. Qiu Yue truly love Chun Hua and only wants to be loved in return and sometimes, it's heartbreaking. The chemistry between them is undeniable and raw that you keep wanting more of it. and yes... they have a lot of cute kiss scenes
*Honourable Mention: Valley Legend Lord Fu Lou and his wife You Si had me in tears :'((((
*Yes, there is a happy ending

Story:
I mean.. it wasn't great and they left a couple of things unturned, but regardless it was pretty decent. It's what you expect from a drama between Yin and Yang. I will say that I really appreciated how they got into politics and the morals of right and wrong which was nice. I'll be honest, Xiao Bai and his groupies annoyed me to the point of skipping their parts every time they came on screen. Trust me, you won't miss much of the story if you do, it's pretty predictable.

Acting:
The mains were great Li Hong Yi, you have a new fan, Zhao Lu Si, I remain dedicated to your works.
The actor for Xiao Bai kinda fell a little flat for me, because he was a little too stiff for my taste. I realised that his dubbed voice didn't really suit his style so it looked a little off to me the entire time. The supporting cast was also good. I really enjoyed young master Qin and Lady Leng more towards the end.

Music: didn't really pay attention to it

Rewatch: I always know I'll rewatch a drama when I search up compilation videos of them. So yes, a definite rewatch

Altered my brain Chemistry.

I finished watching this a week ago, and not a second has gone by where I haven't thought about this show. This show has INFILTRATED my regularly scheduled daydreams because it is so perfect. All I want is a world where Wan Sen and Bei Xing are happy. I want nothing else in life. This is the con of open endings. I can not WAIT for the movie to come out because I need to know if Bei Xing succeeded.

The show continues to shine outside of our main couple as Bei Xing and Wan Sen both manage to create wholesome friendships with the other characters. Gao Ge, Chao Yang, and Mai zi are amazing support characters, and I love how each of them manages to find their way back to each other even in the original timeline. I think what makes this drama even more satisfying is that Bei Xing realizes her worth outside of Zhan Yu and how the drama even takes it further to where Zhan Yu begins to chase her. Nothing has been as satisfying as watching him soften up to Bei XIng and pine for her the way she pined for him originally. I also love that his affection for her wasn't just jealousy or possession, it was true admiration and affection for Bei Xing.

Wan Sen's character is also just everything. The character writing was so beautiful. In every timeline, all he cared about was Bei Xing, and being her guardian angel. I'm so glad Bei Xing came to love him and cherish him... I just hop the movie makes answers reveals the answers I so desperately seek.

Dada remains superior

Oh Lord, where do I begin? Crystal Liu is truly one of the most beautiful actresses I have ever seen. She looked so elegant in her outfits as she returns to her roots in this beautifully shot historical drama.

Set in the Song Dynasty "A Dream of Splendor" follows the friendship of three women who have been scorned in love. I truly love the sisterhood that continues to develop despite the conflict that each individual faces in finding their significance in society. Futhermore, the CHEMISTRY between Gu Qian Fan and Pan Er is ... no words... I truly wanted them to fall in love, I was kicking my feet and twirling my hair during their scenes...

This was something I watched while I was baking/cooking so I would say it was an easy watch.

I don't typically watch coming of age dramas/dramas where it takes place in college. Often I run into a lot of cliches and stereotypes, and usually, it's the same old bad boy -good girl/Dom-sub type of relationships, but that's not the case in this drama. A friend of mine kept urging me to watch this drama telling me over and over again about how I'd like it, and I decided to give it a go cause why not? Its only 24 episodes long -perfect for my fellow binge-watchers- with each episode being about 32 minutes long. It does tend to go into the lives of the sub-characters, but all the sub-characters are pretty lovable and relatable. the cinematography is also very beautifully shot. One thing I liked is the fact that the designated second male lead isn't overbearing and pining over our female lead, nor does he hate the male lead for pursuing her (very wholesome). Anyways let's get to it~

Synopsis:
Luo Zhi has always considered herself to be a side character in the life of her crush Sheng Huainan. She harbours a secret unrequited love for him that spans over her high school years following into the second year of university. Along the road, Luo Zhi does little favours for Sheng Huanian for his benefit. He is entirely unaware of her existence, until the second year of university when they end up sharing a class. Gradually, Sheng Huanian unravels the extent of Luo Zhi's affection and ends up returning it. However, Luo Zhi and Sheng Huanian share an experience that could potentially endanger their relationship.

Happy Ending: Yes

Story:
The setting is on a college campus in 2008 and I feel that this story is most relatable to the life of an everyday college student. No extravagant trips in the middle of the week, top students cheating, spending all your time thinking about either school, homework or sports and (my favourite) cute love lines.
Luo Zhi is very quiet and rationale for a lead character. One thing I love about her character is that her traits are consistent from beginning to end. She seems very cold and distant but it's obvious that she cares about the people around her and is very loyal to them. She is probably my favourite female protagonist because of how realistic her reactions are to events. When Huainan has trouble trusting her based on false accusations she stands firm in her stance that if Huainan can't trust her then she doesn't want to be with him no matter how much she loves him. It can get a little frustrating because you just want them to be together, but like I said her character is consistent.
The story does go into the love lives of supporting character showing how each of them deals with unrequited love. Bai Li's love line is probably my favourite, only because it is so relatable. Bai Li's storyline dives into the issues of a relationship of convenience, and the consequences of entering a one-sided relationship. There is also our adorable second male lead Mingrui who always loses the girl to Sheng Huainan but in a strange twist doesn't become envious of his pal. I adore Mingrui because he prioritises his friendships over his personal crushes. I'm happy that he ends up finding a girl because his story of unrequited love follows the "if at first, you don't succeed, try again" trope.

Cast:
I am a stickler for watching dramas with actors I know or have seen as a supporting role, but this was new since I didn't know any of the actors. They all seem pretty new to the game, but they do a really good job at executing their characters well. Luo Zhi and Shen Huainan seem a little awkward but I adore their awkward chemistry because they're both pretty interpersonal and a little introverted.

Music:
Honestly, the music didn't really stand out to me, but it did a really good job of creating the aesthetic/atmosphere of the drama.

Rewatch Value: I've watched this 5 times already and I love it every time.

Anyways give this drama a try and i hope you guys like it :)~

Really good background noise

I never condone cheating in any capacity but this movie really highlights how serious emotional infidelity can be. Once you check out of a relationship emotionally then no amount of physical presence can really bring you back. This movie is very realistic about how relationships are very fragile and can be broken by just about anything. I will say, I think her abortion really affected Da eun more than we see. Jang Hyuk's reaction to her news was probably everything she needed to realize he had checked out. Just saying.

I, unfortunately, saw the spoilers before I watched so it didn't surprise me but I enjoyed the movie still.

A Sweet Quick Watch

A poor painter finds herself married to a general after her face is swapped with the Prime minister's daughter. As she learns to accept her new identity she finds her loyalty being split between the general who saved her life years ago and her sister who is imprisoned by the prime minister's daughter.

The show is really easy to watch. I watched it on Viki and it was 8 episodes with each episode being 20 - 30 minutes long. I watched it all in one evening and it was super cute. Shi Qi is intelligent and loyal not only to her sister but also the general. I love how the general realises almost immediately that she is not Shen Qin and chooses to put his trust in her. Since the show is so concentrated the plot escalates pretty quickly, and the plot twist at the end.... this was so good and was honestly better than a lot of the bigger name dramas that have been released this year

Rom-Com Era is back in full swing

I have been in such a slump with the recent rollout of Kdramas, because a lot of them were just too much. This one on the other hand is such a cute light watch. It has only ten episodes so you can binge it during one of those late nights where you realise its 2am and you aren't going to get any type of sleep. The story has a simple theme that is reminiscent of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice and I think that is truly what captured my attention. The cast being 30s-40s also made this a little bit more refreshing. I definitely enjoyed how the female lead was very sex-positive. Overall a fun time and the OSTs are all really cute.

Ghost Whisperer KR version

Okay, so the premise made it sound like we were going to get some Ghost Whisperer Melinda Gordon action, and that truly captured my attention as it was my favourite show growing up. The main difference is that this show is significantly more lighthearted and doesn't always focus on Baek Dong Joo. The show does a really good job of balancing heavy elements of death and grief with some light-hearted romance. I enjoyed that every character was able to have some type of spotlight outside of their development with Baek Dong Joo.

Kim Tae Hee is the epitome of pathetic (the good kind) as he interacts with Dong Joo and watching them learn and heal together is what made me continue to watch even though the drama went a little off Script.

The ending is extremely bittersweet with an emphasis on Bitter. I would recommend watching this if you're looking for a good heartfelt drama. And I was crying by the end of a lot of the episodes

Soothing and Sweet

Summer Strike is one of my favorite dramas of the year, and exactly what I needed: short, sweet, and fulfilling.
The story follows Yeo Reum and her desire to leave the busy city life to fulfill her mother's wish of wanting to do nothing. In her grief, Yeo Reum makes some drastic changes to her life that she would otherwise not have the courage to do. I truly love Yeo Reum as I resonate with many of her characteristics, such as people-pleasing, conflict avoidance, and introversion. However, she isn't a complete pushover as she learns to stand up for herself and people in the community.

A couple of reasons why I love this drama is because I love the theme of Family of Choice, and this drama pulled incessantly on my heartstrings as Yeo Reum gradually found her significance/confidence. It also focuses on how the adults in our lives can truly fail us at times (Bom's father, Dae Bom's Father/professor, Jae Hoon's parents/aunt) but that isn't always the end all be all. The little safety bubble that they created with each other and how the characters learned to lean on one another was just chef's kiss.

Although we see a lot of interaction between Dae Bom and Yeo Reum, we do NOT get a kiss at the end, and for once I was fine with that. I felt that the story was complete regardless of a kiss. Dae bom and Yeo reum have done so much to prove that they admire and are willing to be there for one another, and they were moving so slowly that it made sense that the drama didn't end with a kiss. I enjoyed it regardless.

If you're looking for a low key drama to binge this is definitely the one to watch

An Uno Reverse on Cliche tropes

Warning: if you want tro watch this drama please make sure you’re looking for something light and silly
Warning:: I have spoilers written in the second half of the review

Synopsis: Lu Faning is an overbearing, pushy CEO. She stereotypically steps into a role dominated by men, and she does it well, but behind the assertion and dominance is an weight of guilt that is her driving force to fulfil three needs/wishes before the age of 30.
1. To be married
2. To have a child
3. To establish Infinity.
Enter our male lead Ling Rui, who is a sweet, sensitive doctor dedicated to his craft and his family, and the perfect foil to our female lead. Once she sets her sights on him there is no turning back. She manages to persuade him to enter a one year marriage contract in order to fulfill her three wishes, but things never go as planned.
Happy Ending: Yes!

Review:
This is something I decided to watch when I was super bored, and it did just the trick for me. I liked all the characters and their relationships with one another. I think Lu Faning has to be one of my overall favourite dramaland characters, because she does a complete 180 in the second half of the drama. We see her going from impulsive and dominant to reserved and compliant. What I really liked about her character is that she was 3 dimensional and well thought out. Yes she was overbearing, but she was a hardworker and dedicated to Infinity. She was bossy, but not cruel, observant and often very rewarding. In a role where most male leads would be creepy she didn’t give that vibe to me. Maybe it was because they introduced her issues to us earlier on and made it obvious why she chose to pursue Ling Rui? also maybe it was because she was possessive but not controlling and there wasn’t a power imbalance in their relationship, just a financial one?

Anyways… Ling Rui is still a good male lead character. Him falling for LFN first is so funny to me, because it was SO easy. I love how he had feelings for her but still held her off in order to let their relationship mature naturally. It was so cute how he’d fight with Simon and then block LFN attempts at babymaking. I do love how their relationship progresses in the first half. The other relationship are cute too. I love how PingPing gradually becomes LFN’s friend, and how they. come to cherish one another. Cai Si Yu friendship is also cute too, you see how LFN is strict, but still playful. LFN as an older sister is just as refreshing, seeing how she completely supports LFY because she wants him to be happy, sincerely. I can see why she has such a complicated relationship with her dad, but he silently supports her while she still is resentful towards him, and i do like that they resolve it in a way.

[SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!!]
I expected Gao Er Fan to be the main antagonist, but I couldn’t hate him. His character was so pitiful and I can UNDERSTAND why he did what he did. I hated him in the moment, because it became a catalyst for the worst. In this half we really see LFN selfless nature, and how the trauma of her sister’s death effects her. She sees herself as a burden to everyone, and blames herself for holding everyone back. My heart broke for her in that moment as her only plausible solution was for her to take herself out of the narrative. Then six years pass and she has a child!! YouYou is adorable and I love his banter with LFN. She has obviously been a good mom the last five years but he really wants to see his dad. I think LFN set herself up by leaving with that stuffed pillow. Youyou could only come to one conclusion, that the only man for mom was dad.
EP25 and on is mostly them making up, and I love how the tables have turned. LFN is shy and trying to hide from him but Ling Rui is taking front and center. I didn’t like that his way of getting LFN to stay was threatening her with a custody battle. I loved how LFN didn’t assume that he still loved her and decided to work with him to keep Youyou. It made his battle more pleasant to watch. Them not changing numbers after 6 years and revealing that it hadn’t changed was SO hilarious. Like damn you really could’ve called her, but you didn’t. I skimmed through the other romantic plots cause I didn’t really care that much about them, but they were still cute in a way. Cai Si Yu and Little Grandpa, made me laugh so much with their fighting.

Anyways…. This was a super light drama to watch and I’d definitely rewatch it because it’s so cute and I think Zhou Yu Tong and Simon Gong are so cute together.

I've watched several dramas and Tv shows in the last few weeks of the Quarantine. I've finished a few and dropped a lot within the first five episodes. I was getting very tired of certain drama clichés that no longer attracted me the way they used to. I happened to stumble upon this drama after looking through the recommendations of some other dramas I had watched, and needless to say, this drama truly hit the spot. Every character in this drama is so well written that they're relatable. As the drama progressed I was able to understand and the perspective of every character and why they acted the way they did in certain situations. I think what spoke to me was the story of the female lead. She grew up poor and wasn't a standout student, so she had to make a means for herself. I relate with her on a personal level because as an audience member you see how her environment impacted the growth of her self esteem and how her trauma affects her relationship with Yan Mo. Sorry, Bai Qian and Ye Hua, Sorry Feng Jiu and Dong Hua, you have been replaced by the likes of Zhao Qiao Yi and Yan mo, and Zhao Guanchao and Hao Wu Yi.

Story: The plot was immaculate. The writers did a great job of balancing the focus between the female lead and every other character. As an audience member, you see her relationships with Yan Mo (love interest), Guan Chao (Twin Brother), and Hao Wu Yi (best friend) + Fei Dachuan develop into healthy supportive ones. The story also offers insight into each character so we get a full understanding of action and consequence. My heart broke so many times for these characters because every single one of them is so lovable but broken. They way they all support each other is so beautiful, it makes me feel better knowing that the book which this drama is based on is an autobiography. Another thing I appreciated that it opened up with them being a couple so I didn't have to worry too much about getting myself into another tragedy. Acting: HOLY COW100/10. Every single actor did an impeccable job portraying their characters. The chemistry between the siblings was so heartfelt and endearing that I found myself tearing up whenever they would have a heart to hearts. This was my first Janice Wu drama but I've only heard good things about her so I'll have to check out more of her work. Eden Zhao is such the ideal brother, boyfriend, best friend, son image in this drama, I often found myself wanting a man like him to appear in my life. Zhang Yu Jian was so in control of his features as Yan Mo, I have to hand it to him. Every single expression had a purpose and he was always able to keep that stone-cold image. A lot of times it was his eyes that gave away his emotions and that makes him so much the better. Ma Li was a pleasant surprise because she was so cute and endearing I loved her character chubby puppy face.

Music: It fits well with the drama

I would rewatch… as I'm writing this, I'm rewatching it! Enjoy!!~

I'm a mess

I waited 3 weeks to let this drama settle and I can honestly say that this drama left me a wreck. I can not stress the happy emptiness I felt after completing the final episode. What I loved most was how fulfilled I felt at the end. I felt like it was properly resolved, there were no loose ends that needed to be tied, and I felt that everything was as it needed to be.

Unlike other slice-of-life dramas, I felt that the five of them truly were friends and could've existed as friends outside of the relationships. I love how we got to see a little bit of their stories and their struggles without it needing to be an elaborate plot. It was still as poignant and relatable. All five of them sincerely hold a soft spot in my heart and honestly, in the last few weeks I've rewatched it multiple times. It's super light and easy to follow, and i watched it following the mess of The legend of Anle

I tried, I really tried.

I dropped this show after episode 18.

I tried my best to like it, I really did. Zhou Yu Tong is easily becoming one of my favorite C-drama actresses and Jasper Liu is so cute. I was so looking forward to this pairing and was hoping for the best but the storyline/plot is ridiculously slow paced and messy. They would jump around during the episode which would break up the flow of dialouge and the setting. This was definitely a production issue. The episodes were drawn out for far too long and the climax was so underwhelming. My main criticism of Zhou Yu Tong is the fact that she can NOT kiss. I despise fish eye/ wide eyed kisses when it’s been the third or fourth kiss, especially paired with Jasper’s reputation of being THEE C-drama kisser. I actually liked his character the most out of all of them. Lying is something I would never condone outside of texts/production. In real life a relationship founded on lies is not ideal, but here it was the main plot so I let it slide… this is a work of fiction afterall. However, the way they had Bai Ling Ling forgive him was so shallow :/ I felt like we really could have had a great female lead in the making, but the writers truly did her dirty with her (lack of) character development. And the way they DRAGGED the second male lead as a love interest, I was beginning to resent him, when he could’ve been a good love rival. What made me drop the show finally was seeing that asshole who confessed to Bai Ling Ling again. I knew the plotline took a major tank after that.

Listen… I’ve had my fair share of bad dramas, but this one TOOK the cake.

I hope they have Jasper and Zhou Yu Tong pairing in a better drama cause they deserved more than this shit storm.

GL Tunnel Vision

Started this drama coincidentally because I thought Sun Yi Han was pretty, and I ended up loving it. I didn't even know it was supposed to be a GL until I started shipping Youyi and Wei Wei, and hoping that Youyi didn't go back to her scumbag of a husband. This show was really fun to watch and I thoroughly enjoyed it... except for the last episode. I hope season 2 comes soon because it's been two weeks and I am still hung up on this drama. I will be rewatching it after I finish my current drama because it truly was a breath of fresh air. Sorry y'all, but I just love pretty women.

Older Men are in

So I'll be honest. I was a little uncomfortable with the age gap when I first read the synopsis, but I watched it anyways for Zhao Lu Si. She is so cute and has had great chemistry with her other partners in other dramas. In the end, I decided to give this drama a go and hope for the best. The minute the male lead comes in, my heart DROPS. He is so handsome, and very very much my kind of older guy. The age gap isn't overwhelming and the chemistry between the leads was ... radiating. Wow... The chemistry was off the charts. I loved the male lead. He was so loyal to the FL during the whole entire drama. I guess that's the best part about being older and more secure in your career. He doesn't feel swayed by the opinions of his mother or secretary. Lu Si's character was the epitome of young, but she always plays her characters well. I love her acting, especially when she cries... my heart just criiiieeees. I really recommend this drama for anyone bored and single.
