Strong FL. Some clichés. Office Drama that gives you an idea how to handle toxic workmates.
I feel I should put it out there that I'm a Seven Tan fan, not so much of Kenny Lin.Story:
I think the screenwriter's have put effort to create great scenarios/ circumstances and provided solutions to issues in the dramas which is not usually a popular take in the c-drama land. At first, I thought it will be a spin of "what's wrong with secretary kim" but it came to, what happened if secretary kim actually resigned and got another job in another company.
If you've ever worked in the corporate, this depicts office politics so some scenarios might be relatable for you and you can probably get some ideas on how to handle toxic people in your company. In a way, this drama can be inspirational. It's not also far from reality that there are bad people in the workplace, but there are also good one's like finding a boss who actually trusts you and not back stab you.
I like that the characters here have their own colours.
It started good, but it got boring somewhere in the middle. There are some episodes that are painful to watch I almost dropped it. I'm not sure if the screenwriters' sort of have given up somewhere because they had to use one of the biggest cliché in c-drama land towards the last few episodes.
Acting:
Seven Tan is on point here as well as the other supporting characters. Kenny Lin's acting here was not so bad, but I think he could've done better. Of all his works that I've seen this is probably one of the best.
Warning:
This is not your usual lovey-dovey drama, so if you're looking for those then better skip it. There are some small heart-fluttering moments here and there but it's far from those honey-drenched idol dramas in c-drama land.

Worth a chance. I had fun watching it.
I thought Wang Yuwen and Zhang Ling He were the CP. But Jiang Long and WY also have this cute and subtle chemistry. The romance between them begins and ends with having an open-secret crush towards each other. The way they express it is funny and cute at least. Chen You Wei was also a fun addition to the quartet. The bromance was fine. They made me giggle and laugh a lot. The bromance wasn't just childish, their characters also grew and the loyalty they held for each other was respectable.
Let's talk about the cliche parts, the secrets of the main characters' birth, the usual enemy to super loyal friends and the inside job were nothing new. I've seen it a lot in c-drama plots.
What helped the cliche parts is that each character has a story that was successfully communicated throughout the show. So many characters will be introduced along the way, but their entry and exit were reasonable. The plot twists are still there, although it was unveiled earlier on who the villains are, they kept it interesting by you wanting to know what was the motivation of each character.
Fighting scenes are abundant and at least the fighting techniques were dynamic. The weapon designs were varied and you can see that a lot of thought was put into it. Another thing to like was that the female characters were portrayed as strong, goal-driven and capable regardless of which side they were on.
I binge-watched this but got tired of it in the middle. I took a one-day break and found myself finishing it. I rarely finish shows these days so I feel compelled to leave a review. If you watched it, let me know what you think.
