Having a bad day? The King's Avatar will turn it around.

The King's Avatar was my favourite drama of 2019.

Let me start this off by saying I'm not much of a review writer. If you scan through my watchlist, you'll also see that I am a sucker for romance. They're my guilty pleasure. I also have to state that I went into this without having read or watched the anime - so the plot was new to me.

No, The King's Avatar does not focus on romance.
No, it is not like Love O2O.
No it is not like Go Go Squid (disclaimer: I'm still currently watching the latter).

Yet despite all this I fell in love with this show, literally counting down the days until the weekend when I could binge watch the next 6 episodes.
I picked this show up because Yangyang. I followed it to the end because of the gorgeous graphics, the captivating gaming scenes, and the heartwarming plot.
This show was about friendship. It was about teamwork. It was about supporting and caring for the people around us.
It was about facing challenges and following your dreams.

Honestly, I would recommend this show to anyone who wants to come away from a drama feeling uplifted and happy. With Ye Xiu by your side, you get the sense that any challenge, no matter how difficult, will be solved. This drama never leaves you feeling lost or alone. You want to be friends with the characters and be part of their team.
If you're having a bad day, The King's Avatar is the show to push those worries aside and get lost in another's world.

Happy watching! <3
