Till the End of the Moon

Great concept but badly executed.
After I went through this whirlpool of a convoluted emotional ride, the ending is just a bandaid on my wound after numerous stabs through the heart, as in the series. They should end the series after the Gods, Ming Ye and Sang Jiu. The many lifetimes intertwining with each other gave me a headache.I have a few gripes about the repetitiveness in this series:
1. Too much blood spitting. Leo Luo is very fragile seems; all he did was vomited blood. I thought he was supposed to be invincible. Other characters spit blood, but the frequency was tolerable.
2. Too many stabs in the heart. Enough already; can't they find other spots?
3. Too many farewells, and they never leave. I don't believe them anymore when they say farewell.
4. Too draggy with emotional scenes. Ok, we got the point. Next scene, please!
5. This series should be called Love, Lies and kill me.
I like the main leads. That is the main reason I watched this series. The beginning was all good. I could follow the storyline until after the God scene. I tried to talk myself into continuing. Then it just gets worst and worst. Poor Bai Lu gets stuck with this type of film, especially with a hot co-lead and a great story concept, then the direction and story fall apart. I am sure the novel is probably better, so I blame the producer and director. Bad execution is the bottom line.
Do I recommend it? Yeah, watch it and judge for yourself.

Love Like the Galaxy : Partie 1

Great style, mood, acting, music.... etc
Overall, great production.Acting
This series has proven to me that Zhao Lusi is a great actress. She can act like a wise swordswoman from "Who Rules the World" to a 15-year-old girl in "Love Like a Galaxy" Sometimes, I wonder why the female lead acted so rashly and even stupidly, then I have to remind myself she is only 15. Leo Wu plays the cold emotionless general very well. The supporting casts are all commendable as well.
Mood
The mood is well-set and constant throughout the series. Especially the lady's quarter chatters remind me of the 17 and 18th-century Western eras when the ladies and men are separated.
Style
The style is very down-to-earth and not overly exaggerated. The sets are done tastefully.
Music
I swear there were moments of the music reminded me of Downton Abby! I like the opening, just music, not loud singing like some other series.
Directing
Directing is not overly exaggerated. I even forgive the repetitive hugs in a few scenes.
Overall
I think the production value is excellent. The humor is not over the top. I enjoyed the slow pace cinematography. Although there were a few moments I wondered why they made certain decisions, I stuck with it. The ending scenes are too rushed and left some things unexplained. I heard the director had to cut many scenes and he will release a director's cut version. Can't wait for that to come out!

This would have been great if.....
the Ending was not botched up.I thoroughly enjoyed The Legend from the start. I enjoyed the story premise, the acting, especially Xiao Yan who played two roles. (I think she is someone I will look into on other series) The acting of the leads, Xu Kai and Bai Lu were amazing. They had great chemistry together. Good enough that I watched Arsenal Military Academy just to watch them together again which was a much better series.
Even tho the series already took a dive after the thing between Zhao Yao and Qing Zhi Yan. Due to the interesting plot, I stuck with it till the end. It appeared as if they changed an editor or producer. The continuity of the series took a bad turn. I can forgive some scenes cut to another scene lacking explanation. But, I can't forgive the producers for insulting the viewer's intelligence. The series should have ended at Episode 53 as an open ending.. I usually hate open endings, but this one would save the series. The ending was so bad that the producers underestimated the viewers that we have memories of scenes they used before. They montaged over not as a memory but as a totally new scene. That to me is very lame. I felt I got played. I felt angry and betrayed. But the chemistry between Xu Kai and Bai Lu was so good that I want to watch more of them!

One artsy series with high production and directing quality
I'm not so crazy about the story (to each's own), but some people might like it. I give it a 9 because this is one of the few martial arts series I've seen with a high-quality production value—especially the directing. The director is an artist. He did the slow motions perfectly, not over-abused and repetitious. The music is top-notch. Very fitting of the moods. The OS is excellent with a Blues undertone. The storytelling is a bit confusing., but due to the production value, you stick with it. This is not a typical roll-out martial arts series where the ending will spoil the entire series after you binge-watch and feel burnt out and disappointed. The length is just right. A build-up of surprising elements. As I mentioned, the director is someone to watch after. I am looking forward to his other works.Cet avis était-il utile?
