Yang Yang emotion and the well-structured story, a good portrayal of nowadays romance
The development of their feelings and relationships makes perfect sense and is relatable to everyone. From rejected high school love, reunion, slow-burn affection as a friend, everything they do in this phase makes butterflies in our hearts. The clichéd excuse of rejecting others because "you're too good for me", haha... this makes sense again. Which man whose self-esteem doesn't hurt when the woman he loves has everything (beautiful, rich, famous), as if she doesn't need a man anymore. But then regret comes late, the effort to get a second chance, how then they appreciate every little effort their partner makes and the time they have.
I watched several Yang Yang dramas, he reminded me of Korean actor Lee Min Ho, who I think always plays it safe by taking on almost the same character in all of his projects, rich, arrogant, and charming male. At first, I thought Yang Yang would again want to play the role of a handsome and intelligent boy with overbearing charisma like in his previous dramas, but I was wrong. He showed a very slick emotional roller coaster in this drama as Yu Tu. How dilemma, doubtful, and heartbroken he was when he realizes that his idealism is not as beautiful as reality. How it hurt his heart when he realized he had the same feelings for Jing Jing but had to refuse because of his insecurities. How he portrayed the regret, and then how happy he was in the end. Agh... I really like the details of his micro-expression here. For Dilraba, there is no question. The characters she played in previous projects were quite sporadic, showing her ability to act in various settings. People will probably believe that she isn't acting in this drama and is just being herself because she's so natural. Can't wait for their next project, both Yang Yang and Dilraba. Their custome drama, hopefully, it will be even more epic.
