HUGE missed opportunity
I loved the characters of this series; the male lead who was super soft and gentle who worked with the female lead who was so strong and gorgeous, they work with each other to exorcise evil spirits.it was a nice series full of fantasy with a bit of ghost hunting and action. I expected that it will be a romantic one Unfortunately, it wasn't it is a HUge miss like there were so many moments of lovely intimacy that they shared, and I really felt like they’d be a stunning couple but they really have more of a friend vibe by episode 10 (after a ton of teasing that there would be romance). I’m guessing he’ll kiss her at the very end or something, but the show really has very little in the way of established romance.

my best ever fantasy kdrama !!
This is not the first series to use the legend of the 9-tailed fox (gumiho). Normally, the 9-tailed fox is an almost immortal supernatural being that has a bad reputation, because it feeds of the energy of humans to feed its inner pearl. But here, we are dealing with nice gumiho who are just looking to become human, not to kill them. One has already succeeded, but the main character of the story, 999 years old, has only a few months left to do so before he disappears. That's when he meets a young (and pretty...) student who swallows his pearl by mistake. From then on, their destiny is linked for better or for worse-but mostly for better-.This drama is clearly intended to entertain, and it reaches its goal. There are some elements of a fantasy thriller in the first part, but it is quickly resolved and it is only a twist of the story. A love triangle is set up to complicate the romance, but again, it's not done to keep us in suspense until the end. So, what makes the charm of the series? First of all, an extremely well-adapted cast, with actors who give substance to each character. The two leads, played by Jang Gi Yong and Hyeri, have real chemistry. They are both very charming. The supporting cast is also very good, I especially liked Park Gyeong Hye, who played a ghost in Goblin. She has a very expressive game, probably helped by her particular face and her big eyes. Without being beautiful, she gives off the charm. More generally, except for maybe two pests of service, all these characters are sympathetic and contribute to keeping a positive spirit.
Secondly, there is a lot of humor, we often smile. Notably, because the gumiho in search of humanity is a bit clumsy and is in permanent difficulty with human psychology.
What did I miss a little? Maybe a little more depth on this quest for humanity, and then, it doesn't seem so bad to be a gumiho, finally... Besides, by dint of looking for what can make you smile, we remain a little on the surface of things. And there are also some characters who pass by and disappear a little mysteriously from the story, leaving a taste of too little: the brief passage of the heroine's mother or the kind of third magical being whose purpose is not well understood. But these small negative points do not take away much from the very positive general impression that comes out of the viewing! In conclusion, "My roommate is a gumiho" (title on Viki) is good entertainment that will put you in a good mood. so i totally recommended!!!

wanna watch a kdrama ? don't have time this is the best kdrama for you
I loved the concept of this drama; that we all are beautiful, we just need to find the beauty inside us. one thing that I didn't like was how they put across the message that we need to use makeup to reveal our beauty. that's not true, makeup is just another way of making a mask to cover ourselves- but that's just my opinion-.Yet, despite all that the drama is really well made. Even though every episode is just a few short minutes, they managed to peak my interest and developed the story quite well. The acting was also incredible for sure. Go Kwon Hee manages to take control of the show magnificently through her acting every time I see her. I loved eccentric acting here as well.
overall, this drama was short but send out a beautiful message on loving ourselves. so if you have a little free time on your hands but still want to watch a drama, I'd say this k-drama is a good option but don't expect a lot.

my first cdrama
with this drama, I had started my adventure with "Asian dramas". at first, I had seen that it had 46 episodes -whooohhh that's a lottt- but in the end, I decided to give it a go. so the first thing that catch my attention is that this drama is one of the few Chinese dramas which aren’t dubbed, and only use the actors’ real voices. Since dubbing is one of the reasons I don’t like most C-Dramas, this came as a big plus. One of the things that immediately stood out to me was the cinematography. The shots are beautiful, expanded, almost panorama-like. They seem to have a knack for cinematic shots in Chinese dramas, to make the scenery look almost idyllic. I guess dorms in Chinese schools must look like this, I think the rooms look very cozy and cute. Style-wise it was the closest to Korean drama that I’ve ever seen in Chinese dramas, also in ways of more realistic acting and camera positioning. There were some true pearls in there, I was very impressed with the cinematography. I think it’s a very good coming-of-age story, depicting different kinds of people who chose to go different kinds of ways. Some are blinded by success -or the illusion of success- that they are prepared to give up everything for it. One of Qi Qi’s best quotes at the end of the series was ‘I’ve gained the world. But still, I feel like I’ve gained nothing.’The importance of friends, especially in dire straits, is the importance of trust and support. It may have started out as a simple romantic high school drama story, the way it turned out after depicting ‘what happens after school’, is what made it a real story about real life and real people and how they deal with all kinds of miserable and difficult situations, but still, have each other to come back to.
