I'm not just saying this because I'm in love with Tharn's character or the intimate scenes are fire but that's exactly what I'm saying. There are a few shortcomings here and there but I don't they are relevant enough to mention. The characters are college freshmen but the storyline is simple but the delivery is mature, the acting is on point (for the most part) and MewGulf's chemistry is just off the charts! Plus they are both good-looking (my type), like how unfair is that? I've read some comments like "rape" or "non-consensual" crap but for me, it only adds to the realism of the story. Sorry to break your bubble but pure innocent love rarely or - if not - doesn't exist in this world. Request a "fairytale" tagging next time. Of course I do not condone rape or anything like that, but this show didn't really romanticize rape or anything (unless a few stolen kisses count), in the end they are all grown men, if they don't want it, they'll fight for their lives, not enjoy it. Overall, if you want chemistry and a grown-up approach in a university setting, this one is for you. Cet avis était-il utile?

Just wanna point out that I'm a HUGE fan of the anime, I couldn't even count how many times I've re-watched the anime so obviously, my 10 is reserved for the anime and my review is all about the comparison between the two.First off, the characters. Visually, most of them were great for their roles (all of Seigaku/ Yu Qing were good-looking). I have no problem with the fact that they changed them fro middle schoolers to high schoolers. Lu Xia (Ryoma) is not as lovable but I got used to him gradually. My favorite are Qiao Chen(Momo) and Tang Jiale (Kikumaru) - they are so effin' cute.
Major differences that I liked are:
One, Lu Xia's relationship with his father. Nanjirou was cool but it was so heartwarming seeing how much Lu Xiangqian dotes on his son.
Two, the development between Lu Xia and Qi Ying(Sakuno) which I guess natural given that they are 3 years older from the original.
Three, Ji Jing Wu (Atobe-sama). I love Atobe-sama with all of my being but he was a b!tch at the beginning of the anime even after that he was a bit much. But here, Ji Jing Wu shred off that excess b!tchiness - still a b!tch but in the right amount.
Now, for the differences that I don't really care for:
One, I've offended by this - Momo and Tachibana Ann's relationship. I love the dynamics of their relationship in the anime but here they changed it completely, they made Qiao Chen a besotted teenager and Xu Xingzi(Ann) a tease - like, what the hell?
Two, Baiyang and Yan Zhi Ming (Inui). They still followed the story but I don't care for Baiyang's attitude towards Zhi Ming. Kaido was never that disrespectful towards his seniors specially Inui.
This version is mostly based on the manga rather than the anime specially with the game rosters and scores by the way. The show didn't really focus on the out-of-this-world techniques as much the anime which seems to be a good thing because they could - most probably - fvcked it up. They matches are shorter too as expected. It's fine overall, I guess, but the major con would be the audience wouldn't be as attached to the characters from other school as compared to the anime/manga which for me is a very big part of my PoT experience.
Overall, I enjoyed this series very much. Though I would love another season, it pretty much closed the story after the Kanto Tournament and with no apparent loose end.

The story is simple, straightforward and no dull moment, before you know it, you're on the last episode! One thing i dislike though is the involvement of c-parents with their children's lovelife, I noticed it too from other c-dramas (maybe it's their culture), but apart from that, I absolutely love this drama!
