Unsoviing the Mystery Of 70 Billion Won
●FIRST IMPRESSION
What are you gonna do if you have 70 billion won?
Honestly, I was intrigued by this question, when I saw the trailer and the only thing I could think of was a house and higher education just like any common person. pretty similar to the dreams of FL, Oh InJoo who is an average working woman.
The dreams of a common person are a house, a car, and a comfortable life with the family. But what comes with 70 billion is the responsibility, danger, and greed of evilness.
●PLOT VIEW
LITTLE WOMAN, is a drama that takes the audience on a journey of more than a 70billion won.
Murders, accidents, politics, ambition, corruption, greed, broken family, and 3 LITTLE WOMAN in the midst of such chaos
Featuring infamous BLUE ORCHIDS and an illustration of CLOSED ROOMS. The story using these elements as core develops into a thrilling mystery action drama with just a pinch of sweetness. After every episode, it leaves the audience wanting more of everything after and it left the audience at the end even though complete but a pinch of incompleteness.
also, this drama has a spoonful of supernatural delight which goes hand in metaphor for BLUE ORCHIDS.
The background of the Vietnam war terrifying but interesting too. I learned many things about it post-drama.
Even though it was perfect in storytelling, untying the mysterious knots but few bits remained uncleared. I would like to list it all down but then it would be a spoiler I guess.
●CHEMISTRY
This drama also breaks the stereotypes of romance in Kdramas, it was just beautiful and endearing. No cheesy script but a pure trustworthy and understanding relationship.
There are also many relationships, not just romantic ones but friendship, InJoo, HwaYoung, and InHye and HyoRin
which we don't get to see like in other dramas. They had a such pure friendship that it made me fall in love with them.
also, InJoo and Do-il's unsaid relationship is a breaking of the stereotypes of relationships in Kdrama.
InKyung and JungHo were mature friends who understood each other deeply.
●ACTING/CAST
About the cast and acting, it was phenomenal. Whoever did the casting deserves a raise, they were more than perfect. Every character can be a character study because they were deep and layered. Even though you see them first you realize they have more depth after a few episodes for any drama lover.
Park Ji Hu, as Oh Inhye the youngest of the Oh family was annoying and I ended up disliking her but as a young actress, she showed varied emotions of determination in any situation.
Nam Ji-Hyun as Oh InKyung was a stubborn, positive, and moral character who refuses to give up and back away. NJH's soft voice gives a sweet and innocent depth to her character.
Kim Go-Eun as Oh InJoo was flawed yet kind, strong, and daring. She takes all the chances to give her sisters a better life and gets into trouble. KGE was perfectly displaying not just InJoo but all those average working class who work bones to make ends meet. She shows grief, stubbornness, confusion, greed, trust, loyalty, and madness with perfection.
Wi Ha-Joon as Choi DoIl was a magnificent character who was not easy to decipher until the end. WHJ maintained his smile balance and eye depth to make the audience confused. And seeing his previous works every1 is obliged to think of him as a grey character. But when the drama ends he left an impression that won't be forgotten for a long time.
KangHoon as JongHo was a sweet adorable guy who just stood by InKyung. KH seemed so sweet in this character.
Uhm Ji Won, and Uhm Ki Joon were toxic as hell. They were a core subject that can't be ignored, also inspite of having negative characters they can't be hated, for the character portrayal was brilliant. They did the job as actors awesomely.
●MUSIC
This drama had the least OST of the dramas I have watched previously. there are many songs used in the drama sequence which get repeated until you start to humm but this drama, mostly used musical tones rather than lyrical tracks, which was very refreshing.
La Vie was a beautiful undertone song but the lyrics of the song were heard just once. Only the music was used heavily.
The ghost orchid music was powerful. It gives chills down the spine with its ghostly monotonous tone.
●REWATCH
I wish I could forget everything and watch it all over again for the first time. Am rewatching this.
●APPRECIATION
The director deserves appreciation to unfold a mysterious drama mysteriously and keep it mysterious until the end.
The cinematographer deserves applause to show us the astonishing beauty of colors in the form of heels, flowers, clothes, and places many more.
●CRITICISM
The writer and directors were to be blamed who fell short in wrapping up all the loose ends as they wanted to keep everything mysterious until the end and the secrets remained secrets. Not a spoiler but if you are not deep into the drama you won't even notice these details.
