My sole reason for watching this drama was so that I could compare it to its recent reboot, 2 Moons 2. And yeah, in that regard I found 2M really lacking.
Most of the actors felt so very flat but I could’ve taken that if at least the story was interesting. Spoiler: It wasn’t. To be perfectly honest, around mid-series, I started skipping the PhaYo scenes and I stuck around for one reason and one reason only: MingKit. Ming & Kit, their story, and especially Kit were the saving grace of this drama. They certainly gave me a different vibe than their reboot counterparts and that made it interesting enough for me to keep going.
To sum it up: Behind the scenes BS aside, I’m very glad that the production company didn’t make S2 of this drama but rather rebooted the whole thing. It seems namely that they learned from their own mistakes and they made 2M2 much faster paced and much more dynamic. Also, they developed all three pairings and not just PhaYo with a side dish of MingKit.
