Gosh, this was sweet. It was very funny in certain places - I was happy that this drama offered Gao Hanyu the chance to showcase his comedy talent - while at the same time I bawled my eyes out watching the last three episodes! And the end credit song! That song! It gave me warm fuzzies. I really have to look it up.

Most of the characters were really not all that likable at first, they irked me a lot, but they all grew and matured throughout the drama, all of them, even the bad guys, that I ended up loving every single one of them. I basically started bawling when Shen Tong started telling her story and then cried my way through the remainder of the drama. The ending was so very, very soft.

What touched me the most was what Shi Lang and Kun Lan did at the end when they fulfilled Qi Tian’s wish and made it look like she was still alive and happy, travelling the world with her soon-to-be-husband, even though she died those two years ago. Because Qi Tian knew that Qi Xun and Shuangshuang would never stay together if their relationship cost Qi Tian her life. And Kun Lan liked both Qi Tian and Shuangshuang and Shi Lang loved both Qi Tian and Qi Xun so much that they kept up the pretense for the main couple to be happy. Even though it meant never coming back themselves.

And the sweetest surprise? When Wantian got a “Qi Xun” of her own in Zhang Lichuan.

I’m very glad I watched this drama. It was a sweet romance. Just with espers.
