1. Sassy Go Go
Korean Drama - 2015, 12 episodes
Sassy Go Go/Cheer Up: ultimately a drama with heartwarming friendship as it's main theme, it shows how the top 5 performing students are (unwillingly) paired with a dance crew of 5 students who definitely aren't anywhere near the top 5 to form a cheerleading club to build up a student's "resume" for college applications. Explores academic pressure, suicide, domestic violence, bribery/manipulation, trust and many other themes. Does have a little bit of romance, but also lots of character development and cute friendship. Also 12 episodes, and very easily binge watch-able - u/MikasaMilkTea

5. Dr. Frost
Korean Drama - 2014, 10 episodes
Dr. Frost - based on a popular webcomic, it's a psychological thriller with one of the most sinister/twisted bad guys in the business. In my opinion, it doesn't get worse than playing with someone's mind (see: Bad Guys). Dr. Frost is a professor in psychology who is unable to feel empathy due to a brain injury from a car accident in his childhood. He also works in a college counseling center where together with a teaching assistant who couldn't be more different than him they end up helping the police solve difficult crimes involving college students.
Why you should watch: it's a refreshing take on the 'coldhearted detective' trope. It's not that he pretends not to care only to find his feelings in the end (along with a healthy dollop of romance), it's that he literally can't feel empathy. That coupled with his rational thought processing make it a much more believable drama than many of it competitors. - u/AlohaAlex

9. Conspiracy in the Court
Korean Drama - 2007, 8 episodes
If you are at all into mystery/thriller and/or historical dramas, I highly recommend Conspiracy in the Court (한성별곡). It is an 8-episode series revolving around a murder case set in Hansung, the capital of Korea during the latter years of the Joseon dynasty. It wasn't popular when it aired, but when people revisited the series it received extremely high reviews. Because it is short, it cuts out the sloppy fluff (weak romances or forced comedy) that could take away from a tight plot. So try it out if you enjoy mystery dramas and/or seeing a glimpse of Korean history during a time it began absorbing western influences. - u/MrsSweetnSpicy

Korean Drama - 2017, 8 episodes
I also really liked Girls' Generation 1979. It's 8 episodes x 60 min, so not really a mini, but half the size of a normal drama. It's in the climate of some of the student protests in early 80s, it's a bit more serious than the others I've listed, but had really great characters. - u/pvtshame

Korean Drama - 2017, 15 episodes
In The Boy Next Door, two college students become neighbors and slowly develop an actually pretty touching friendship. However, they often end up getting mistaken as boyfriends. I just really enjoy their friendship and their humorous moments as they get mistaken for another type of relationship, especially by their common friend and her closeted (iirc) boyfriend. - u/hades-town

We Are Peaceful Brothers - it is a hilarious riot. The chemistry between the brothers is so believable. I loved it. - u/pvtshame
In We Are Peaceful Brothers, there is also a lot of humor and focus on a bromance. This one has two brothers who live together and it was just such a nice exploration of their relationship along with the interactions with the older brother’s girlfriend. 92. The Cravings
Korean Drama - 2013, 6 episodes
There's a funny and simple drama on Netflix called The Cravings and it's a super short and easy to watch. 2 seasons and each episode is around 10 minutes. Unfortunately, it isn't a romance but the main character does have love interests. It's more of a slice-of-life comedy that deals with love/family/friendship/health situations, very #relatable stuff. And the best part is that she's a foodie and at the end of each episode she shares a bomb ass recipe. - u/gwooble

The Tuna and the Dolphin is a quirky, adorable, and fun rom-com based on a webtoon (참치와 돌고래 by Lee Hing) about a girl who has never been in a relationship who enlists a tribe to help her catch her latest dream guy. The leads antics are pretty hilarious and will have you laughing at and with them. I really enjoyed this one.

Korean Drama - 2020, 4 episodes
Mute - this is an original story where the ML has a hearing issue and the FL can read his mind. The leads were very cute together and their relationship developed naturally, even though the show was short. It's worth watching for a cute fluffy time. There's no triangles or angst or trauma at all. Just two people who find each other and benefit from having each other in their life. - u/caninedesign

Another Parting - also known as Some Kind of Goodbye. He's an alien trying to find an answer to a particularly tricky problem and she's a singer going through the worst day of her life. What conclusions will they reach in the one day they spend together?
Why you should watch: it's 50 minutes. And somehow still manages to be fun, beautiful and heartbreaking. Honestly, it could've easily been filmed as a 16 episode drama. Also, it's Seo In Guk as a confused alien. - u/AlohaAlex
