Notable Bromances

Clearly a very important subject in any show, the bromances. These are bromances that I loved, and made the show even more fun to watch. I'll do my best to try to avoid any spoilers, but I'm not perfect, so some may slip in, sorry.

In order of favorite on down (plus honorary mentions by the bottom).

(Can you tell I'm bored? lol)

  • Mr. Sunshine

    1. Mr. Sunshine

    Korean Drama - 2018, 24 episodes

TWO great bromances in one show? Guess it's getting first! (Honestly this is just a escape from not being sure exactly where on the list to put this >.>)

Eugene Choi and Gu Dong Mae and Kim Hui Seong

These frenemies just make me so so happy. They may have started by barely tolerating each other, going so far to constantly threaten each other's lives. Especially when Hui Seong is around Dong Mae and Eugene who, slightly annoyed by him, always twist his words to metaphorically threaten him more. However those threats grow more and more into almost loving worry and care to the boys straight up saying that they missed each other, that they are glad to see them well, and outwardly wishing each other well.

Special Shout out to Eugene Choi and Major Kyle Moore

I've got to give these two a little shout out as well. Major Kyle Moore is a person that Eugene can always count out. (SPOILER... I guess) I mean the man stood in front of a gun pointed at Eugene... like, you can't get more loyal than that. (annnd SPOILER OVER). Kyle is someone who finds something that may be important to Eugene and supports him with it. I'm talking about calling Eugene a fellow American (which all the boy wants is to be accepted as such), to taking him out to chicken broth ever since Eugene said that when he was a child he would never have been able to eat it.

The Goblin and the Grim Reaper

    My absolute favorite bromance.

While at first they really disliked each other, being forced to live together, and experiencing similar things together, their relationship bloomed into a bromance where they had each other's back and support each other. As well as bringing in tomfoolery and turning into almost childish mystical beings. (Not to mention, in the behind the scenes footages, it seems like the actors had fun together and played off of each other's ad libs well).

    Se Joo and Jin Oh

And now the bromance that come only just after Goblin's.

Their friendship is one that has stood the test of time... in a way. Similar to the Goblin bromance, Se Joo doesn't get along very well with Jin Oh in the beginning. However, as they interact more and more of the past is reveled this changes relatively quickly (and as we see more of the past, we see more of their interactions).

    4. Sassy Go Go

    9.5

    Kim Yeol and Ha Joon

All of the characters in Sassy Go Go (Cheer Up!) face their own problems. Kim Yeol and Ha Joon are no different. However they have each other to help and support each other through the tough times and make their lives that little bit brighter.

    Fist bump ^.^

    5. Descendants of the Sun

    Korean Drama - 2016, 16 episodes

    9.5

    Shi Jin and Dae Yeong

Shi Jin and Dae Young are already friends when we meet them in, if I remember correctly, the very first scene of the show, where they work together to stop a thief on a motorcycle. Their friendship is one of mutual, unspoken, understanding; one of fun and support.

  • Tunnel

    6. Tunnel

    Korean Drama - 2017, 16 episodes

    9.0

    Gwang Ho and Seon Jae

Tunnel's bromance is one that starts off well... lets just say it's a rocky relationship after Gwang Ho handcuffs Seon Jae. However as time goes on, they begin to learn more about each other and understand each other more, and become a team to be reckoned with. Theirs is a relationship that is primarily illustrated through actions and teamwork than words.

    The two

(Shout out to Gwang Ho and Sung Shik as well whose senior/junior relationship continued throughout the years!)

  • Circle

    7. Circle

    Korean Drama - 2017, 12 episodes

    9.5

    Joon Hyuk and Ho Soo

It seems a lot of the bromances on this list started with the two not likeing each other. Well... Joon Hyuk and Ho Soo are no different. Coming from very different places, these two have very different views with living, which of course ends up with them being at odds. As usual though, they find common ground that brings them closer and helps them to work together better.

(Shout out to the actually bros in this show as well!)

  • Sungkyunkwan Scandal

    8. Sungkyunkwan Scandal

    Korean Drama - 2010, 20 episodes

    9.0

    Yong Ha and Jae Shin

The first bromance on this list that does not involve the main male lead. Now... it has been a while for me with this show... but Yong Ha and Jae Shin have a friendship where they can keep each other's secrets and they have each other's backs when needed even without needing to ask.

    A perfect match

    won't allow it

  • My Country: The New Age

    9. My Country: The New Age

    Korean Drama - 2019, 16 episodes

    9.0

Seo Hwi and Nam Sun Ho

These two may surprise people... while also others might get it. Why? and why are they so low on the list? Well, these two are, as the show it self says at one point, like Sun and Moon. They are always on opposite sides. They are always pitted against each other, often times pitted in life and death situations. They stab each other constantly with "affectionate swords, and it's not really something you could understand until you watch them and the pain in their eyes each time they meet. Because, although pitted against each other, they always hope for the other to hold out, to live, to survive this. They put themselves in harms way to make this happen. They might not always say it directly to each other, but after each slinging of words they say "Live... please" through literal words, or through their actions.

This relationship, thus makes the show hard to watch (you'll understand after even the first episode), but also so beautiful and fun to watch when these two, who know each other so well (being childhood friends) are, for those rare times, fighting on the same side and for each other. I wouldn't suggest this bromance to anyone, and would never want anyone to have this sort of bromance ever, but the amount of love the two have for each other through it all and the fact that they are really each other's worlds, whether they are aware of it or not, earned them a spot on this list for me.

Video of these two together (don't worry it's just from ep 1) (if you REALLY hate spoilers at all, it kinda is for ep 1... but I never consider anything from the first 2 episodes spoilers, so up to you.

  • Reunited Worlds

    10. Reunited Worlds

    Korean Drama - 2017, 40 episodes

    HONORARY MENTION

Hae Sung... and basically anyone he comes in contact with >.>  and Min Joon

Like seriously though, Hae Sung gets along with everyone? Is that even possible to do? Like he just wants everyone to be happy >.< But like everyone he meets is like insta-friends...

I chose this one out of all the others though due to how much the two end up spending time together (even though Hae Sung rooms with Ho Bang...). Min Joon is the second lead in this drama, so the two are are somewhat at odds, however this is probably the first time I've seen the two leads the least at odds as possible. (SPOILER ALERT) Partly because Hae Sung and Jung Won have kept their relationship a secret from him, and partly because when he does find out, he lets them be. ........ (SPOILER ALERT OVER)

Hae Sung and Min Joon are really cute together, and understand each other well.

The last things I was expecting from a show about newborn mothers taking care of their bodies after giving birth was to find a bromance. But that's what we got from these two fathers. Imparting wisdom, going on a date to shop for their babies, it may be short, but it is quite a wonderful relationship.
