My "Characters Who Irritated Me" List

POTENTIAL SPOILER ALERT: I am starting to add comments in my lists in lieu of reviews/notes so beware of the potential spoilers. I will try to keep them to a minimum because I get it.

Characters who irritated me for whatever reason, even if the shows are good. Not villains per se, because if I hate a villain for being suitably villainous then they are doing their job. These characters may be overly whiny, timid, weak, or inconsistent, they may refuse to communicate, or perhaps the actor either overacted or underacted the role. Whatever the case, they made me cringe and pissed me off at some point. Listed in no particular order.

*Warning: this will probably feature a lot of female characters and there will probably be some spoilers

  • Lucky Romance

    1. Lucky Romance

    Korean Drama - 2016, 16 episodes

    6.0

Bo Nui was too much. Noble idiocy at its finest (or worst?)

  • Because This is My First Life

    2. Because This is My First Life

    Korean Drama - 2017, 16 episodes

    9.0

I loved this show the first time I watched it. Watching it a 2nd time, I realized what I loved was Se Hee. Ji Ho, on the other hand, really irritated me at the end.  She nearly breaks Se Hee and doesn't really seem to care that she did.

  • Emergency Couple

    3. Emergency Couple

    Korean Drama - 2014, 21 episodes

    7.5

While both parties are pretty toxic at the start, Jin Hee makes the list. She was like a quivering mess throughout the show, and I hated how she kept SML on the hook.

  • Full House

    4. Full House

    Korean Drama - 2004, 16 episodes

    6.5

Yeong Jae pissed me off multiple times. Just stop. This is one of the only shows where I almost wish our FL would have ended up with our SML.

  • Hello Again!

    5. Hello Again!

    Taiwanese Drama - 2019, 16 episodes

    5.5

Ke Ai was just a hot mess throughout the whole show. I blame my opinion partly on her stylist, but her personality was also grating. If it wasn't for the adorable Bruce He I absolutely would not have finished this drama.

  • Kill Me, Heal Me

    6. Kill Me, Heal Me

    Korean Drama - 2015, 20 episodes

    8.0

Hwang Jung Eum's character makes the list again. Oh Ri Jin was so not believable as a professional or doctor. Her screams and shrieks throughout the show were so discordant to the character she was supposedly playing. Just bad.

  • Murphy's Law of Love

    7. Murphy's Law of Love

    Taiwanese Drama - 2015, 19 episodes

    7.0

Xiao Tong makes the list due to her lack of communication with the ML. She refused to communicate with the ML while being open with others. It was so annoying.  One of my big pet peeves.

  • So I Married an Anti-Fan

    8. So I Married an Anti-Fan

    Korean Drama - 2021, 16 episodes

    5.0

JJ  is the worst. He was in no way redeemed in my eyes ever. And poor In Hyung had to deal with it. They are my least favorite 2nd couple to date.

  • The Time We Were Not in Love

    9. The Time We Were Not in Love

    Korean Drama - 2015, 16 episodes

    5.0

He looks at her like he can't breathe; she looks at him like she settled. Not a big fan of Oh Ha Na.

  • Nevertheless,

    10. Nevertheless,

    Korean Drama - 2021, 10 episodes

    6.0

Nabi was a bland and inconsistent character who hid behind everything.

  • Trump Defender

    11. Trump Defender

    Taiwanese Drama - 2020, 15 episodes

    7.5

SFL tells everyone she meets she has feelings for ML, but acts like it's this big secret when doing so and her admission is her pity plea.  Then has the audacity to act like she did FL a favor by backing out. ML straight up turns her down on multiple occasions. She had no choice but to back away because he never looks at her as a potential love interest. Ever.

I just didn't like her. At all.

  • Boss & Me

    12. Boss & Me

    Chinese Drama - 2014, 34 episodes
