Best Chinese Modern Dramas

This is not a typical rom-com. Say goodbye to cliches and tropes, welcome logical and realistic plotline! This is a slow burn romance leaning more to slice-of-life, but even if this drama is not for you, don't be discouraged from trying it out. It completely exceeded my expectations. 

Chemistry between two leads? Check! Great cast with good acting from all supporting roles? Check! A story that you don't have to lose braincells over? Check! CGI? Check! Falling Into Your Smile is definitely one of the best modern dramas out there. While the e-sports genre is quite prominent, you can simply skip the gaming scenes. 

Very realistic and well-developed romance. This was fluff executed to perfection. It was hilarious to watch the ML try to win over the FL with his nerdy antiques!

Definitely a king among Chinese family dramas, Go Ahead is one of the top dramas of mydramalist for good reason.

Both Janice Wu and Steven Zhang are amazing actors! Their chemistry is there, and you want to root for their characters as they grow as people through the series.

This one is full of tropes and cliches- but something about the idea of watching the main couple get together despite the seemingly impossible odds will make you have a soft spot for this drama.

This drama completely nails the 'youth' genre. It is not perfect, but it is one of the best out there.

The main couple is married in real-life too, you can see the off-charts chemistry in this drama! 

This is an e-sports drama, but it is so much more than that. It is about dreams, passion, determination, friendship, teamwork, and overcoming impossibilities. 

The story doesn't have annoying characters and the main couple breaking up and getting backtogether constantly which is always refreshing. Not amazing acting, but they do an okay job.
