Actor Yim Si Wan revealed that he lowered his body fat percentage to 6% to play Seo Yoon Bbok in the upcoming K-movie Boston 1947.

On August 31st, actor Yim Si Wan attended the press conference of Boston 1947 held at Lotte Cinema Konkuk University Entrance in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul. The event was also attended by director Kang Je Gyu, screenwriter Lee Jung Hwa, and actor Kim Sang Ho

In the upcoming sports film, Yim Si Wan played the role of Seo Yoon Bbok, an unbeatable marathoner dreaming of becoming the second Son Gi Jeong and the representative of South Korea in the 1947 Boston Marathon.

Actor Yim Si Wan commented, "Through this project, I acquired the joy of running and a healthy hobby". He added, "This project is special to me for that reason".

He also mentioned that he had played the role of a track and field athlete before, but it was his first time playing a runner. Moreover, as a newcomer to marathons, he started training with a coach two months before filming commenced. He also felt it was crucial to embody the essence of a marathoner both externally and internally. This led him to adhere to a disciplined diet and rigorous exercise routine, persisting until the shoot ended.

Furthermore, he explained, "If I already had a good body, I would have had less trouble. Since I don't usually exercise, I worked out little by little during breaks in filming to maintain well-toned muscles. For the first time in my life, I achieved a 6% body fat".

Boston 1947 weaves the story of Korean marathon runners who ran the first international marathon held after Korea's independence. Inspired by a true story, the film casts Ha Jung WooBae Sung Woo, Kim Sang Ho, Park Hyo Joo, and Lee Seung Joon, apart from Yim Si Wan.

Boston 1947 premieres on September 27th.
