The tvN fantasy drama Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938 concluded with an average nationwide viewership of 8.02%, its highest among the 12 episodes. The average rating of the entire drama is 6.19%. Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938 commenced with a nationwide rating of 6.46%, and throughout six weeks, the K-drama got single-digit ratings only. 

But, despite moderate domestic viewership, the fantasy series has been a hit among international audiences. According to FlixPatrol, Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938 has topped Amazon Prime charts in numerous countries, including Cambodia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Taiwan, Philippines, and Vietnam, among others. Fans now await the release of Tale of the Nine-Tailed Season 3.

The total number of viewers has now reached an impressive 7,782,862.

The action-crime movie surpasses the record set by its previous installment, The Roundup, which garnered an audience of 6,546,674 during its second week at the box office.
