The movie Boston 1947 has unveiled a teaser introducing the characters who will represent the national team in the Boston Marathon.
Boston 1947 weaves the story of Korean marathon runners who ran the first international marathon held after Korean independence.
Son Gi Jeong (Ha Jung Woo) is a legendary figure in Korean marathon history and a national hero who, back in 1936, clinched the gold medal under the Japanese name Son Kitei, representing Japan, at the 1936 Berlin Olympics. After a decade, he steps into the role of the coach for the 1947 Boston Marathon, determined to reclaim the honor that had been taken away from his homeland. Considering talent as the paramount quality for aspiring marathon runners, he dedicates himself tirelessly, day and night, to their rigorous training.
Seo Yoon Bbok (Yim Si Wan) has never received formal training in running due to his challenging upbringing. Nevertheless, he has honed his skills since childhood by traversing Mt.Inwang and Muakjae Pass while working various delivery jobs to make ends meet. In pursuit of prize money, he competes in a marathon commemorating the 10th Anniversary of Son Gi Jeong's victory and emerges victorious. This leads to his selection as a national representative for the 1947 Boston Marathon, and he undergoes rigorous training with the determination to become the second Son Gi Jeong.
Baek Nam Hyun (Kim Sang Ho) is the local coordinator for the national representative team participating in the Boston Marathon, providing support ranging from financial witnesses to translation, training support, transportation, and lodging. Despite his matter-of-fact attitude and constant reference to money, he desires Seo Yoon Bok's victory at the Boston Marathon, more than anyone else.The teaser also gives a glimpse of Extraordinary Attorney Woo actress Park Eun Bin playing the guest role of Seo Yoon Bbok's lover.
