A Lot of Feels?

Feels, according to the Urban Dictionary, is "A wave of emotions that sometimes cannot be adequately explained" or "the wave of emotion that hits you like a truck and leaves you think jeez man why".

Just right now, I am writing this article because I don't understand my feelings after watching a great movie.

Is it sorrow? Sadness? Emptiness? Craving to experience romantic loveAm I being delusional again? Well, I don't know.  Maybe it was written like that and destined to make you experienced that unknown feeling.

I checked my list that gave me that weird feeling or whenever I played the movie soundtrack.

A movie that made me want to have a tattoo. It made me remember how I wanted to do volunteer work in a secluded place and teach kids.

A story of Song, a washed-up wrestler with a broken arm, who takes a job as a teacher at a rural school on a houseboat. With the absence of smartphones and the internet, he finds comfort in reading the diary of his predecessor Ann.

This movie gave me happiness, peace, and comfort. Maybe because it reminded me that you can find happiness in simple things, like seeing children smile, and feel proud when you help them even in the simplest way imaginable.

I think it became popular 9 years ago where I was of the state where I could easily relate to this heart-fluttering story.

Nam is an ordinary, unattractive 14-year-old girl secretly in love with the most popular boy in school named Shone.

I have vivid memories of how this movie restored my faith and hope. A good lesson that love is not about physical features or giving up just because people around you keep saying that you are not right for each other. Instead, love inspires you to improve yourself, to feel good about yourself.

This is hauntingly BEAUTIFUL.

A  story of knowing the past and letting it go for the bright future.

Hiroko in a fit of grief over her fiance's death decides to write a letter to him using his old school address. Surprisingly she receives a reply, not from the dead Itsuki, but from a woman with the same name who had known Hiroko's fiancé in school.  They exchange letters and share memories of the dead Itsuki.

Most of the time, movies from the 90s made a big impact for me and this is one of them. It's a simple story but will give you a lot of thoughts, a big smile on your face and sometimes confusion. It's just hauntingly beautiful in many ways. And I just want to leave you with one question and it will be great if you give your opinion... aghh... I really want to know...

What do you think is the real feelings of Fujii?

Do you want to know what true love is?

Hisashi and Mai are set to have their wedding ceremony in 3 months, but Mai falls ill and lapses into a coma. Hisashi does not give up on his fiance and prays for her recovery. Finally, Mai wakes up, but she doesn't have any memory of Hisashi.

I found myself contemplating what I would do if I were in his shoes. Would you wait or move on with your life? Is there really a guy like this? Well, ladies, it's a TRUE STORY of patience and dedication.

I found myself crying in the middle of the night while clapping so much like I'm one of the parents when they finally reached the aisle. Such a heartwarming story.

I always remember this as a story that can be told by your grandpa and grandma.

Ji Hae has lived alone with her mom since her childhood when her dad unexpectedly passed away. While cleaning, Ji Hae finds a secret box, in which her mom kept the memorabilia of her first love story of some decades past.

I can't remember how many times I watched this one. I love the feeling of the old generation courtship, communication and funny story of their younger days with their friends.

It made me remember my wonderful memories with my friends and my first love. Such a classic story that I'd never get tired to watch whenever I feel empty on a cold Friday night.

That big WHAT IF?

A story of two different personalities that became friends and share a special bond.  Haruki narrates the moment he picks up a diary and discovers that his popular classmate is suffering from a pancreatic disease.  Sakura decides to spend her remaining days with him.

The interesting relationship in “I want to eat your Pancreas... They are in between a best friend and a lover. It’s not romantic love but it’s more than platonic love... I know, it doesn’t make sense...

In the first few scenes of the movie, you will know already what will happen to our heroine so it's not that shocking and you already prepare yourself for what will happen in the end. Are you really prepared for it?

Until now I have questions in my head.  What are the other happy memories that they can gain? Can I have closure for this one?  Well, at least the other characters got theirs already.

There's always a person that will appear to your life like a mushroom that will give you a reason to smile.

After watching The Liar and His Lover, my mind is in a wandering state, trying to remember every scene of the movie while I kept replying that last song. I got tears in my eyes whenever I listened to it, maybe because I knew that he wrote it just for her, his feelings, their memories as well as supporting her to pursue her dreams.

And it gets better when I watched the side story, understanding each character, even my most hated characters. I started to understand them. Aki is surrounded by his friends and family who loved him so much but still felt miserable.

So why is this drama special to me? Aki's emptiness and sadness really caught me off guard. It's like he was stuck in that dark space, suffocating him, even he cannot cry to his friends.

Maybe I can relate him in some way because we have that time that you feel that the world is against you and you just want to get out.

Then that little light came to Aki's life and started to have an inspiration and show that rare smile.

You will appreciate so much that little light from Riko in Aki's world full of angst and emptiness.

**Note**: Do not find that last song. It is more meaningful when you listen to it after you watch the movie.

If you haven't watched these yet, now is the time to explore your feelings more deeply. Better watch these at night while hugging your favorite pillow, eating popcorn or sipping hot coffee.

So what are some other movies that you can add to this list? :)
