Lee Dong Wook will reporteldy lead a new K-drama from tvN.

On June 4, media outlets reported that Lee Dong Wook has been chosen to lead the upcoming K-drama Divorce Insurance. 

Lee Dong Wook's agency King Kong by Starship responded to the circulating reports. According to the label, "Lee Dong Wook has been offered the main lead role for the upcoming series Divorce Insurance. The actor is currently reviewing it. Nothing has been decided."

This will possibly be one of the follow-up K-drama projects of Lee Dong Wook after the successful Disney+ original K-drama A Shop for Killers with Kim Hye Joon, Seo Hyun Woo, Park Ji Bin, Geum Hae Na, and Jo Han Sun. The Disney+ K-drama will also reportedly have a second season and the actor will be joining the series. 

Lee Dong Wook will also lead the upcoming JTBC K-drama The Good Man. He will work alongside Lee Sung Kyung, Ryu Hye Young, Oh Na Ra, Yoo Jae Myung, and Jo Woo Jin

The actor will also participate in the upcoming film Harbin with star-studded casts Hyun Bin, Park Jeong Min, Jo Woo Jin, Jeon Yeo Been, Park Hoon, and more. 

Divorce Insurance will tell the story of a souvenir development team who are working on a product for divorced people. The K-drama will showcase love, marriage, and divorce through the process of setting insurance premiums.

The upcoming K-drama will be the first K-drama work of director Lee Won Suk who is known for creating the films Killing Romance, The Royal Tailor, and How to Use Guys with Secret Tips.  Writer Lee Jae Yoon (Secret Royal Inspector & Joy) will pen the script for the upcoming K-drama.

Lee Dong Wook got the offer to portray the role of Noh Ki Joon. He is one of the members of the product development team. He is also known as an elite insurance accountant who came from a prestigious university abroad. He has been divorced three times and is more familiar than others with marital issues. 

According to reports, Divorce Insurance is scheduled to premiere in the first half of 2025. The filming will begin in earnest after they have finalized the casting.
