Netflix confirms production of Shin Hye Sun and Lee Joon Hyuk's K-drama
The Genie TV original drama Riding Life releases a teaser.
Riding Life follows Jung Eun (Jeon Hye Jin), a passionate working mom preparing her daughter for entrance exam from a young age, who entrusts her mother, Ji Ah (Jo Min Soo), with the task of taking her daughter to the academy.
The newly released teaser captures the hectic life of Lee Jung Eun, a working mom who doesn't have enough hours in the day, and Ji Ah, who unexpectedly gets tasked with childcare at a late stage in life at her daughter's request.
The teaser begins with Jung Eun having a mental breakdown after her sitter suddenly announces she's quitting. From waking up at 7:30 a.m., dropping her child off at kindergarten at 8:00 a.m., arriving late to work at 9:20 a.m., rushing to drop her daughter at the academy during her 12:30 a.m. lunch break, to parenting consultations at 7:30 a.m. after work, her packed schedule as a working mom leaves no room for her to breathe.
Desperately searching for a new sitter, Jung Eun finally finds someone — her mother, Ji Ah, who becomes her savior and steps in as her substitute for the child's academy rides. Having thought she was done with childcare, Ji Ah is thrown into the tumultuous world of hagwon rides, something she's encountering for the first time.
Despite Ji Ah's belief that kids grow up just fine on their own, Jung Eun throws herself into her daughter's education with relentless passion. The phrase "Another day of agonizing Daechi-dong life," heightens curiosity about the chaotic life of this mother-daughter duo.
The teaser for Riding Life delivers a fresh and humorous take on the newly emerging phenomenon of "academy rides" in South Korean society. Jeon Hye Jin's portrayal of a working mom has drawn significant attention.
