Jeon Do Yeon's Movies "Kill Bok Soon" and "Emergency Declaration" Top Netflix Charts

According to top10.netflix.com, the action thriller Kill Bok Soon has thus far garnered 19,610,000 viewed hours in just three days of release, thereby, raking at the No.1 spot on the list of top movies on Netflix in the non-English category.

The movie ranks on the top 10 list of 82 countries including Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, Japan, Brazil, and New Zealand. 

 Kill Bok Soon tells the story of a single mother Gil Bok Soon working the secret job of an assassin. Carrying out the complex character of Bok Soon is the Crash Course in Romance actress Jeon Do Yeon. The movie also casts Sol Kyung Gu as the CEO of MK. ENT Cha Min Kyu (the company which employs Bok Soon); Esom in the role of Cha Min Hee, the younger sister of Min Kyu and director of MK. ENT; and Koo Kyo Hwan as Han Hee Sung, the affiliated assassin of MK. ENT. 

In supporting roles, we have Kim Shi Ah as Bok Soon's teenage daughter Gil Jae Yeong, and Lee Yeon in the role of Kim Yeong Ji, an intern at MK. ENT, who sees Bok Soon as her role model. 

 Kill Bok Soon was, at first, officially invited to the Berlinale Special section at the 73rd Berlin International Film Festival, where it got its world premiere on February 18, 2023. The movie was subsequently released on the global OTT platform Netflix on March 31. 

Another Jeon Do Yeon movie that has been topping Netflix charts is Emergency Declaration. With 9,660,000 viewed hours, the film ranks third on the list of top movies on Netflix in the non-English TV section. The movie was theatrically released on August 3, 2022, but recently debuted on Netflix. 

Emergency Declaration is a story revolving around an airplane terrorist attack. 

When it comes to the attention of veteran police detective Gu In Ho (Song Kang Ho) that a terrorist attack is being planned on a flight filled with innocent passengers, he begins his investigation only to find that the threat is indeed true. Despite his best attempts, he fails to prevent the attack on the Korean Flight 501 that is headed for Hawaii.

On the flight, a terrorist releases a deadly virus putting the lives of those aboard in peril. 

The movie has an all-star cast which includes Song Kang Ho, Lee Byung Hun, Kim Nam Gil, Yim Si Wan, Park Hae Joon, Seol In Ah and, of course, Jeon Do Yeon.
