'When the Phone Rings' concludes on high note, 'When the Stars Gossip' premieres with strong ratings
Bai Lu and Ao Rui Peng's Moonlight Mystique has confirmed its premiere date for January 7.
Moonlight Mystique tells the story of Bai Shuo (Bai Lu), who has been seeking immortality since childhood. After an unexpected encounter with Fan Yue (Ao Rui Peng), the Demon King, the two embark on a journey to unlock the ancient divine artifact, the Wunian Stone. They face numerous trials in Ning'an City, Yiren City, Jingyou Mountain, Stone City, and Bodhi Village. Together, they battle monsters, vanquish demons, and go from using each other for their own benefit to growing through mutual inspiration.
Bai Lu plays Bai Shuo. Bai Shuo, in her past life, was Yue Mi, the Deity of Stars and Moon in the Ancient Realm, and the best friend of Shanggu, the leader among the Four True Deities of the Ancient Realm. However, she was killed by Tianqi, another of the Four True Deities, and reincarnated into the mortal realm as the second daughter of a general's household. Though she appears arrogant and unruly, she is actually very clever and brave.
After being saved by Tianqi in an unexpected incident, she becomes deeply fascinated by deities, demons, and monsters. She became obsessed with pursuing the path of immortality, intending to repay Tianqi for saving her life.
Ao Rui Peng plays Jing Yuan. In his past life, he was the Demon Deity, one of the Four True Deities of the Ancient Realm. He was also an admirer of Shanggu. To prevent Shanggu from sacrificing herself to save the world, he went as far as to catalyze the Blood Formation and bore the sin of causing Yue Mi's death. He reincarnates as the Demon King.
Moonlight Mystique also stars Dai Lu Wa, Chang Hua Sen, Han Dong, and Dai Si, among others. The C-drama will be streaming on iQIYI.
