DOTS Real Life Romance Ends In Divorce
*Writer Caution: Not to be confused with the Korean Cinderella and the Four Knights, which is also rocking drama by the way!*
While waiting for new episodes of Cinderella and the Four Knights to come out, you might want to check out A Girl and Three Sweethearts (aka Suki na Hito ga iru koto.)
It follows a vaguely similar collaborated living situation but with a different storyline! A Girl and Three Sweethearts is about a down-on-her-luck patissier, Sakurai Misaki (Kiritani Mirei) who stumbles across an old school friend. Shibasaki Chiaki (Mirua Shohei) invites her to live with him and also come work at his restaurant.
Things start off okay, until she realizes there are two other guys also living in the same housing space. They are Chiaki’s brothers: the cool collected Kanata (Yamazaki Kento) and the more free-spirited Touma (Nomura Shuhei).
While Misaki adapts to this new development, she instantly conflicts with Kanata and the two definitely do not start things off well. Yet there is love-hate chemistry brewing.
Shuhei’s role as a brother seems to have less screen time than the other two. He is an encouraging and cheerful element in the house. He still needs to find some direction in his life though, as he is still a student.
Misaki, has a secret crush on Chiaki but before she can open up her feelings to him, his ex-girlfriend seems to arrive right on cue to shake up some drama and past feelings for Chiaki who seems bitter and frustrated by her return further in. Feeling lonely and comparing herself to the beautiful ex girlfriend. Misaki can be a little bit of an emotional train wreck and her exasperations can be over the top. But this is where the always annoyed seeming Kanata seems to pop in. When he overhears that she is wanting to be kissed this summer, he steals it in hopes that she will leave their home.
But a determined and confused Misaki persists in not leaving or giving up, as she also wants to pursue her dream of making tasty desserts and pastries.
This drama is a fun, amusing story with lots of shenanigans. And while some quirks could have played out a little more smoothly, I’d say this one is worth checking out!
