Happy Home is the name of Bong Sam Bong’s (Kim Yeong Cheol) Chinese restaurant. At first you would think the title might play into the theme of the story, but as you watch things start to appear not so happy-go-lucky!

The cast features an array of zany characters situated with bizarre and sometimes eccentric family members. Right from the get-go you are shifted into the current dramatics of the various lives of Bong Sam Bong's family.

First off we get to see Sam Bong's three grown children.
Pretty Bong Hae Ryung (Kim So Yeon) is married to workaholic Yoo Hyun Ki (Lee Pil Mo) who is currently and coldly keeping his distance with her. Hae Ryung's mother-in-law is a very well known and famous traditional dress designer and stuffs her nose into everything concerning her son and Hae Ryung. She is one of those characters that from the beginning you immediately can’t stand because of her scheming antics.

Meanwhile, Hae Ryung’s cute brother Bong Man Ho (Jang In Sub) is definitely good looking, but his poor choices make him a less desirable character. His homely wife who represents the strong fierce female is dowdy and underappreciated by the foolish Man Ho. His wife is also an amazing mother to their two sweet daughters, yet she has to deal with his unsavoury behaviours and keep him in check.

Bong Sam Bong’s youngest daughter is the quirky and feisty Hae Won (Choi Yoon So) who works as an editor for a fashion magazine, but she often clashes with the chief editor Lee Kang Min (Park Min Woo), whose father is CEO of the company.

The drama follows their various storylines but is diverse enough that there is something for everyone. The main and supporting couples are adults so the drama is very dynamic, presenting life situations that have a lot of emotional depth but also sweet, endearing moments.

You really start rooting for those that have deep and complicated connections, wishing for them to succeed, and cheering for them when they do. The personal journey they each face can be frustrating but inspiring as the story progresses.

There is also terrific side character eye candy!

The metaphoric skeletons in their closets are waiting to be discovered and/or brought to light. The OST greatly compliments each scene and visually the wardrobe and set departments did a great job in styling the many characters.

This drama has a lot cooking up in the kitchen and for our characters' lives! So prepare a good snack and enjoy this currently airing drama; if you haven’t dived in yet, enjoy the mini marathon to catch up!
