Warning! Fangirling is advised.

‘Love at first sight’ that thought is deceiving, but Choi Minho is someone worth receiving.

It all started  when I was introduced to him with a catchy tune telling my heart how to feel, "Ring Ding Dong", a song that captured me to untangle its mystery. Minho caught my attention when he appeared before my eyes. His glaring dreamy eyes with deep double eyelids and charming appearance made me curious to know him. Minho to me seemed like the Kai type in BeyBlade, Kaiba in Yu-Gi-Oh, Shin in Gokusen, etc., but beyond his famous image, he’s diverse.  I’ve realized since in the music video, his appearance when dancing was a focus cool guy gaze, but in interviews he’d dance with a dorky expression with every move on point.

He also did hilarious plays by imitating his character role in an enjoyable approach in his variety shows which shows his playful side and his irresistible smile that kept persuading my heart to keep up with his schedules. He really is a goof at times, but when it comes to entertaining his flames (which is his supporters), you can see how much dedication is put into everything he does. He really will surprise you with how determined he is, to go days with hardly any sleep to show his best. That is why before I started his drama spree, I knew he would be a great actor that’s very dear. I was right. He never failed to amuse me, so come along this fangirling journey while I emphasize his roles in the dramas I’ve seen so far.

To The Beautiful You

This is the first drama that I saw with Choi Min Ho and I must say it’s an interesting and meaningful storyline that I’ll forever remember throughout my life because of the most encouraging quote, “Miracle is another word for effort". Minho plays the role of a Korean high Jump athlete named Kang Tae Joon, who suffered from an injury that could end his career. He appears as an unfriendly and stern person until he found out about Gu Jae Hee secret identity. Gu Jae Hee arrives at the high school he attends, in a male disguise  and at the beginning of always meeting Tae Joon, it was always an anxious, hesitant and funny moment. The chemistry between them is so natural since they knew each other before, by working in the same music company called S.M.Entertainment. Tae Joon  made me excited like a fangirl when I saw him looking so cool. He surely has the features of a smooth mature character which made him perfect for the role and I also knew he would suit the role since Minho shares similar interest to his role. He’s athletic, so best believe he had no stunt double and also he has a passion for photography.

Medical Top Team

Someone call the Doctor! Just like Minho Juniors EXO song, I now know Minho’s love is an overdose.  I never would even attempt to watch a hospital drama since I cannot withstand blood and pretty much anything inside the body. But knowing Minho will be acting as a doctor, I had to watch Medical Top Team. I was so grateful that I was able to skip the surgery parts and still understand the drama well. Minho plays the role of Kim Sung Woo: a resident surgeon on a team in the hospital, which is formed by the best doctors from separate departments to enhance the global brand. But his role is more emphasized for his secret love for Choi Ah Jin. Choi Ah Jin co-works with Kim Sung Woo, so they are mostly always together, but she’s very clueless whenever Kim Sung Woo tries to show his affection.  I do not think Minho ever had a one-sided crush, so seeing him act as someone I never thought imaginable was astonishing and relatable. Choi Ah Jin and Kim Sung Woo friendship is just too adorable. His teasing and her love for food made the relationship even more tempting to watch.

Pianist

This is the saddest drama I've ever seen with Choi Minho. Minho plays the role of Oh Jero.  He’s really talented with the piano, but because of financial problems, he did not go to college to further his abilities. It is obvious that age is the focus of this movie because many universities are refusing him because of his age. Also, he’s in love with someone older than him that seems to be a problem in the story.  I must say the acting was not outstanding compared to his most recent acting roles, but it’s understandable since it is his first work in acting. Minho still did well since his eyes are very expressive in the movie. Honestly, I felt like the movie was rushed, which had me wanting more. But the good part about it was Oh Jero was frank with his feelings, so there was no waiting for anything to happen.

Salamander Guru and the Gang

Choi Minho's role is Choi Minhyuk, who is an adopted child that was carried to America when he was young and then he came back to Korea to find the person who killed his father. His only memory of his father’s death was seeing the murderer with a Salamander tattoo on his left arm. He came to the Salamander Guru in the belief that the Guru might help him find answers of who the killer might be. Since the Guru has dementia, which is like amnesia, Choi Minhyuk has to wait for the Guru to get back his memory. While waiting for the Guru to recover, he’s helping two thieves who are pretending to be the Guru’s Students to perform fortune telling by using his computer hacking skills. Minho's acting is somewhat close to To The Beautiful You, but he’s more vicious in finding answers and sometimes hilarious with his harsh approach. Though Choi Minhyuk seems emotionless, he’s clever which makes the drama intense. There are also castings that I was familiar with, which made the drama even more interesting because it was nice seeing Minho act in the same scene with his two band mates.

The last Drama I spoke about would not show how touching it is for me to see Minho and his band mates act together until you know about SHINee. I’ll recommend you research SHINee.

It is because they debuted on May 25,2008, so they have a bond that’s not easily broken. Choi Minho is my bias, but I do like the other members as well. They are talented with their own uniqueness which is why they were chosen to be in the same group. It’s because of that, they grew an inseparable brotherhood from the wonderful time of sharing dreams together and supporting each other throughout the hardship of training and practice.

I’ll recommend my top five songs from SHINee

Sherlock

P.S Check out Kiss Note (It's a drama with Choi Minho and his band mates, but since it was a really short drama, I did not write about it)

There are no more dramas that Minho is currently in, so I'll be sure to look out for any new drama from him. I hope you've fallen for Minho's acting like I have.
