Episode 1 to 15 is rated 10/10 but Episode 16 is 1/10

This drama is great. Very exciting and compelling from episode 1 to 15 you will get hooked until the last episode that ruin everything. They should have made the Hyun Woo suffer the consequence in the end. That Do Joo, what a poor guy. He did nothing wrong but still die in the end, while Hyun Woo run free, without consequence. And why they are look alike, not explained properly.

I was planning to rewatch it after last episode but after watching the last episode, ahh nevermind. there are other upcoming and ongoing dramas that is good also. I just have to ask, why why why is the ending like that. I felt rob on my time and effort watching this. Well at least I had to commend the acting and music which are all great, 10/10 infact. And as I said its 10/10 from episode 1 to 15. I will never forget this drama because of the ending LOL

2022 AND ITS ENDING CURSED

Don't know what's up with 2022 and the drama endings ... i mean things are going very well but 16 episode and all in the bucket .
This drama was in my top list drama .... the story.. the acting... the cast.. the music everything was very well made up to top notch but the ending was very unexpected although it made sense, was a logical way to end the drama but it did not satisfied me at all .
The drama could have been one of the best for me but ending left with me an unsatisfied desire although some will find it a LOGICAL due to the repentance way of writer but still i wanted to see the completed revenge arc.
But still it's an top rating drama with a top notch story ,cast and production so give it a try.

The Ending is Understandable but Underwhelming

Overall, it was a solid drama. I think the only reason why I was a bit underwhelmed by the ending was that the build-up throughout the drama was crazy. I loved the first 12 episodes so so much. I was hooked because I am a b**** for anti-hero plots. I love any story where the main character gets their revenge on the people that looked down on them, and this was exactly the drama that hit those points.

I also love the transmigration genre. I love reading transmigration manhwas, so seeing how this genre was made into a drama with Song Joong Ki... I was sold.

Song Joong Ki sure knows how to pick a good drama. His acting in this one is phenomenal as per usual. He is so expressive and eloquent, which makes every scene so much better. His chemistry with Lee Sung Min was also amazing. They were such a powerful grandfather-grandson duo.

The romance for a bit unnecessary to be honest. This is coming from a person that watches 90% romance dramas. I feel like Do Jun would have been better(?) off focusing on revenge rather than love. This was the one criticism I had with this drama.

As stated in the title of this review, the ending was understandable. I actually did get goosebumps when I finally realized the truth behind the drama and the Hyun Woo/Do Jun situation. I just feel like for how powerful the plot was in the beginning and middle-- the ending was a mood-dropper. Not in a bad way, but it just felt out of place. However, I do hope that people who were disappointed with the ending understand why everything happened the way it did (refer back to Hyun Woo's revelation in the last episode).

I Hate-Love it

This drama had it all but then blew it at the same time. Everyone had an issue with the ending but for me it was everything else but the ending. There are so many loopholes that made my brain hurt. Whereas the ending I thought was apt for this drama and did justice to the one who needed it the most. Jin Do Jun.

I thought of dropping this drama at episode 10 and checked all the comments here and saw how most of them was angry about the ending. I saw the spoilers and reading from them I had the anger was justifiable. I still went ahead thinking I don't want to quit at episode 10 and see it to the end and but once I was done with this drama I realized this ending was what would have made sense for every other loopholes and unexplained incidents this drama had throughout.

It makes perfect sense that Hyeon Woo ended up in Do Jun's body. HW had the front row seat of having to relive Do Jun's entire life, full fill his dream of being a CEO and fall in love, for all of it to be destroyed by his real self. So it was fated for and karma for Hyeon Woo to feel that angst and loss... and then to wake up to realizes what he had been a part of. This drama was never about Hyeon Woo embarking on revenge for the betrayal but rather for Jin Do Jun getting his justice after 20 years.

And it also made perfect sense that Hyeon Woo never ending up with Min Young or disclosing his secret because as he said to her when he was Do Jun, he never deserved her and he knows that he never will. So I am glad that they never gave them the happily ever after.

This drama would have been amazing if it was a tight script but that is wishful thinking in dramaland. I really enjoyed the Lee Seung Min's performance as Chairman Jin... Song Joong Ki and him was a treat to watch onscreen and that was what made me get through this drama. His characters death did make me give it up but just had to see the infamous ending.

review that has to be 500 words

A wonderful and exciting series and song joongki did a amazing job at playing his role and all of the cast as well did an amazing job but the ending is questionable and thus the reason why overall I gave it a 9.5. There was many moments that just made my heart break and there’s not that much shows that can do that. But once again, I must say that the ending is definitely a ending that’s very controversial.

The writers definitely had guts to finish the show with such an ending. But nevertheless, you should watch the show as the cast work very hard to make the storyline come to life and it was a very fun experience watching and waiting for each episode to come out

Started off strong and left me with a meh feeling, but overall, okay.

I picked up Reborn Rich because of Song Joong Ki, I loved him in Vincenzo and I will admit the trailer is pretty good. I should preface and say that I’m usually a rom-com kind of gal or a romance melo-drama. I don’t usually pick up dramas that are theme around scheming, taking-down-the-“man” or rich verse poor kind of storyline, but I do watch those shows depending on the casting (i.e. Itaewon class).

I’m glad I watched this drama as it aired because after the first 6 episodes, I’m not sure I could binge watch Reborn Rich. The show is very intense, a lot of up and downs.

The casting was on-point for the drama. It’s a large cast, but everyone played their role very well and you kind of needed all the husbands / wives, aunties / uncles and cousins. It really gave the storyline some depth and a lot of characters to play with.

I liked that it was a historical kind of show, set in the 90’s. I’m 100% the target audience for this drama (late 30 year old). I understood all the major events that took place and I’m a finance major, so the financial part of the drama was my jam and I really enjoyed watching those parts.

I liked the relationship between the Jin Do Joon (ML) and Jin Yang Cheol (the grandfather) the best! Those were probably the best moments of the show. I also liked that the cover focused on these two characters because it truly was the heart of the show.

The romance aspect of the show is (I’m afraid to say) a major joke and shouldn’t have been written in. It was very awkward and cringy, which is sad to say because I love romance dramas.

I found the beginning a little intense and over-the-top, but I get it, it sets the stage on how awful the family is. Once the ML got into his role and the story began, I really enjoyed it. It felt like the underdog was going to get his day and each episode was another obstacle the ML was going to overcome.

Towards the end, I felt like the show was dragging a bit and a lot of things unraveling became tiresome to watch. It felt like there wasn’t any movement and the ML was just hitting brick wall after brick wall, let’s just say a lot of actors were yelling in their scenes.

And then you get the ending, where you will read A LOT of mixed reviews. I will say, this show is artsy and I understand why the actor picked this script, on paper, it sounds really interesting and cool, but to me, it felt a little anti-climatic and you wondered, was the drama worth watching?

I can’t answer that. I gave the drama a 9 rating, because, I did overall, liked most of the drama. I enjoyed the casting and the sets and costumes were really cool. I loved that it took place in the past and the storyline was centered around finances. I’m just not sure how the drama concluded everything, it was a little lack-luster in my opinion.

Excellent start and journey that didn't stick the landing.

Captivating start and journey which gave a sour taste at the end cause the landing didn't stick for me
Unsatisfying ending (didn't like with the way Do Jin died without getting to see him rub his victory hand in front of those called his family. And...YES one can say life isn't all rosy but still...it bugs me. And the way they treated the older grandson's wife where she had a significant role and then took her back to the backseat. There were others that I didn't enjoy but there were a lot of things that I found enjoyable throughout the time I was watching it.
I'm being generous with my rating because the first 14 (15 for bits we got in it) were captivating.

Worth your time!

I just finished watching this show and it’s amazing.
The acting. The chemistry. The antagonist that makes me want to punch them and OFcourse the revenge was on POINT.

It was somewhat confusing how he was born again… but the ending kinda showed it.

But overalls. I love it. Would honesty recommend if y’all
Like revenge in a SLICK way❤️
Honestly. This drama really fits Song Joong Ki. And especially seeing him in a college style omg that’s FFF HOT

A great drama with a common plot

And I really mean it. The main plot is really common. Both the reincarnation thing and the coglomerate family that can do anything, even above the law. The real magic of this drama is the characters, the cast and the plot twists. Each one of the family have their unique personality that is absolutely realistic. Also, the cast is phenomenal. They handpicked each actor/actress with great care. I really believe this type of anti-hero, morraly quastionable charecters suits a lot more in Song Joong Gi.

The other interesting thing is the plot twist and what hold me back from drop it. As much as I love SJG, as much as I loved the cast and the characters, I really really didin't care for the laws and the business system in Korea and in general (also I know nothing about these things and sometimes I couldn't follow what the hell was going on), nor for the family matters and the succesions of crazy rich people. But this drama has so many great plot twists that I kept watching with interest.

In conclusion, I really liked it. It is actually a great drama. Just the plot and the theme was not my cap of tea. It is just my personal, subjective opinion. I really recommended it.

(English is not my native language, so sorry for any mistakes)

The story is solid with a gripping storyline

The story built was excellent with incredible momentum.

The story starts with a poor guy after getting killed by the owners of the Sunyang Group that he worked for, waking up as a rich grandson of a chaebol family some 30+ years into the past. From there on, with his identity as the rich grandson Jin Do Jun, he starts a mission to buy the said Sunyang Group which led to his demise in his previous life. The next 15 episodes tell the story of JDJ and how he works hard to create his own company while fighting his uncles and cousins and at the same time going against his very powerful grandfather and the owner of Sunyang Group. The fight was hard but it was worth it. He used every cell and energy in his body to achieve his target. 10+ years after his rebirth he did manage to achieve his dream, that is to acquire Sunyang Group and thereby almost came close to achieving his ultimate goal, removing the management succession policy in the group. Every minute of watching his struggle for the goal was worth watching. From how he juggled his money and how he manipulated everyone around him with his knowledge of the future. Those moments were exciting and exhilarating.

BUT, the catch comes in the final episode. And I felt like the building blocks gradually collapsed each minute of the final episode. Because in the end, all those exhilarating moments I've been watching for the past 15 episodes over 2-3 weeks, ended up in the deep sea without even making a 'plop' sound. All those moments JDJ spent his very cell and energy on building, collapsed in a moment of his death and our protagonist gets transported back to square one, the poor guy version. But the main reason for my disappointment is that all the emotions that I spent on this drama added up to a futile finale. JDJ/YHW managed to achieve his ultimate goal of removing the management succession policy in the group, but he was left with nothing in the end. He won, but his effort rendered no reward and nobody understood his commitment.

This is a star-studded drama and the cast duly created a perfect performance. The story is solid with a gripping storyline, but there is one downside and that is the timeline. If one doesn't focus properly on the timeline, then one will at one point lose themselves in the plot. Because at some points there are time skips from months to years and even decades, and only by keeping up with the story can one keep up with the timeline as well.

Although there are too many characters in the story, for this drama I didn't see it as a downside. Because all these characters had their own separate roles, it was easy to keep up with the story without being confused.

And last, of all, there was a brief love story but that too ended up in the deep sea without even making a splash.

I really don't want to judge all of the other 15 episodes, just for the one final episode, but in the end, I just can't help not doing it.

P.S. - The OST is SUPER awesome. I'm listening to them on repeat.

Song Joong Ki is after riches again, just like his previous series, Vincenzo. This time he does it mostly by himself without being backed by a stable gang in the already mentioned series. Here is the quest to also avenge his own death. Fortunately, he gets to relive his life since childhood and try to find out the truth. The kid who plays him as a youngster does an outstanding job getting to play him for an entire episode. There are similarities with Again my life where the male lead gets to live his life again. He has facts in hand for what happened in the previous life, so he knows what will happen.
There are a lot of financial elements, as it involves business finance. Also how to think about investing, long-term goals above all. The company is a large group that will undergo major reorganizations. It's a real chaebol story, about a very large corporate conglomerate. Great focus on politics with, as in Eve, both family politics with all owners and national politics. The business owner has a large family with children and grandchildren. The grandfather is truly outstanding and lives his character well. His large family makes it a bit complicated to keep track of their roles. Although they have been given numbered nicknames that each have a part in it.
There are also elements of historical events such as in Through the darkness. However, nothing the series revolves around, but they say what time period it is about. Features from the late 1980s, from 1987 to the present. Feels like important historical flashbacks to learn. Even if it is not in focus. A few of these events revolve around the series which makes it partially based on reality without being so. Sometimes becomes a lesson in economic history from a Korean perspective. Without being boring at all. Legal elements are included, if the company lives as transparently as it is not suspected to be. There are a few and well-known western references are also there.
Just like in Itaewon Class, uses his opponent's biography to be able to bring him down in the future. Where the biography describes the elder's life, success and resistance. However, Joong Ki's reborn character lives parallel to everyone else so he knows a lot about more about everyone else. He never divulges important details about his goals. There are some who help him along the way in their own ways. It is not only money in focus that is his goal, there are other important motives that make his life more interesting.
This is so much better than Again my life. More drama and a big psychological game between all parties. Not very many physically demanding confrontations, but here he fights the back way, intellectually and sensibly. He goes outside his grandfather's traditional way of dealing with power and the conglomerate. There are some similarities with Little Women, which deals with business finance as well. But also the view of money, both from a poor person's perspective as well as a rich one. Just like Extraordinary Attorney Woo, the viewership has skyrocketed from the first episode to the last. In addition, already passed the mentioned series at the 8th episode and breaks records basically every time almost. It also holds its own record many times over and became the second most watched series to date. A great and well-executed family drama that should be seen. Very interesting!!!!!!

Solid Show!

Just finished Reborn Rich on Viki.

Excellent show.

A chaebol-rivalry melodrama with slight elements of fantasy and romance. Without question, this show conveys the ruthlessness and ugliness of greed. The show has a consistently raw and serious tone throughout save the early episodes where the protagonist goes back in time and we see some epochal moments of world history that many of us who lived through those times in the 90's and 00's would remember (first generation K-pop group Seo Taiji & The Boys; Titanic). That's as light-hearted as it gets in this show. Most of the likable characters have almost no screen time in this show so you spend most of it with very unlikable characters, but the actors playing them are all excellent.

The most fascinating aspect of the show is the almost mentor/protege relationship between the characters played by Song Joong-Ki and Lee Sung-Min. Not sure I would call Song Joong-Ki's character likable, but you understand where he's coming from as he's getting revenge. Lee Sung-Min's character is a horrible person, but Lee's performance is so fascinating and 3-dimensional, you can't stop watching it. He chews up every scene he's in.

As far as the romance between Song Joong-Ki and Shin Hyun-Bin's characters, not sure if it was because the script didn't have enough scenes or they just didn't have chemistry, but I didn't buy into their romance at all. It felt more like a friendship to me than a romance. Both of their performances were strong.

Many were unhappy with the ending, but I found it to be very satisfying, albeit anticlimactic. If you K-Drama fans like a "happy ending", I think you'll be satisfied.

Highly recommended!
