Meiko is disappointed when Yutaro returns from the Kendo match, and mentions the gentle Tamiko. However, Sakurako and Tamiko say that Yutaro likes "a person who eats a lot and looks cheerful". Immediately after that, Meiko is told by the literary scholar Muroi that "she makes me feel more energetic," and suddenly becomes confused that Yutaro likes her.
At that time, a male customer was injured because the stairs on the front of Kaimeiken were broken.
