Now this is how you do live-action!

As a diehard Dakaichi fan, I can assure you—this is going to be a masterpiece. Well done to the actors, crew, and everyone involved!
When I first heard Dakaichi was getting a live-action adaptation, I was so nervous. But after watching the first two episodes, I can confidently say they put in their best effort—and it shows. It’s not an exact copy, but that’s exactly what I wanted.
Especially I loved how they introduced Jin from the beginning of his acting career. They’ve included a lot of background stories, but everything fits together perfectly.
Not to mention, they referenced Sigma Company while hinting at other major companies—we can see that.
Now, my only concern is with portraying Jin/Junta. His character is really complex—someone who can be both happy and angry (also perverted ) at the same time. To put it simply, he’s a lovable psychopath, and I adore him. It’s a challenging role, but I love Smart as Jin! I’ve followed his career from the start, and he’s come a long way. I really hope he continues to improve and do even better as he brings out Jin’s depth in this role!
One thing I can confirm for sure—the upcoming weeks will be filled with romance, romance, and more romance! The actors have undeniable tension and chemistry, and Akin (boom) absolutely nailed his role. He mirrors the anime version perfectly—there’s not even the slightest change. He is amazing.
Finally, when I saw the angelic jin with the wings, I couldn’t help but laugh out loud. That moment assured me—this series is going to be one of the best. I can’t wait to see what’s next!
(One thing I noticed is that they sometimes drag the movie shooting scenes a bit. I’m not saying it’s boring, but at times, I don’t quite get the plot within those scenes. It makes me wonder why they’re delivering so much dialogue that doesn’t seem necessary for the original plot. But the acting is good so we can forget about that part.)

I’ve been waiting for forever!!!!!

Omg, I literally remember watching the anime adaptation and the manga like so many years ago! I was soooooo happy that there was finally a live adaptation because I’ve been waiting for this to get enough attention for a live action for soooo long! Also, so far it hasn’t disappointed me at all, the acting is so good in this live action and the actors pulling off this story just takes me back to when I watched the anime and read the manga. It makes me really sentimental and each episode so far has always made me feel something that really pulls the audience in and connects them with the characters. Also, I always can’t wait for the next episode to come out, which isn’t a usual reaction for me. I always find it really hard to get so addicted to a series that I genuinely am so excited to watch every week when the next episode comes out, but with this show I can’t not watch it. So when it comes to wanting to find a really good series to watch, I really recommend this one 😊💜

fire chemistry

Overall: excellent chemistry. This series is based on the Japanese manga "Dakaichi: I'm Being Harassed by the Sexiest Man of the Year" which was later an anime. I haven't read/watched them and am reviewing the series on its own merits. 11 episodes about 40 minutes each. Airing on WeTV https://wetv.vip/en/play/d1z6o64bu16ncf3

What I Liked
- visuals

- laughed a few times

Room For Improvement
- started with a flash forward montage
- the non con kiss
- *the hair was covering Jin's eyes too much in some scenes
- comedy sound effects did not enhance the comedy
- deducted half a point after episode 6, I don't think they are going to address the victim blaming or have appropriate consequences for someone who should be in jail
- (neutral) the NSFW in episode 4 was too fast/choppy for my taste
- (neutral) confused by the wings, apparently that is something from the manga

Better than Expected

First, some BLs are a bit cringy (intimate scenes) for me. But TF shows the intimate scenes with more passion and romance if you ask me. The acting is top-notch, from the main cast to the supporting cast. The music is fantastic, and the angles of the (camera) film were great as well. Sometimes, the camera shakes (in other films) a little, and I hate that. The costume scenes were filled with conviction, and overall, I've seen some of the trailers for future episodes, and it should continue along these lines. All intimate scenes should be done with this level of attention and filming how two people falling in love begins. I believe the audience can recall what they felt like when they began falling for someone. Wow, so far impressed. Tons of chemistry.

A great start, goodloking leads, and NO, you don't feel like comapring with the anime

I want a disciple like Jin, like right now.....and I'm so in love with Jin's cute angel wings that pop up when he's paying special attention to Akin :D

BL-needle Score: 9. Very High BL-ness

I'm loving it so far....they're both so good looking and damn cute together. The usual compulsion to compare it with the anime was not really too high....but NGL, I did compare nonetheless, and didn't feel like I have to love this series any less than the anime...given how much I liked Dakaichi (the anime series), that is a big nod to how well they have adapted the story and made it their own...

And it was hilarious that they made the owner of a Thai drink brand in episode 1 as annoying as the drinks products inserts always are in the BL shows...legit...I was so clapping... :P

Episode 2 and 3 did a great job towards the build-up of two things - firts, an electric tension between Akin and Jin, mostly driven by Akin's insecurities and emotional mistrust....and second, the complete antithesis of that mistrust in the form of the overflowing adulation and puppy-dog-like love Jin has for Akin....this is just awwwwww

It IS trope-y, and I'm sure there will be some debate on that kiss (non-consensual, etc.)....but I'm glad that they stayed true to the spirit and energy of the original anime...

Smart and Boom both do a fantastic job so far...I'm definitely sat.. this one promises to be an entertaining show

Quality BL but full of communication problems

First 4 episodes were really solid. The amount of hard work the company put into this! Production quality is really top notch. Boom & Smart are really great actors, adorable, handsome, gave their best, every expression was on point, have nice chemistry, so far so good. I cried watching their first (crying) scene together. Since ep 5, I'm seeing Akin's trust issues & communication problems. Things I disliked -
1. Akin slept with him & was really down bad for him but didn't become an official couple. He knows Jin loves him. What a situationship.
2. After ep 6, Akin didn't come clean to Jin & constantly denied about that night. I hated this thing. Just accept what happened to you & fight against a rapist together with your lover. No, he even got out of Jin's car & cried. What's the point of crying, now?
Though I'm dropping this, I'm giving an 8 for everything except Akin's character.
