QUE VIBE MARAVILHOSA

Eu amei isso aqui, a história tem uma pegada intimista que me ganhou muito. É caseiro, é aconchegante e é intenso.
Mizuki é um meteorologista que fica no ar 3 horas por dia e o Yoh assiste seu programa religiosamente enquanto trabalha em seus mangás (na casa deles, pois eles moram juntos).
O relacionamento deles é contado aos poucos, pouco a pouco você vai voltando pro passado e entendendo de onde surgiu essa relação e como ela chegou em um patamar romântico.
A vibe que a música, iluminação e tom trazem é indescritível e me prendeu do início ao fim, e quando o fim chegou eu queria mais. Eu queria mais do seu relacionamento confuso e intenso, eu queria mais da possessividade do Mizuki e eu queria mais da submissão do Yoh.
Não pense que é um relacionamento abusivo pois é mostrado como cada um deles tem suas próprias necessidades e um fornece o que o outro precisa e quer, é uma história que vai sendo desenrolada e entendida com o passar dos episódios e você entende as motivações de cada um.
Assistam, é muito bom e diferente do que geralmente é feito no mundinho BL.

He can't talk about his feelings and is angry that the other guy doesn't understand how he feels

I don't know if I hate it or love it. The story is well written and the characters are realistic and multi-layered after all. But this was so frustrating to watch, like what kind of situationship is this?? For once, I don't understand, why didn't Segasaki just confess when he was making the proposal at the start. Wanting your crush to live at your house as your "slave" is weird, but it's much weirder to ask a friend you don't even know that well to do that. Also, Segasaki literally sleeps with his "slave" all the time, and him still acting like he's not in love with Yoh makes this situation even weirder. Also, I would really like to know how that even started. Did he just randomly come onto Yoh and Yoh accepted it as "part of their deal" or what the fuck happened? I honestly don't think they ever even talk about it. Yes, Yoh is dense but please please Segasaki can't you once tell him what you really feel and not try to show it indirectly.
And him stalking Yoh (after not allowing him to go to work?!?!?) and tying Yoh up out of jealousy is not cool. I mean Yoh liked being tied up, but it's still too much. His weird jealousy was also really annoying and that Yoh just accepted not being allowed to leave the house was frustrating. Their power-dynamic was honestly weird (Yoh is completely dependent on Segasaki) and that made Yoh not being able to speak his mind freely, not a good situation to start a relationsship.
Segasaki also said other really possessive problematic stuff, but I think he didn't mean it seriously? At least I hope so...

And the worst part of all of this is, that till the end they never had a real talk about their feelings (only "I like you" in the last episode) or about their relationship (they kinda confessed to each other, but it didn't change anything?? they didn't even seem to be happy after hearing it lol??). It feels like almost nothing happened in 8 episodes. And if Segasaki already knew that Yoh likes him, why would he not confess to Yoh in the beginning??? He already knows that he won't be rejected? Whyyyy???? And why would he treat Yoh so coldly in the beginning, only talking to him about what he wants to eat and when he will be at work and when not. At this point Yoh was literally just a maid and that's it. Obviously Yoh wouldn't think that Segasaki likes him when being treated so coldly??

And till the end I'm still not sure who Segasaki is. Is he really just cold (like he was on the "date" with Yoh) or is he actually a nice guy like he was to Yoh in university? I understand Yoh completely, but Segasaki? I still don't understand why he does things the way he does it.

This was one of the most frustrating BL's I ever watched, but I couldn't stop watching it. I actually don't mind the miscommunication-trope (if it ended after the 3th episode I would have loved this series), but here it was dragged on to long. For example in My beautiful man, Hira is even denser than Yoh, but that's why Kiyoi works hard to communicate with him better. But here? Their communication only got slightly better, but it's still a mess. Segasaki is frustrated that Yoh doesn't want to consider his feelings, but Segasaki was acting so confusedly, and also it is not Yoh's job to figure out Segasaki's true feelings. Just say it yourself you coward and don't blame Yoh. Have you even considered Yoh's feelings? How confused HE feels because of your actions???

I'm sure some of you will eat this up, but this is not my type of "kink", I'm not the biggest fan of characters like Segasaki. I mean I love me a tsundere, and I love a cold-on-the-outside character, but here? Here there was something missing to make me actually like Segasaki. Maybe it's because till the end he doesn't lay of his cold "mask" or his jealousy.

The chemistry and visual of the mains really pull me to watch this series and it turns out a good series. Well the only thing I hate here was their lack of communication they definitely love each other but yeah it really triggers me how they dont even try to communicate with each other but still I finished this series WHAHAHAHA

But their body language really said I love you in every way possible but I think they are dense WHAHAHAHA

Actually shooked about the behavior of the both character... but yeah as the story goes I understand the both of them... They really find the peace and love in each others arm

Not bad but not good

Usually I am okay with toxic relationships for the purpose of a story, but Segasaki aggravated me a lot. You know the actors did well when you really hate the character they play. Segasaki never redeems himself in any type of way and when he is meant to be seen as a better person, it misses because he never actually proves anything. Yoh seems desperate for a man who really just wants to own him and shows little regard for his feelings. I did really enjoy Yoh's friend, the girl and her husband. Also, am I the only one who thinks Yoh should have been more mad about the fact HE PUT A TRACKER IN HIS BAG? TO FOLLOW HIM TO HIS FRIENDS HOUSE WHEN HE WANTED TO BE AWAY? No one said a thing and all Yoh did was return the tracker? Insane.

Only works cause it’s fiction at its finest

I personally enjoyed watching this for the most part. It was short and sort of sexy and ”sweet” in the toxic kind of way that’s okay when it’s fiction.

My biggest issue aside from well the obvious.. was that the series didn’t really end anywhere? It felt like there was still a bunch missing? It just ended very abruptly I didn’t even realise it was the end until I saw the ending credits?

If you just need something to entertain you for a short while and you don’t mind morally questionable relationships, you’ll probably be okay watching this. Otherwise maybe skip this one.

toxic relationship or depiction of real life or both!!!

Many people express this series as a toxic relationship, but if you really think about it the creator of this series is just giving an example of real-life.

One of the biggest problems in society these days is people have trouble with communication. Everything is a touch of a button on a mobile device or a swipe to the left or right so to speak. once people are face to face, they often don't know how to express themselves they because they can't just hit a button and show the other person their happy, they have to say it or show it which is where the lack of communication comes in. When people can't express how they feel or fear they might come off in the wrong way it causes miscommunication.

This series that appears as a toxic one-sided relationship is actually a depiction of the struggles people go thru in life with each other when neither side knows how to express their feelings leading to frustration anxiety and misunderstanding. This series shows how people express these frustrations and anxieties in different ways.

To anyone looking for a lovey dovey show please skip this one.
If anyone is looking for the pure emotional side of ups and downs in a relationship, please watch.

Really unique and different

When I watched this drama I was very confused by the storyline, I wasn't sure what the relationship between the two were until it was explained. This romance is completely unrealistic but very entertaining to watch. The drama didn't have any moments where I got bored or felt uninterested. It's a drama that one could watch in one go, the urge to watch more episodes is crazy. The characters both went through necessary character development which was satisfying to see. This drama was a twist of many different emotions. Overall I recommend it to bl fans. I haven't watched too much bl's but this one was surprisingly really good.

Story

I know a lot of viewers were not very pleased with this BL due to the way Yho was being treated but I took it for what it was a drama and thoroughly enjoyed it. Yho was depicted as a loner and fell for Segasaki otherwise he wouldn't have been in a relationship with him toxic or otherwise.Loved both actors .. Both very cute.For some reason Japanese actors are incredible at showing their emotions Love..Excitement...Happiness..Sadness. Segasaki was very cohesive in his behaviour but Yho
fought back and also when drunk his feelings came to the fore so he wasn't completely taken over.. Segasaki was put in his place more than once. You have many people in life who are very submissive to someone's feelings and they live like that. They prefer not to walk away.Yes I will watch it again.

A little unusual & confusing, but worth the watch

There are so many stunning shots of the two men going about their daily routines, sitting in baths, eating meals together and laying on each other’s lap. It hurts my eyes because the both of them look so ridiculously beautiful from every angle.

But beautiful men aside, My Personal Weatherman is perhaps one of the most unusual and confusing Japanese BLs I’ve watched recently.

The relationship between Mizuki and Yoh is insanely ambiguous and yet, painfully unambiguous at the same time.

When Yoh ties his self worth to books he has sold, it’s only because he wants to be good enough for the wildly successful Mizuki, who has made a name for himself in his field.

When Mizuki is quiet around Yoh, it’s because he has dropped his mask – he is finally free to be his exhausted, introverted self around a person he trusts the most. Not Mizuki the talented meteorologist, not Mizuki the popular weatherman, not Mizuki the handsome idol.

Just Mizuki. A man who has found a place to rest his weary soul.

the actors were just about the only good thing in this show. i have 2 major complaints:

1. the romanticism of mizuki’s sexual coercion is horrendous. i know that’s pretty common in bls but that doesn’t make it any better, plus it’s not even used as a form of “character development” here because he keeps it up til the very end. i firmly believe they could’ve made the plot just as, if not way more, compelling by removing the whole obligatory sex thing and all the scenes where mizuki forces himself onto yoh.

2. the plot goes absolutely nowhere, in fact it goes in circles. every time it seems like they’ve communicated their feelings and things are looking up, one of them (usually mizuki) overreacts about a misunderstanding and then they’re back to square one. even by the end they haven’t communicated their feelings properly and are just in another lull phase whilst misunderstandings continue to brew underneath.

obrigada japão por servir a nação global com bls interessantes

eu gostei! definitivamente uma relação dom/sub com dominador e submisso caindo no susto numa relação sexual e (!!) amorosa bdsm de primeira viagem. uma coisa é ter uma relação dom/sub consensual sexual... outra coisa (infinitamente mais complexa) é ter uma relação dom/sub amorosa. aparentemente, yoh e mizuki estão tentando fazer isso funcionar. kudos para eles! e boa sorte para eles também rs ambos os coitados se sentem indignos de amor a sua própria maneira: yoh tem auto estima baixíssima (uma narrativa bastante comum para história de personagens submissos... eu adoro o tema, é tão incansável quanto razoável, mas seria interessante ver algo diferente, um dia)), e mizuki é extremamente inseguro afetivamente - por isso o excesso de performance; por isso a dificuldade de ser vulnerável e honesto e direto com yoh (e também em suas relações passadas, com "amigos").

eu não acho que o problema entre os dois seja o de falta comunicação, necessariamente. yoh e mizuki se comunicam. aliás, é por esse motivo que eles se aproximaram para início de conversa. a comunicação é falha? sim, rs, porque os seres humanos são ótimos nisso. o que eles precisam é... criar intimidade amorosa (que foi o que aconteceu no ep em que yoh teve o episódio depressivo; aconteceu no último ep, com mizuki finalmente confessando que gostaria de ser recebido com carinho/atenção depois do trabalho). eles precisam afinar a comunicação. precisam, quem sabe, criar para si uma nova linguagem, já que a relação deles não é miojo rs: é bem peculiar e particular, tanto para os padrões de "normalidade" de relacionamentos, quanto para eles próprios. amei a cena em que mizuki amarrou as mãos de yoh, apelando para as táticas dominadoras para exigir do namorado algo que ele poderia conseguir... simplesmente conversando, explicando, pedindo, esclarecendo. ele foi todo controlador e um minuto depois retirou o que disse, pedindo para yoh esquecer o que ele havia feito. afinal: bdsm não é bagunça rs. e principalmente: não é abuso. li em algum portal de bdsm que apesar do dominar ser quem dita as regras, o real controle está nas mãos do submisso, que decide os limites da relação. isso é importante porque sim, finalmente yoh admite para si e para mizuki que gosta de ser "intimidado" (em outras palavras, ele gosta de ser sub na relação com o mizuki). mas isso é evidentemente uma experiência contraditória para yoh: ele não acha "normal" gostar de ser assim. em vários momentos yoh demonstra desconforto com a dominação amorosa (isto é, fora dos limites sexuais) de mizuki, e ainda parece ter dificuldade de expressar isso. é verdade que a dinâmica da série faz lembrar muito os meus amadinhos de My Beautiful Man (Hira e Kyoi), mas neste ponto, do desconforto, o Hira (sub, ao meu ver, na relação amorosa com kyoi) e yoh se diferenciam imensamente: Hira sempre se sentiu muito em paz muito ok com o fato de idolatrar e obedecer e, enfim, ser sub do kiyoi. por outro lado, tanto hira quanto yoh não conseguem aceitar/entender o amor de seus respectivos namorados (porque eles se sentem muito insignificantes)... porque yoh não consegue se ver merecedor do amor do mizuki, ele constantemente evita ser um fardo para a relação (isso já terrível porque além da baixa auto estima ele literalmente depende financeiramente do mizuki). isso significa que yoh se retrai, ele finge, não diz o que pensa -- basicamente se anula na relação, e só se permite exprimir quando está bêbado ou em episódio depressivo ou doente (por isso mizuki gosta dele bêbado e "doente"). esta foi/têm sido uma dificuldade na relação do yoh com mizuki. yoh só associa o seu prazer submisso às suas inseguranças, e se sente culpado por isso, porque acha que deveria ser melhor, e deveria "odiar mizuki" e "amar a si mesmo", e coisa do tipo. mas ele também não sai desse impasse.

na gama de possíveis leituras de conexões entre esta série e My Beautiful Man, temos também a rigidez/embotamento emocional disfarçado dos "dom": mizuki é obviamente um dominador cadelinha do yoh: ele está totalmente apaixonando entregue enamorado pelo bichinho, mas não consegue confessar isso a não ser que seja através de leitura ambígua em voz alta de mangá, ou a partir de "brincadeirinhas". coisa parecida a gente assistiu com Kyoi, e sua dificuldade de admitir a necessidade por afeto [do hira, especificamente], bem como o seu amor por ele. isso parece configurar, tanto para mizuki quanto foi para kiyoi, uma fraqueza de caráter que os tornaria automaticamente indesejáveis aos olhos de seus meninos, ou coisa parecida.

enfim. mizuki e yoh são uns queridos. dei muita risada com uns absurdos de obsessão e humilhação que esta série proporcionou. é por essas e outras que amo bons bls com dinâmicas típicas bdsm (ou qualquer outra trope que deixe nítida certas dinâmica de poder, como age gap, ou diferença em classe social etc): essas dinâmicas escancaram, por "exagero" ou "excesso", aspectos bastante comuns das relações ditas "não tóxicas" ou """""""nOrmAiS""""""": ciúmes; ações irracionais; exposição; o desejo incabível de posse sobre o outro, e como navegá-lo na vida prática; inseguranças inseguranças inseguranças ("o amor é sempre tão vergonhoso?", yoh se pergunta); a necessidade básica de afeto e cuidado e gentileza; o fato da escuta ser vital para boa (e qualquer) relação que se preze... este bl soube trabalhar esses temas de uma forma muita bem feita. nada aprofundado, mas também nada insignificante.

terminei a série jurando que haveria um nono ep rs. não pude acreditar que o drama acabou do jeito que foi: há de haver outra temporada! se for o caso, espero ver mais da história pessoal de cada um dos leads. gostei do casal, mas não me senti excepcionalmente apaixonada por eles porque não sinto que a série nos trouxe infos cativantes o bastante sobre yoh e mizuki individualmente para isso acontecer. quem sabe numa outra season? isso seria perfeito.

no mais: foi uma experiência gostosinha. aura intimista. a amizade de yoh com a otaku não pareceu forçada, o que é um alívio, e não me senti cansada do ambiente doméstico (a química dos leads contribuiu e muito). gostei!
