Inotsume Tomoko, a recent graduate, is being set up for marriage by her family. She, however, is not at all keen on her marriage and insists that she becomes a career woman. For her, a degree is not just a tool for assisting her husband, but rather, it is a way to contribute to society. Her parents, however, don't agree with her, and she finally decides to choose a man with whom she can have a life as an equal with mutual respect for each other.
