Both drama have sombre tones.... the subtlety, the vibes and the feels are very similar....
Both dramas have FLs who feel too much... then internalise their pain while outwardly they remain cold... the acting in both dramas makes them a treat to watch.... the trunk has more mature scenes though...

The story is also about a matchmaker agency through which a woman wants to take revenge on her rival. The past and various intrigues slowly bring the characters together to form the big picture.

FL also worked as a temporary wife for men in need of a temporary, contract marriage. “Love In Contract” was a comedy however. “The Trunk” seems like a dark thriller mystery.

Leads are two lonely, broken people; similar dynamics to Lost's. Both dramas have a slow-burn plot, with a somber tone.

- Leads in both are broken and heal each other
- both have unique music scores
- both have dark vibes against the romance
- both male leads need to heal from previous relationships
- adult romance
- male leads are not attracted to the fl at first because they are forced to be together (parents, contract)

No Inji reminds me a lot of Moon Dongeun. The two female leads play broken characters whose pain is so visceral on screen and almost tangible. Seo Hyun Jin and Song Hye Kyo depict internal external pain in almost similar ways, to the point I worried for their health. However they also depict incredible strength despite their pain.

Romance-as-business crossed with murder mystery is a rare narrative format. But both The Trunk and Light The Night serve it beautifully. The former leans more heavily into the romance side of things whereas Light The Night delves more into intrigue.

Both "Connection" and "The Trunk" are dramas centered around a mystery. While "Connection" does not include any romantic elements in its plot, the character dynamics are quite similar to those in "The Trunk." Suspense builds progressively from episode to episode in both dramas. All the actors in both series are highly acclaimed ones who can actually ACT. However, "The Trunk" features more angst in its characters compared to "Connection". But the plot of both dramas revolves around a mystery in that sense these dramas are very much similar.

Both dramas start with fake relationship and story about broken people that meet and heal each other. In FMIYM, FL might be a cheerful girl in half of the story. But she also had share of broken story which were forgotten

Marriage Contract (2016) is similar because it has contract marriage
After being diagnosed with a possibly terminal brain tumor, Kang Hye Soo, a desperate single mother, agrees to be a liver donor for her new boss’ mother. In exchange, she will receive a significant sum of money that she hopes to leave to her daughter. In order to pass the screening process, they must legally wed and convince the hospital that they’ve been in a long-term relationship. What they foolishly thought would be a quiet transaction between the two of them, quickly becomes more complicated as more people get involved, including her 7-year-old daughter. Money isn’t the only thing required for happiness, and love makes life worth living.
