A Lackluster Decline: When a Script Goes Off Course
I couldn't help but wonder if the writer experienced burnout halfway through the script or perhaps became overly medicated, leading to a loss of clarity. The quality of the script undeniably plummeted. We tuned in for an intricate revenge plot and got a hot mess of nonsensical actions instead. And let's talk about the female lead—what a letdown! Her performance was so lackluster, and her character felt like an afterthought. She had one expression the whole time, like a deer in headlights.
Here's hoping Lee Jae Wook picks a more promising project next time. We know he can do so much better!

A misunderstood anti-fantasy about success
None of the characters are the pure, impeachable morals type. Tae Oh is the brains, smart and can make things happen, but he's afraid to make any specific type of goal or happiness for himself. He waffles with the women in his life, both his own mother and Hye Won, who he constantly pushes away though he loves them on the inside. Hye Won has a terrible debt ridden gambler mother and with In Ha throwing himself at her, she sees a relationship and eventual marriage with him as a lifeline to a financially stable life though she's also smart and talented at what she does. In Ha was always the insecure bully that Tae Oh first met, lording his connection as an illegitimate child of a rich man over everyone. They find common ground in wanting to climb the ladder to success. I liked the parts where the drama showed how tenuous the friendship was, with In Ha noticing that Tae Oh withholding information from him like Hye Won being Tae Oh's neighbor from across the street. Tae Oh keeping entire shares and assets from In Ha and In Ha having his own minions that Tae Oh didn't know about. Also of course when Hye Won and Tae Oh make out after she's engaged to In Ha. They also should have shown more genuine friendship moments that would give any sense of angst with the betrayals and why they would keep talking to In Ha at the end of the series when he has done the most heinous thing including intentionally getting Tae Oh's stepfather released, directly leading to the death of Tae Oh's mom who was abused and dies from her abuser harassing her.A huge weakness of the drama is that they have only two characters that have the strategic brains that make the scheming any fun to watch and it's Tae Oh and CEO Kang Joong Mo and they both get taken out of play by jail and heart attacks and the drama goes back to the boring meetings of the other characters. Once Tae Oh is settled in jail and he begins to use his brains to control things from the outside, he doesn't finish that out because he's taken out of jail suddenly. Tae Oh is THE smart guy, but his major blind spot is that he doesn't take In Ha seriously as a psycho. In Ha is not smart, but he he will destroy and harm others. He literally had his own half brother and a random woman killed to frame Tae Oh who doesn't account for that even though he barely escaped a prison hit on his own life before CEO Kang saved him. CEO Kang is a guy who's making his own kingdom and Tae Oh helps him see his vision and eventually becomes a son like figure that In Ha wished he could be to his father and becomes the final heir. They show Tae Oh implementing a children's foundation at the end, but again his ultimate goals was never stated aside from wanting power. It's just power to have power. Neither Tae Oh or Hye Won are together, going toward their ambitions as movers and shakers of the world instead, and In Ha has offed himself in failing spectacularly in his life goals that he could have had if he had just trusted Tae Oh without being jealous and hating Tae Oh for being the person he could never be. It had always been a toxic friendship to it's core, with Tae Oh enabling In Ha fake his way to the top, with Tae Oh puppet-ing him to success. Tae Oh is the perfect successor to CEO Kang because he doesn't have anything else but to put everything into the Kangoh empire.
The sister Hee Joo feels wasted in what she can offer the drama. Her whole point was to be ridiculously obsessed with Tae Oh so that she can find and save her father from drowning in the hot tub. It would have been more interesting if she was an active player helping Tae Oh in his schemes. Same with the rest of the surviving Kang family members. The debt collecting gangsters becoming Tae Oh's cartoony buds felt too silly in tone for what's going on in the rest of the drama. Tae Oh's north korean defector, (Italian?) speaking hacker was pretty fun in just the right amount of wacky and edgy though. Him turning the situation with shooting and schooling his cohort that was bribed by In Ha was fun. The ending is pretty dark, Tae Oh is on the top of the world, but has no family, no love, and no friends. Is it cathartic, no, but it's a pretty interesting route to go for a mainstream drama that requires a bit more contemplation for appreciation, but that's not a popular thing for the mainstream audience to do alas.

I’ve just got to add my two cents
This topic has been covered to death, revived, and covered again, but I had to rant before my head explodes.Hong Suzu has zero qualifications to be the FL. There was no acting on her part. She was wooden, awkward and completely out of her depth. Directors should, but probably won’t, stop hiring actors based on looks alone.
If I were Lee Jae-Wook, I’d have a long, serious talk with my agent about garbage scripts like this even being presented. He’s a better than average actor and deserves SO much more than to be associated with this garbage.
There were some actors who could hold their own, but nothing could save this show.
One more thing that drove me nuts. The incredibly cheap painted backgrounds in each episode. I first noticed it at the place where Tae-Oh and Hye-Won were living. Once you see one painted or CGI background that is horribly presented you see them every time they pop up.
Woo, I feel so much better. Now I need to remember how to navigate this webpage to also share the shows, actors and scripts I enjoy.

DEFINITELY DO NOT RECOMMEND!
Wish I could rate this series lower to show how bad it was. I don't know who did this series the most dirty? The plot? or the female lead's painfully bad acting?.I watched this series because Lee jae wook is such an impressive actor but even him could not save this drama. Overall This drama was a 10/10 a waste of my memory.
The only thing I can say is that I left this series feeling as blank as the Female lead's (Hong su zu) facial expressions throughout the series. Don't waste your time guys, not worth it!

Guardate altro.

Not Good Enough
Korean Drama '' The Impossible Heir '' is a melodrama about the relationship between two young men.On paper, the storyline sounds fantastic, however, the first part of the drama is quite a let down. The drama actually takes a bit to settle down and find its way. With the family drama being lukewarm and the weak romance trying to take the main place in the plot, the series was quite boring for that part.
The second part, on the other hand, was quite intense and enjoyable. With the main lead taking a turn and embracing his dark side, the thriller got better and more action scenes were added.
Finally, the performances varied from good to wooden.
So, overall, five out of ten.

Where is the acting FL?
Watching the female lead is like enduring a masterclass in monotony. Her acting was so flat that it makes a wooden plank look lively in comparison. Watching paint dry would be more thrilling an experience I think? But oh wait, watching a tree grow in slow motion might actually be more exciting too. Whenever she's on screen , the energy is so stagnant that you could use that time spent to literally do anything else—like counting the individual grains of sand on a beach or timing how long it takes for an ice cube to melt. It’s a truly special kind of boredom, one where every moment drags on like a never-ending lecture on the history of paint drying.
I can go on and on.. but I'll stop here.

This was a disaster!
I don't write reviews often, but I was so shocked by this drama that I couldn't help but share it!First of all, watching the female lead was painful. I have never seen someone more stiff. A wall has more emotions than the actress. Honestly, I'm not sure I've seen her in something else or if she can act. Maybe this was just a new thing she was trying. so I have no other choice but to judge her solely by this and say that she should look into some acting classes!
Sadly, the female lead wasn't the only bad thing. The plot was even worse. This drama was seriously bipolar. First, the love triangle was randomly shoved in, and then the two male leads turned on each other which was just stupid. When I started watching I thought that this was supposed to be Kang In Ha and Han Tae Ho against In Ha's father. I thought they were supposed to say as friends and work together because that's what we were shown at the beginning but it all went crazy in the middle. Kang In Ha killed his brother and blamed it on Han Tae Ho and then Tae Ho went to jail and got broken out by Kang In Ha's father... etc. And not to mention that all of this was crowned by people dying and coming back to life randomly.
The only good part or thing in this show was Kang Hee Joo. I know that she is a flawed character but her scenes were the only ones I didn't want to skip through. the actress is very talented. despite her playing more of a negative character I still managed to enjoy some of her scenes. maybe because she is that good or perhaps the other characters were so badly written that she just shined through.
I have watched a lot of dramas. I might not be a professional screenwriter but I at least know how to differentiate between a good and a bad drama. this took me THREE MONTHS to finish and that already says a lot. I have pulled all-nighters for a good drama or a TV Show. I've gone on with 2 hours of sleep merely to finish a good show but this took me three months. I had the chance to finish it in a week or 2 weeks tops but it was just too painful to turn it on. but over time it got more painful to see it every time I looked through my "watching list". That is the only reason I decided to finish this drama. I simply couldn't bear being reminded of it.

To fix this drama just need to remove the FL lead character and focus on the 2 main Male leads. Her character should be a side character that we don't care about. The writers are not bold enough to let them live with their earlier choices. To me the lesser we see her the better cause she doesn't contribute much to the main plot. Cet avis était-il utile?
Worst storyline
After first episode i thought ok this not like regular drama it has something i should continueAfter 4th episode i got disappointed why the Female lead interfere in the friendship why was she even there 😠
After 6th episode im not disappointed anymore i got so much anger on the screen writter and director do they have any sense they must have watched more drama then me even though they developed a worst storyline
I know they are going to justify this in the upcoming episodes but i won't compromise whatever changes they made i think this the last episode i watched on the series im going to drop it
Come up with different drama with better writing and direction after this shitty one I'll wait for it

Mistake of production which they lost 20 billion KW
In my opinion FL character was unnecessary i am not object on her acting or any thing HSZ is good model but acting she should practice for this if she interest in it i hope in future she will do her bestWriter should be sue for his work he thought he is a professional no he is not... he is worst writer. The story good when 2 ML character together plan for future, but when he includes FML character the story became worst. In my opinion writer should quite his job and do what is best for him. This story have so many hole plot like a time jump than taeoh realised he love Hywon and she married his friend. Then taeoh smart person but never knew about his friend motive. Its shocked me taeoh reaction so unnecessary and inha turn to evil. All the things make everyone confused.
Director fault is very big mistake he never guid FL its his fault he never properly guid her. He knew she is not professional but she struggled he never helped her. He cast a good supportive actors like Choi hee jin as Kang hee ju and lee ji hoon as kang seong ju they both are brilliant actors but they have little time screen all focus on main three lead and confusing story so please Disney plus work dont waste like this project hire some professional people who save your money

Huge disappointment!
The drama began really well but as the episodes progressed it became boring. The storyline was really dragged and some scenes just didn't make sense. The most disappointing thing was the female lead, she had the same facial expression in all scenes. The casting was superb but the storyline just sucked towards the end.Cet avis était-il utile?
