Greenlight the Second Season ASAP
Blood Free is a refreshing & exhilarating addition to the world of Korean Dramas.. Offering a captivating blend of innovative storytelling and strong performances.. The pacing of the drama was not well executed.. Deserved more episodes to have a logical conclusion.. I genuinely hope this gets a season 2 because it deserves it.. Even though this is not a romance drama, the main leads chemistry was just unbelievable..Cet avis était-il utile?

Crisp and tasty KDrama - revolving around some hot topics that one might rather want to call sci-fi
Intelligent, sharp, with strong characters. A crisp and tasty KDrama. “Blood Free” got me immediately - with an original hook, set within a gripping milieu, topped by thoughtful demeanor of interestingly authentic protagonists and splendid casting.Of course, the interfering natural interest of those in power (who obviously can never keep their hands off) is not at all surprising. Yet, the processing of some rather hot contemporary issues was presented in a refreshingly concise manner. Including topics that one might call a dream of the future... A bit far-fetched here and there? Perhaps. Nevertheless, often enough well grounded in common sense.
I assume there could as well be a second season... because the end doesn´t necessarily have to be the end, does it?

Disney+ Strikes Again: [Blood Free ] Offers a Fresh and Unique Cinematic Experience
Writer - Lee Soo Yeon ( Stranger series )Production House - Disney+ ( Dominating Netflix from last year )
Actors - Ju Ji Hoon, Han Hyo Joo, Lee Hee Jun ( Versatile actors )
And the plot all these elements caught my attention to watch Blood Free.
"Blood Free" marks a compelling departure from conventional K-drama narratives, introducing audiences to a captivating new genre known as "The Blood-Free Drama." This innovative approach, spearheaded by acclaimed writer Lee Soo Yeon and produced by Disney+, offers viewers a refreshing alternative to the typical bloodshed and violence often associated with the genre. Instead, the focus is on nuanced storytelling and character-driven narratives, setting a new standard for K-drama excellence.
If you think the drama is boring after watching few episodes don't make to drop it because The story will take new side from Cultured Meat to organs transplantation that where our main lead got some small super power with unexpected events. From this is where drama went to it's peak to track the mastermind behind blast and the rival new strategic attacks starts on Blood Free. We guess who is the Mastermind who is the main villian and who are the betrayals and who are the loyalty but somewhere our predictions goes to worng a little. Keep us in suspense who are they. With the Sci-fi plot the makers never neglected the mark of the storytelling with combination scenes of Woo Chae Won & Yoon Jae Yo to make a perfect picture of the story and their character motivations, and their chemistry, to keep us root for their pair give more. And another that -- Lee Soo Yeon mark in Emotional development of her works are exceptional, because majority of story contains with the suspense and thriller or Investigation elements, so with the limited space for emotional development it's really hard to handling the balance between limited emotional development and those elements (I saw them in other dramas, not comparing but saying how the writer perfectly placed all of them equally in her works.) But we can really make tears by some characters irrespective of main characters or supporting characters in her dramas, she showed her mark again - making good emotional development with bounded characters depth ( not to spoil here, you can experience it when you watch the drama ). Some Episodes feels bit bore but i think it's common in sci-fi thriller because this drama dealing with 10 eps sometimes it will miss some actual pace. But for me it was good paced and well structured story with serious paced story narration.
Yes, The drama's serious and well-paced narrative will keep you on the edge of your seat, expertly crafting a thrilling experience that's more focused on intellectual suspense than action-packed sequences. While the action scenes may be limited, the few that exist are impactful and satisfying. However, it's the unexpected moments of humor and heartwarming camaraderie between Woo Chae Woon and Kim Ho Seung that truly shine. Their brief but poignant bromance is a masterful stroke of storytelling, leaving you with a lump in your throat and a deeper emotional investment in the characters' journeys.
QUALITY DRAMA ELEMENTS :-
1. Intricate Plot: Led by writer Lee Soo Yeon, "Blood Free" boasts an intricately woven plot that keeps viewers engrossed from start to finish. The story follows Yun Ja-yu as she navigates the complexities of saving her company while delving into political intrigue and personal backstories, eliciting intrigue and speculation about the underlying mysteries.
2. Futuristic Setting: The show's exploration of the conflict between humanity and technology offers a compelling glimpse into a future world from the present. Through advanced technology disrupting the food chain, "Blood Free" presents thought-provoking themes that resonate with contemporary environmental and ethical concerns.
3. Exceptional Cast: With Ju Ji Hoon, Han Hyo Joo, and Lee Hee Jun leading the ensemble, "Blood Free" benefits from the talents of versatile actors who breathe life into their characters and infuse the narrative with depth and authenticity.
4. Cinematic Excellence: The cinematography in "Blood Free" is visually stunning, complementing the intricacies of the plot and enhancing the overall viewing experience. Each scene is meticulously crafted to capture the essence of the story and evoke emotion in the audience.
5. Han Hyo Joo & Ju Ji Hoon On-screen chemistry :- Their on-screen chemistry is truly amazing! While we're still in the unknown about a potential romance plot, and there aren't any hints suggesting one, their dynamic chemistry is enough to make the drama more enjoyable and entertaining, even amidst the intense survival storyline. Their chemistry is a compelling aspect of the show, and we're loving it!"
Plot seems potential but -
• Demanding Attention: Given the complexity of its plot and thematic depth, "Blood Free" requires viewers' full attention to grasp its intricacies and appreciate its nuances. Casual viewers may find it challenging to keep up with the narrative without dedicating sufficient focus.
• Initial Impressions: As with any new series, it's essential to give "Blood Free" a fair chance beyond the first few episodes. While the opening scene sets the stage for the main storyline, the true depth and complexity of the drama unfold gradually, rewarding viewers who invest time in exploring its themes and character dynamics.
CINEMATOGRAPHY !!
The Cinematography and the graphic CGI is brilliant, i don't know how to express this experience but i really felt the same vibes with
Hollywood movie " Blade Runner 2047 " like - drak tone cinematography in first episode ( it's clearly what I felt, so this may be different to every watcher ).
And Any chances for rom :-
Perhaps there's a strong chemistry without any romance. After watching four episodes, it seems like the upcoming episode will primarily focus on the female lead's survival and the pursuit of catching the mastermind behind the bomb blast. If they introduce a romantic plot between characters with strong chemistry, it might overshadow the main plot. Given that the writer is from the "Stranger" series, it wouldn't be surprising if she follows a similar formula, focusing more on chemistry rather than romance. However, I hope she incorporates a bit of romance this time. The scenes between them just make me want to see a new romantic drama again. ?
Finally
"Blood Free" emerges as a groundbreaking addition to the world of K-dramas, offering a compelling blend of suspense, drama, and science fiction. Through its innovative approach and thought-provoking themes, the series challenges traditional conventions and invites viewers on a captivating journey of exploration and discovery. With its stellar cast, intricate plot, and cinematic brilliance, "Blood Free" will stands as a testament to the limitless creativity of K-drama makers and promises an unforgettable viewing experience for audiences seeking something truly extraordinary. Don't miss the opportunity to immerse yourself in the rich tapestry of "Blood Free" and embark on a quest that will leave you enthralled and enlightened.

It's heavy on the politics, but the smart leads kept me excited.
Blood Free (BF) is a biotech company that has dominated the lab-grown meat market. Despite its' success, this movement is considered controversial and has put the CEO Yoon Ja Yoo (Han Hyo Joo) at risk to some opposing threats. Woo Chae Woon (Ju Ji Hoon) is recruited as her bodyguard, but with a mission to bring her down. The sci-fi aspect and the politics were complicated and not that exciting to me, and I wasn't fully drawn by the first impression of the leads. Later, their dynamic becomes much more interesting. Both Ja Yoo and Chae Woon have mutual goodwill but haunted by their past, that keep each other distant. They both are smart and excel in their solitude. Ja Yoo is awesome! Even as she is caught off guard and injured, she is unshaken. Her thoughts and decisions kept me rooting for her win. I don't quite understand Chae Woon since he's hard to read, but his action was daring he kept me engaged.
Pacing-wise, this is fast, we don’t catch a break until the last episode, where I felt is losing momentum, and it ends a bit creepy. But I have to say it’s a great experience overall. The consistent elevated stake was suspenseful, thrilling, and the twists were unpredictable.
Thanks for reading!

Unique and realistic sci fi
The thing about blood free is that the story pulls you in once you get accustomed to the futuristic world. The show does a good job of making it realistic like you can easily follow along though they are taking about hifi tech and we can envision this could be possible.
The cast are really good, leads have great chemistry the supporting characters are cool too...i don't mean the villians
We need to see the villians go down in season 2 ASAP

So awesome
I love this drama, the acting is amazing and the story is reallly unique. I haven’t seen another kdrama like this ever. It is so well made and I am on the edge of my seat the entire time. The leads are doing a great job of playing off one another and the motives behind the character’s actions are more shown rather than told to the audience. I am really glad the writers really trust the audience to follow along with the story in this way. Most of the sci-fi kdramas I have seen in the past I have disliked because something about them feel false and it pulls me out of the story, but in this drama I have been fully immersed the entire time. The technology feels realistic and fantastical at the same time. That is not an easy thing to do.Cet avis était-il utile?
Best sci fi and business politics genre adaption ever
Must watch if you want a unique plot that explores one of the rarest k-drama genre ever. No character is written dumb, FL isn't a damsel in distress but is actually very clever and soft spoken. ML is a soldier through and through. Both of their chemistry is off charts. The science stuff and business and politics everything done was very realistically done. What I love the most is how the main characters are written and how they acted their roles, it was very calm and serious, makes you actually feel like they actually exist in real life too. Especially FL actually acted exactly like a CEO of a big biotechnology company. She is introverted, doesn't talk a lot unless it is necessary, keeps her cool, thinks logically all the time.
ML is like mirror of FL, he is determined, loyal, thinks critically like a high post soldier. Is also introverted just like FL.
The series has ended, but it is very clear there will be a season base don the ending, as there is still lot of important things to be revealed. I am actually very happy there will be a season 2, as this series definitely shouldn't be just 10 episodes and I am glad it is happening. Although I hope it won't take long for season 2 to come out with all the actors still in picture from season 1.

This ONE should have a better rating than this
I love Han Hyo Joo, been following all her works from her early years.. She is AMAZING!!!! She always give her best in every performance she's in, either actions, dramas, or even thrillers, trust me!! She is a GOOD actress!Been waiting Kingdom S3 too all this time, but this is a refreshing performance too from Jo Ji Hoon. He is SO handsome and cool too anyway for a role of a soldier and bodyguard. Dunno about yall, but personally I love the mature and manly characteristic in his face (even when he was still in his 20s). Maybe cute guys characteristic for Korean market is always in demand, I never say I don't understand that, but there's always the "UGH" and "AWW" when you watch manly actors in actions. hahahahahahhaha
That, and their chemistry in here, I can say that It's a Match. I enjoy this drama so much, waiting for the next episodes is like a torture T_T
The theme itself is very progressive, the next level of human civilization. I believe that would not entirely be a fiction, (or maybe I watch conspiracy theories videos too much?haha) well, you can still think this as a fiction and enjoy the story very much.
About the story, well, what can I say, I am an addict of thriller mysteries, but also the side of the sci-fi here is so on point, in-time, and have been the talks for too long but still interesting. It's a serious serial indeed, need to focus my head 100%, but believe it or not, It's worth it. Absolutely NOT disappointing!
*****And anyway, HHJ is already in her 37, but can I complaint? She is waaaayyyyyy too gorgeous. OMG!!! (>.<)*****
Watch it till the last, and proof me wrong!
Hav fun watching!!!
UPDATE:
Newsflash!! Watched all the last 2 episodes, and again I still agree on this kdrama to be underappreciated. The actions and the CGI are amazing, but mostly I will appreciate the story line and the theme here. Cultured meat, or we can say artificial meat are being developed these time being, and this unique condition where people are succeed in this area of expertise globally will caused another jump of a technology development and, unfortunately also problem within. The specific conflict in Blood Free's plot might not be the real problem in the world, but maybe a close one. Immortality? sureeeee... people will get greedy for this. But anywayyyyy, this kdrama have my praise, I am waiting for the next and the next and the nexttttt. I can't stop myself from wanting more from Blood Free and always curious what's gonna be the next surprise there. That is why I can't seem to understand what's with the ratting in MDL. Sorry but I have to disagree, this drama should at least a 8.8! T_T
New Update ep10!!
Just don't agree on how the s1 ended, I think that is just too brutal, chaos, and irrelevant. I don't mind if there are s2, s3, even with s10, but the cliffhanger is just too ridiculous. A very disappointing ep10. Ep1-9 is unbelievably addicting, but the last ep makes me cry so bad. I honestly feel bad to reduce the rating T.T

Gripping storyline with flawless character settings
Fast-paced, logical, rational, concise and gripping storyline with flawless character settings. There is nothing in this drama that seems too much or less just as perfect as a drama can get. Amid the build-up of a thrilling plot line, there is a sprinkle of a subtle romance (which I wish to believe is there) between an indifferent, cold-hearted, and ambitious female CEO and her bodyguard which can drive anyone crazy expecting more.Treading along a fine balance between the protagonist and the villain this drama gives a vast space for speculations about the ethics behind the topic of genetic engineering and the danger behind it.
Han Hyo Joo, playing the role of the above-mentioned indifferent, cold-hearted, and ambitious female CEO, did a spectacular job as always with the rest of the cast who brought this drama to perfection.
The ending was a cliffhanger but the most rational and acceptable that one could not find a fault whatsoever. Considering the characters and the story development, the ending was acceptable and gave leeway for speculation. The ending was not forced, unlike most dramas that try to fit into the viewer's expectations.

Ending
What happened to the ending! I would be really surprised if this show gets a season 2. The show had so much potential with top actors and subject matter. Premise and technology were good. The story slowly fell apart as the series progressed. Unfortunately, it fell short with the script, editing, and directing.Cet avis était-il utile?

Thought-Provoking Drama
Wow! This drama was truly something special! It felt real and unique, with all that action and tension between the characters. The concept of organ culturing for eternal life seemed incredible initially, but as the story unfolded, it became chilling. Yet, amidst all the horror, the writer managed to weave a thoughtful moral message. Awesome!Cet avis était-il utile?
Class is in session. This is Drama Dumpster Fire 101.
Director: "Good morning everyone! Welcome to our first readthrough of 'Blood Free'! We're so excited to have you here. I mean the talent we've recruited to be part of this cast is simply amazing!!! Shall we proceed?"Han Hyo Joo: "Before we start, can I ask a bit about how you'd like me to portray my character, Yoon Ja Yoo?"
D: "Robot."
HHJ: "I'm sorry, robot?"
D: "Yes, robot."
HHJ: "Can I add some vulnerability at any point? A bit of emotion? A smile?"
D: "Nope."
HHJ: "A wink?"
D: "No."
HHJ: "Anything? Anything at all?"
D: "Have I not been clear here? Hello? Robot, robot, robot."
HHJ: "You know, I've won awards and stuff. I have talent. I can keep it lowkey and just let out the human stuff at the right time and at like barely discernible levels. I'm really really that good. You're paying me a lot too so I just think maybe you might want me to, y'know, show off a little bit of the goods."
D: "God no. Robot. 100% robot."
Ju Ji Hoon: "Mr. Director, uh, I've seen her work. Han Hyo Joo is amazing! I think maybe you should let her maybe explore the human side of her character a bit."
D: "Thanks for the input, but she's a robot and let's just get your character out of the way too. Robot. Occasionally a fighting robot but a robot. No smiles. No emotion. Oh but the fighting robot has a cat and the cat is NOT a robot so we're cool, right?"
HHJ: "Sir, you're in charge so we'll do what you say but I'm just curious, wouldn't the drama be more interesting if the two main characters who are going to be on screen together for so much of the show be more entertaining if they, I'm just spitballing here, weren't robots?"
D: "Ahhhhh! I think we've found where we're not on the same page here! So just FYI, the further along we go, the less you're going to be on screen together and when things get really exciting at the very end, your character isn't really a part of all that stuff. There's gonna be other people whose characters are just annoying windbags that take over at that point. It's gonna be awesome!"
JJH: "Sorry, we're the main characters, right? Shouldn't we be in the middle of things when the important stuff happens?"
D: "Crazy talk! You're robots! You've been robots through the whole show! Episode one, robot. Episode two, robot. Etc. Etc. and then we'll just go through almost entire episodes without you two appearing hardly at all. But it's fine because nobody cares about your boring robot characters!"
Even a robot wouldn't recommend this show.
