I really liked this one. I kept hearing how wooden Song Seung Heon was as an actor and it biased me unfairly. I loved him in this. Kim Tae Hee was wonderfully light and funny. Even though there were some slight boring moments for me here and there and the plot could have been written better, overall this was fun to watch. A great rainy day drama. Lots of funny moments thrown in with the drama and tears. Mr. P kinda rocks.

I wasn't going to write a review on this, neither was I going to complete this drama. It took me forever to complete it because it was a snooze fest for most parts. But this is the absolutely only drama that I gave second, third and so on chances to because of the two main lead actors.

As for the story, it is a plain one about a girl who finds out she is a princess. There wasn't much original in the plot and all the Imperial family politics bored me. I was lazy to complete this drama because I wasn't invested in the second leads either. By the way, I generally don't like judging actors by their looks but Park Ye Jin looked absolutely hideous in her hairstyle and annoyed the hell out of me.

After watching this, Kim Tae Hee is hands down the most easily likable actress in the Korean industry for me. I don't remember the last time I was so impressed with an actress playing an ordinary character in midst of a boring story. Also, Song Seung Hoon was equally good as Park Hae Young and complimented Tae Hee's character well. Plus, their awesome chemistry made me want more. Their scenes are all fluffy and cute. At least these two people didn't bore me.

Because this drama is a victim of poor writing, Lee Seol's character was also nothing special. But Tae Hee's amazing acting skills made her entertaining. Generally, I have a record of hating female characters which cry a lot or behave immaturely. But Tae Hee makes even this funny and enjoyable to watch. The drama had nothing but to rely on Tae Hee and Seung Hoon's talent to make it to the end.

Overall, it is an easily forgettable drama. But because it is light and has great lead actors I could tell you try it once. Recommended for fans of Kim Tae Hee and Seung Hoon!

Mmmm... yup this is one of the best dramas I've seen, it certainly helps that it suits me down to the ground. The acting, brilliant, the story is wonderful, it made me laugh and it wasn't over the top. I just wanted more! The only thing I would say was that the ending seemed really rushed, I'm not sure why Korean dramas have this 'trend' for these ruined or rushed endings but it's annoying me now!

I can be as passionate in love with a drama as I am in hate with another.

My Princess falls in the second category.

It has all the premises for a light romantic, easy and funny watch but it fulfills none to the fullest.

The plot is a silly one, but I can forgive it since it never advertised as anything else than the usual "normal" girl becoming royal overnight and facing the changes.

When a plot has nothing big to offer, I expect at least great acting and, most of all, something original or beautiful in terms of direction/screenplay/music/visuals.

The direction of this drama is, at best, average, at worst atrocious.

The acting is nothing great either. The female lead does her best, but the rest of the cast is better displayed in a wax museum.

The music is the biggest put off. It does nothing to enhance the feelings portayed; on the contrary, it kills them. It seems like whoever had to chose the soundtrack did a hasty job, putting this or that song at random on random scenes.

Although I usually force myself to watch a drama to the end, I dropped this one, since I found that fast-forwarding 80% of an episode is a waste of time and finger-mobility.

I love this drama! Absolutely in my Re-watch list.
The story plot might be simple : a girl who happened to be a princess and bla bla bla but when I watched this drama I do really enjoy how the story went all the way to an ending.
Making a really good (not boring) drama with a common story plot is difficult, but I think the team of My Princess nailed it!

As for the cast,
I love the chemistry between Song Seung Hoen and Kim Tae Hee. I can actually see them as couple when I watched this drama.

However, I kinda disappointed with the music. The soundtrack of this drama doesn't really catchy as other Kdrama soundtrack. But, overall I still love it!

This was pretty good. I enjoyed it, except for maybe the last three episodes (aside from the very end). They were kind of dragging along.

This entire drama made me very reminiscent to Lie To Me, with similar characters and relationships. There's even an Oh Yoon Joo in that one. The characters and story made me think of a few other dramas, in general. The plot and relationships made me think of Lie To Me; Oh Yoon Joo reminded me of Hye In from My Girlfriend is a Gumiho; and Jung Woo made me think of the director from Heartstrings.

The story for this one was nothing too original, but it was interesting and I liked it. There were weaknesses, of course, and I think a major one is the question of why Lee Seol and Hae Young even end up falling in love. There doesn't seem to be any progression until all of the sudden they love each other, which is especially noticeable from Hae Young's side of the relationship.

Also, that last few episodes were kind of, I don't know, slow. The ending was sweet though, and it was satisfying.

The actors did a pretty good job, I'd say. The two leads were good, and I loved their characters. Most of the characters were likeable, except Oh Yoon Joo, and I still can't really see why Jung Woo ever ends up liking her after all that went down, but, um, okay.

Music wasn't very prominent--it was unfitting at times but otherwise was pretty unnoticeable.

I personally wouldn't rewatch it, except maybe the tense scenes or the cute ones.

Overall it was good. Typical, but it held my attention. Some nitpicks I'll just add here: I was hoping maybe Lee Seol would be more assertive throughout a lot of the time when she was whining over things. Also I found her expressions similar to Kristen Stewart at points. Another thing was the kisses, as they would always have jumpy camera shots.

Either way, if you're bored, this is a good drama to watch.

1-The reason I watched this : At that time I was going through a slump so I randomly picked this one after reading the synopsis and end up watching it somehow.

2-Storyline/Plot : At first, the story started perfectly, I was feeling every second and having great expectations for what will happen next. However, when Lee Seol became a princess things started to fall apart and it felt like the storyline took the wrong turn; it wasn't completely ruined but I loved the beginning more.
There were too many slow moments especially when the triangle took place.

3-Acting/Cast : I always liked Kim Tae Hee as an actress but as a character she wasn't that great. There's Song Seung Hun who's the only reason I finished this drama not because he's a great actor but because he's *insert shallow feelings* but seriously the lead actors had awesome chemistry.
I never liked Park Ye Jin as an actress plus her character here didn't help because the triangle was one of the most weak points of this drama.
There were some interesting characters here and there but overall the acting department wasn't very satisfying.

4-Music : I still remember it until now; it was cool, not too typical not too extravagant.

5-Rewatch value : Maybe there are some people who would like to see this again but in my point of view only the steamy chemistry moments need to be rewatched.

6-The ending : The ending wasn't that special but it's forgettable simply because I loved the last scene (shallow thoughts).

7-Overall : It's not a great drama no matter how much I think about it. The only reason I enjoyed watching this was because of my shallow feelings for Song Seung Hun and the steamy chemistry. Other than that, this is not a must-watch romantic comedy.

I think of My Princess as a typical, cute, romantic comedy. It was perfect to watch while sick at home. Song Seung Hun, & Kim Tae Hee, are really good together, and make a really good looking couple. I loved their chemistry from episode one, and became quickly addicted to their flirtatious teasing of each other. Lee Seol was charming, without overdoing it. As for Park Hae Young/Mr. P, the P could stand for perfect, as in... 'dream man', as in... 'more shower scenes next time, please!!!'

The rest of the cast was pretty good, but not particularly impressive, except for Park Ye Jin. I loathed Oh Yoon Joo, so I have to credit the actress for bringing out so much hate in me. Clearly a sociopath, Oh Yoon Joo definitely was a perfect villain. The other characters weren't really written with much depth in my opinion. I guess this isn't exactly a drama you should expect much depth from anyway.

I think this drama's weakest area is in the writing. I didn't mind the recycled poor-girl-turned-princess story, and I liked that there was, initially, a legitimate dilemma keeping the two main stars apart. My biggest problem was that eventually the story started to go nowhere for too long. The first episodes set the bar high for cute, funny, rewatchable, and romantic moments. The last episodes felt like complete time wasters, and even the cute romantic moments lost some of their spark. The overall ending was fine, but it felt to me like too little too late. I wish that they'd just quit while they were ahead, then my numbers would have been much higher.

I would still recommend My Princess, but if the chemistry in the first few episodes doesn't appeal to you, I would suggest moving on to something else.

I both really enjoyed this show and was really frustrated with this show. It took me a really long time to complete this drama. Halfway through I just couldn't find that spark to want to watch the next episode. I kept finding myself watching Running Man instead, always telling myself that I just needed a break or I just wanted to laugh today. But, I finally did get back to finishing this one. It was a little painful there at the end. I don't think this one will be in the re-watch list.

I'll start with a few things that I really did enjoy. I felt that the chemistry between the two leads was very real. The expressions they exchanged, their playful banter, and the way they touched one another all made me believe that they were falling in love. I had a good time watching them fall in love, it was adorable and cute and well written. I also truly appreciated the chemistry of the palace cook, Geon Lee, and the maid, Shin Mi So. They were totally adorable with Lee Seol and with one another. They were fun to watch throughout the entire show.

Lee Seol's adoptive mom, Kim Da Bok, was excellent. Though I do really like the actress, Im Ye Jin. The way she reacted to all the ups and downs of what was happening to Lee Seol and what Lee Seoul was causing to happen was amazing. It really felt like a loving mother-daughter relationship. Some of my favorite scenes are with Lee Soel and Kim Da Bok. They were just great together.

Some things that confused me with the family in general was Lee Dan. I realize that the writers were attempting to show that Lee Dan and Lee Seol did not have a good relationship in the beginning of the show, but it just felt forced. Towards the end as Lee Dan tries to provide a reason for her actions to their mom Kim Da Bok it just didn't feel real to me. It didn't flow with the story, I couldn't really believe that Lee Dan was that angry and that hateful. Also, they could not talk enough about Lee Seol's real father. However, I'm pretty sure that they never once mention her mother, at all. Did the Emperor's wife die in childbirth? If not then where was she? It was obvious that Lee Seol and her biological father were alone together in all the flashbacks. I suppose I wanted something more definitive in regards to her mother.

The political intrigue with the President, Senator, and Yoon Joo at times felt like it was just too much. I understand that they were heavily opposed to reinstating the royal family, however, for this show it felt like to much. A lot of the scenes played like a romantic comedy, and then something with the political intrigue would occur and it would feel like a melodrama. It was just too heavy for me and too much for the way the show had been written in the first few episodes. I did like story of the last Emperor, his hidden son and granddaughter. I also liked the twist in how Park Dong Jae earned his wealth and built his empire, all of that was very well written and done.

I want to take a moment to talk about the clothing, costumes, and outfits of this show. On one hand you look at the men and they are all amazingly dressed. The suits were sharp, well tailored, and of high quality material. Each character had their own look and it fit him well. Their hair and accessories were excellent too. Then... oh man you look at the ladies. I mean come on, what was with Yoon Joo's hair? And even worse than that, her clothing especially hurt my eyes. Lee Seol was also a victim of terrible outfits. I have no idea what the designers were thinking, but the ladies looked terrible.

My last point is Hae Young. For the first part of the show it felt like he had a separate set of writers than the last half. In the first eleven episodes he was somewhat broody and moody and a little angry. Though he was working through these issues and trying to accept his feelings for Lee Seol. Then all of a sudden he was overly sweet and cute. The actor was the same, but it was a completely different part he was playing Hae Young became like a fifteen year old young man courting his high school crush. That made it very hard for me to enjoy the end of the show. It was such a sudden shift in the lead character.

It wasn't a bad way to spend sixteen hours, but it wasn't one of my favorites. I did enjoy the story and I liked a lot of the elements, but there were more things missing for them in the end.

This drama took over my life for a while. Kim Tae Hee is an absolute blast in this drama and the main pairing (which isn't too evident in the beginning) is absolutely adorable. Kim Tae Hee's character is one you're always rooting for and although this drama does lack a "captivating" story line, it's a lovable story line that always leaves you wanting more. The thing I love about this drama and the person who wrote it is he doesn't focus on those stereo typical tragic story lines but instead shows us a character who is finding herself, becoming stronger & moving toward her goal. It's very funny and pretty 'turned up' on the romance, but a fun watch nonetheless.

I am pretty much in love with this drama. If you like fairy tales with a modern edge, you will like this drama. It's not meant to be serious or acting that isn't exaggerated, after all, it is a fairy tale. But, it's also not meant to be taken lightly. I think this show realistically portrays how a young woman might feel like finding out she's actually a princess.

The "bad guys" are the worst! they are so well acted and fit in the fairy tale theme so well. Also, the dudes are pretty hot too.

The music wasn't that memorable, and the story at times can be fragmented, but I think all that works out in the end.

Sometimes I miss not watching this show, and will watch an episode that I liked most!

Apart from that jealous museum director chick, this was a cutesy fairy tale feeling. Seung ho is handsome and kim tae hee is beautiful as always. The two were cute together and the kissing scenes were awsome and lengthy than in regular dramas. The story and acting was good I just wish there were no long paused moments.
