TOKYO MER (2021)

Both have two male leads doctors
Both are medical dramas about saving people fighting corruption
and both have good male friendships

Nakajo Ayami also stars in this medical series. Her role is a doctor. It is more focused in medical aspect and there is only a bit to no romance.

Night Doctor is similar to Tokyo MER in that it too is a specially formed emergency care unit. They also go to emergency and accident sites, something the day duty doctors could never do. The program's advantage is that it eliminates the shift system, making it possible to provide appropriate care 24 hours a day. Additionally, their policy is no case is ever rejected -- they too have a leader with a similar conviction as Toyko MER's who believes that every life is worth saving regardless of the complexity of the medical case.

A team of doctors & nurse despatch to the accident scene to give medical support. DMAT can operate on the scene if needed but of course with limited tools. This is why they need to analyse the situation carefully in order to save as many life as possible.

tokyo mer focuses more on doctors and nurses operating in a vehicle, where they do surgeries inside.

the first responders focuses more on the paramedics or the firefighter team.

currently both are interesting and unrealistic as for first responder's first episode. if you like this, you can watch tokyo mer which is available in disney plus too! it has 11 eps with a movie coming in 2023! (counted as their season 2 lol!)

to sum up, both of them are about saving people in different point of view (tokyo mers - doctors, first responders - firefighter)

If you love one, you'll love the other! Both are introducing new ways of rescuing people directly at the scene of incidents (the MER vs. the Doctor Heli), give us beautifully cheesy rescue scenes, and focus on the friendship within the teams instead of on romance.
