A dizzying world of hard-at-work grim reapers and an extraordinary offer await Choi Jun Woong after a freak accident lands his body in a coma. (Source: Netflix)
Interesting storyline. The plot is totally different from the shows I have seen till today. The story starts with Joon's interview, which got rejected due to internal politics. While going home, he meets Ryun and Ryung (Live saving soul reaper and accidentally falls into a coma. Jade Emperor (Boss) is a funny character, and I am curious why she brought Ryun from hell and what promise she made to her. Park seems very cold. I felt terrible for Joon's mom and Eun Bi. The epilogue was funny.
Overall I liked the first ep. Espc the end was interesting hiw they are in danger in the memories of this woman. But the epilogue made me raise a brow. Was the piunt of epilogue to shiw that the grim reaper is justice loving and strong woman? But a good person does not beat up a scammer that sells you a fake gucci hoodie. Actually its her fault to be so naive and not even ask for proof or other fotos of the hoodie. -_- so the epilogue put her in a bad light for me.
Finalmente comecei!
I went and read up the original webtoon in preparation for this drama, just so I can get familiar with the setting. I have to say that this drama start up really good. So far I like the parts that they retained from the webtoon and parts they changed for the drama. They kinda reduced a lot of scenes where Ryunggu constantly pick his nose and added an extra quirk to him. I guess cos it can't be too good to have the actor constantly doing that onscreen. I like how we got to see more of Joonggil compared to how he was introduced in the webtoon and I noticed how the drama simplified some of the character background details and also changed some, especially regarding Junwoong's family. So far the episodes were looking good; they aged up Eunbi while also retaining her original story. I guess, that's in relation to some of the recent bullying scandals. So far so good, I like how they added the bit about the key of memory which wasn't in the original. Since I already knew about the Director/CEO and how she looked like in drama, I'm not really surprised about the older looking Jade Empress. I also like how the drama kept Guryeon's pink hair and eyeshadow look alongside Joonggil's suave persona. But it's kinda a pity that drama appear to not have the COO aka Yeomra in the story. Cos I really like him. Yeomra's a pretty funny guy in the webtoon. XD
Honestly, this might come off a little biased because I looked forward to this SO MUCH because of Yoon Jion (LIKE????? YALL SEEING HIM WITH THAT MULLET AND BLONDE STREAKS??????? SEXY AS HECK FR) And I'm really gonna start off talking about him just to get it out of the way. Other than the fact that he looks SO GOOD, he comes off as a little surprise to me. I watched the highlights, teaser and all and you know, seems like the cute quiet type that secretly cares, AND HE IS. BUT i didn't expect him to be funny, which really adds brownie points in my book. And I saw the relationship chart and saw that he and Rowoon's character will have bromance, and that's honestly to be expected from squads like this, BUT NOW I REALLY BELIEVE IT THEIR LITTLE INTERACTIONS ARE FUNNY AND ADORABLE. But very honestly, the three of them since the beginning are really funny and cute.Well, with that out of the way, I also have a feeling that I will become emotionally attached to them. Well, comedy isnt in the list of their main genre. Which really shows what kind of drama it is. The one that gives me lots of laughs in the beginning and as we go on through their journey will become attached and they'll spice things up as we go, and boom, dropping the whole bottle of chili powder in the bowl aka fuckin ANGST. Which is what happened with me and another show that finished around two months ago. Didnt think I'd ever relive that moment again, but I guess I will. Also I got super excited when I saw in their release schedule that N.Flying's Seunghyub will have an ost for this (which played in the epilogue of ep 1) and idk why I actually expected it to go super hard (and it didnt) BUT ITS STILL SO GOOD OKAY MAYBE MY EXPECTATIONS WERE TOO HIGH FOR THAT
