Time management is key!

“If you’re drunk from alcohol, it will disappear soon. If you’re drunk with love, it’s never ending.”

As confirmed by Time’s pals, the poet Soontornphu might’ve never said that. But Time’s friend Oak has a point. I must mention that I really appreciated Oak’s comic relief, along with Time’s support from his group of pals: one was a cop (always willing to investigate with Time), one was a doctor (who was always there at the office prepared to treat Time’s loved ones), and one was a scriptwriter for dramas (who always offered emotional insight).

Moving on, I enjoyed this drama. It will always hold a special place in my heart. All the characters are memorable, and no actor nor actress lacked in talent and did as the role demanded.

But most of all, I liked Time. He was a true protagonist who definitely won me over. He always had his brother’s back, and always questioned those who questioned his brother. He never wavered in his loyalty, and was always quick to react with a closed fist and honest words. Tre really gives a solid performance here. I liked his facial expressions. He knows how to act with his eyes. Fern (as Treenut) and Toy (as Touch) play their parts superbly as well. Fern was an awesome female character who was a great cook and artist. Carried herself confidently but good natured and subtle. I liked her fashion style as well. Toy was able to exude the friendly nature that Touch’s character was. I like the first scene in the drama because it gives the audience a good idea of the both brothers’ personalities and good traits.

The brothers’ mother, Yada, was a great character as well. On the surface one may be quick to judge her. But I rooted for her as well. I understood her determination and desperation. Her eldest son’s sexuality wasn’t something she necessarily abhorred, nor was it something she judged him for alone. She just didn’t want her rival sister in law’s son to destroy the company her husband and father in law worked so hard to establish (and died doing so). But so determined to see her sons be their best selves, she failed to see their sadness. But she still comes out winning and supportive.

The two villains, both Chun and Risa were, ugh, so grating. But Ice and Part definitely brought it. Even though Risa was evil, she never tried to paint herself as dainty or innocent. Everything she did was in true diva and villainess fashion. And at least her father provided her those “pet the dog” moments. At least he was her rock. But both Risa and Chun have harsh demises; which they deserved. But I must note: Every time Chun would reveal a secret that hindered Touch’s role, why would he do it at the expense of humiliating his grandmother? Why couldn’t he at least do the big dirty reveals one-on-one with his grandmother, who decided the heir apparent? Yet, in the last episode I understood why the grandmother allowed that. And in result, when Chun’s evil ways come to light, everyone issues out their revenge to him in the same fashion he did them. Out in the open at the most inappropriate time. I almost fail to mention Chane. He was great at seduction. He was Touch’s weakness, and that broke my heart. I’m glad he gets his comeuppance too. His most powerful and evil trait blew up in his face.

Salut and Wadee are the second pairing. And their relationship carried out well. And I rooted for them too. Yet, I wished we could’ve seen them more in the aftermath at the end. But I know they were happy in their new and happy life together. I was waiting for the pair to cross paths with Time. And I’m glad when they did.

Time and Treenut were an amazing couple. And I’m glad they got their happy ending. The moments when they’d eat together is when I’d see the chemistry the most. Fern and Tre weren’t acting, the audience was simply intruding on their date.

Lastly, I enjoyed the OSTs. Some complain about the OSTs. But I enjoyed them. I like how the main OST was included heavily in the score, along with its various instrumentals. It deserves an official remix. I enjoyed the part in episode 4 where Pop makes a cameo. But then in episode 14 (or was it 15?) where he makes another cameo. I like it when the singer cameos to perform the song live.

Will rewatch this drama again in the future. 10/10. Recommend.

Great Chemistry, Hot Guys and Passionate kisses - A lot of Slapping/Punching/Grabbing

Subjective Gut Rating - 8.25 (rounding up to 8.5)

Trigger warnings at the end of the review (might be spoilery for some).

I think it would be better if the title of this drama has something to do with ‘Time’, since the concept of time is constantly mentioned in this drama. “The Love Proposal” just sounds so common and cliche. Time management and bad timing seem to be the recurring theme, as our leads Time (ML) and Nut (FL) just can’t align their timing properly. I am still trying to get used to these long episodes (1.5 hrs each). The pacing is decent but I feel that it slows down towards the second half.

What I like:

Flirting - I know this is a weird #1 but it’s been a long time since I saw a male lead openly flirt with a girl while courting her in a very cute way. It’s very old-fashioned and typical in a rom-com, but for some reason, male leads don’t do that anymore. We see too many ‘cool’ guys or ‘cold on the outside’ guys that don’t seem to flirt with the ladies. It’s so cute to see Time trying to flirt with Nut in the first couple episodes. I would love to see more so that it creates a stronger foundation of their attraction and affection, before we go into all the family drama. Their chemistry is great.

Likable Main leads - Aside from the visuals of two handsome guys and a beautiful woman, Time (ML), Nut (FL) and Touch (2ML) are all very likable in their own way. Time is loyal, passionate, caring but could be emotional and impulsive. Some might not like his actions early on when he just couldn’t stay away from his sister-in-law. But you know what, he was blindsided by the surprise when he was trying to do the right thing to wait and get to know Nut. It’s really hard to stay away when the girl you like is living in the same house with you and you don’t have time to digest all that happened. But Time’s love for Nut is unwavering and I like Tre’s portrayal of him. Time does so much for people he cares about, you want to be loved by him, as a lover, a friend or a family member. Nut is in a tough position to want to wait for Time but can’t afford to. Throughout the drama, she appears strong in a calm way, rational and definitely not a pushover. She might not speak much at times but that’s because she knows when and when not to speak. She tries to do the right thing and distance herself from Time but it’s so darn hard. Dear Touch is such a sweetheart. He was dealt the worst cards. He’s so kind, giving, and considerate, and trying to shoulder the pressure of the family business. I was rooting for him and really wanted him to find a guy who cherishes him and have his happily-ever-after ending. The casting of these three roles is perfect. Tre as Time has the handsome, charismatic, cool guy look. Fern as Nut has the girl-next-door and lovely look. Toy as Touch as the quiet, shy and sweet guy look.

OST - I love all the songs in this drama. The theme song, "เวลา" (Time) by Pop Pongkool is beautiful and fits the drama so well. It speaks of bad timing, passing by and waiting for each other. It describes Time and Nut’s romance perfectly. Aside from that, the use of songs and lyrics in the drama was very well done. There was a scene during a car ride when Time and Nut were listening to this song, speaking of the inability to express one’s feelings and missing someone. That’s the perfect song and lyrics to describe what’s happening on screen. In addition, while playing the ‘guessing song’ game at the house party, each song sung and selected further describes the chaotic relationships between the characters there. The camera pans towards Time’s face when these lyrics were sung “The one who is forever sad is me not you”. Also panning the camera to those involved when these lyrics were sung, “The heart never stops loving the person that I love. My whole heart is with you. I don’t know what to do…the love that shouldn’t happen. I try to give up on you but I can't do it”.

Brotherhood - The tight bond between Time and Touch is lovely to see. They love and support each other through thick and thin, from start to finish. Touch always worries about Time and spoils his little brother. Time is loyal and looks up to Touch, and does a lot of the behind-the-scenes work to support Touch’s business dealings. Lovely their night time poolside chats and big bear hugs.

Acting - Pretty good all-around acting by all. The leads did a good job in some of the lighter moments, as well as emotional scenes. There’s quite a lot of crying by Time and Nut, but the crying doesn’t seem exaggerated and they still both look lovely with tears falling down their cheeks. The supporting cast isn’t bad either. Time’s friends are a fun bunch that provide some comic relief. In other lakorns, there’s always a veteran or two that I think outshines the younger cast. But for this drama, I have to say the main cast outshines the veteran actors. I also appreciate the lack of extended camera focus on a villain’s exaggerated look that happens so often in lakorns.

Hot guys in hot suits and hot kisses - Well, there are some good-looking guys in this drama and none of them is shy in showing us their nice toned upper body. This drama has a fantastic wardrobe department because I love all the nice tailored suits the men are wearing. They are stylish and colorful! I might not be a big fan of Touch’s light pink suit, but I love the bright blue and maroon ones, and also the casual wear that fit their bodies so nicely. Additionally, the women also look beautiful and their outfits match their personality quite well. Marisa wears bold red and sexy dresses, while Nut in lighter and flowery patterns. The mothers also dress nicely. On the other hand, we got some nice passionate kisses and sexy scenes. These scenes, though not many, are believable and shot nicely, and really added some romantic elements to this otherwise pretty serious melodrama.

What I Mixed Feelings or Don’t Like:

Slapping/Punching/Grabbing - I don’t think I’ve seen a drama with so much slapping in the face. We have women cat fights and repeatedly slapping each other. We have guys punching each other and getting into fights. You rarely see blood during these violent acts, until the plot needs some blood for a DNA test, then one punch will give you a nosebleed. There’s also a tremendous amount of wrist and arm grabbing. I haven’t seen too many lakorns, probably 5-8, and this drama has the most grabbing and slapping that I remember.

The other romance - Without spoiling too much, I might not like this pairing and romance as much as others. I am happy to see Jam as Sarut after seeing him in “To Sir With Love”. Sarut is in love with this woman but the drama never explores how and why he fell in love with her. The woman also goes from having a good and friendly impression of Sarut to falling in love with him in no time, after escaping from a certain difficult situation. I don’t feel the chemistry between them and don’t find their love story that interesting.
Action Scenes - Time can fight and he’s better than many of the bad guys. Why is he so good? Did he train in martial arts? I have no idea. The fight scenes are OK. They are not laughable but also not believable. I am most dissatisfied with how unrealistic the last couple episodes are. There’s no way a civilian could do so much, fight so many and come out unscathed. I also dislike the drawn-out, slow motion escape but I guess they need to match those scenes to the song.

Gay romance - I wish I could see more and find out why Touch couldn’t forget his ex. I wanted more than just a few flashback scenes. If you watch this drama thinking it’s a BL, you can stop. The gay romance is a side plot, and you will not find any fluffy scenes, maybe a couple kisses only.

Other Random Observations:
1. When ML’s mother passed out and was carried to the couch, I’ve never seen a character immediately put a pillow on top of her legs so nothing is revealed under the skirt!
2. The doctor is an all-purpose doctor - he’s there for your stitches, when you have a cold, when you need surgery and when you are in the ICU.
3. A CEO of a huge company has so much time in his hands to watch a commercial shoot.

Potential Triggers: domestic violence/abuse, suicide, S&M

Good series over all

The series was ok, it was a good style and a great cast of actors. It was well developed and enjoying over all. The down part I found was a sloppy ending. It all became to obvious and un realistic at times. I was not a fan of the ending as it looked like a rush end and the whole big part moment like really a gun and with lots of people and cops at the part the guy still got shot. I hated he kissing of the gay brother was so over done and obvious so that the two love birds can be together. by the end I was over it. Good Story but a bit of a let down for me personally.

situationship gone wrong

lakorns tend to mostly be a huge hit or awful miss for me, rarely anything in between, so i am always wary about each new thai production i pick up. i haven't been lucky with my last attempts, so it was a rather big surprise that i went for the more classic type of lakorn and found a drama that was more modern, less problematic and thoroughly enjoyable.

to describe the plot in few words -- it is a situationship gone wrong. :D treenut and time meet and feel attracted to each other. they spend time together getting closer, but time is not able to make their relationship official, therefore things fall apart. her family is in debt, so an acquaintance approaches them offering marriage of convenience -- their eldest son needs an heir to secure his inheritance and position as the president of a large business -- in exchange for paying treenut's father's debt. but, it soon turns out that treenut's husband-to-be is the oldest brother of time. sounds like the recipe for a confusing mess, right? :D

through hua jai sila and kleun cheewit i learned that lakorns can really excel at angst so intense it is addicting, so that was my only expectation going into this drama. and while yes, there were still some questionable plot devices, cat fights and toxic relationships that are often so associated with lakorns, i never expected to be introduced to such a kind and loving male lead, a female lead that can talk back and stand strong, a brotherhood that warms your heart, or see a new beautiful take on the flow of time as a concept.

despite some heavy topics (don't watch this is you find mental/physical/sexual abuse triggering), this drama felt on the lighter side, but still had a lot of substance. the brothers were a joy to watch, because they truly loved each other and never once did treenut being in the middle diminish their bond. if you have ever been in unrequited love, you know how painful it is to see your person and know they can't be yours, and yet time never planned to harm his brother or take away any of his happiness. instead he was actually being so good towards his brother and honestly everyone else as well, so much so that it sometimes felt like his selflessness leaves him thinking about himself last. ;-; i was unable to not fall for his character. also! if pining is one of the tropes you love, this is a drama for you.

another unique aspect about this show was the way the music was used to symbolize not only the character's feelings in particular moments, but the actual flow of their relationship was aways portrayed in the soundtrack as well. the characters consciously added more meaning to the songs and their lyrics -- which felt even more special. thanks to the subber translating all the lyrics, i realized how perfectly they explain the situation that was happening at that moment, and that made me more deeply immersed and emotionally invested.

there was a plot twist in ep 11 that took me by surprise and left me shook. it seemed to change the vibe of the drama and the rest of episodes felt kind of different, i am unsure if i liked them as much as the previous ones. however, i am still very pleased with the ending, as i think the bad guys got what they deserved. this is now in my top 3 of the lakorns i have seen.

One of the best Thai dramas I've watched.

One of the best Thai dramas I've watched. This story has been done before but they found a way to make it fresh. I also cared about all the characters. The female lead was a good actress and not pathetic. The male lead was new to me but I really enjoyed his performance. Great chemistry and love story with good ending. The only thing I would say I didn't like was the BL subplot was sad. I wish the older brother had a happy ending also. Other than this is definitely a drama I will rewatch. You should definitely give this drama a chance.

I was scrolling through Twitter when I saw the promotional posters for this lakorn and saw Fern (the main actress). I hadn't seen any projects of hers since Hua Jai Sila and the premise of this one interested me greatly. I wanted to see how it was executed and wanted to feel some angsty love. I gave it a go and here's what I think:

1. Story
I wasn't impressed with the story in the beginning, because I found the execution to be lacking. However once I got past episode 6, I didn't look back and essentially binged watched because the story was so damn good. The layers of lies and secrets they built in the early episodes slowly unraveled one by one like an onion and it was very entertaining. There was always something exciting going on. The pacing that the secrets get revealed maximized dramatic effect, so it was interesting to see how the characters reacted, and what their next move was. The story was always being pushed to its limits and it was unpredictable. Overall, I was impressed by the story and production, and it's the first time in a while that I kept watching just to see how it all ended.

2. Leads
The leads were interesting in that they were your typical poor girl/rich guy but with a twist. Nuch was the more no-nonsense, realistic lead while Tham was more emotional and wore his heart on his sleeve. It made for a different dynamic and it was interesting to see how these traits played out. I thought Fern and Tre did a good job with their characters, and it helped that they're both good-looking and complement each other (I especially enjoyed how the screenwriter/director seemed to use any excuse to keep Tre shirtless haha).

3. Secondary Cast
When you have a storyline as crazy as this and with the lengths that it was pushed, it can only be good if all the actors/actresses are committed to putting on a good show. Frankly, all of them delivered. I have to give big kudos to the cast in general (primary and secondary) because they all acted their pants off and were a big part in why this was such an exciting show to watch. They all made the crazy things seem believable and it was easy to immerse myself in the story because of them. My fav character is Tham's lakorn writer friend and my MVP is That. That was so heartbreaking for me because of how self-sacrificing he was and how he just wants to make everyone happy. What happened to him was a big injustice and I hope Toy's next role won't be as sad.

4. Romance
Surprisingly the romance was my least favourite part of the lakorn and was the main reason why I wanted to drop this early on. The foundation for their love story was not believable and (I hate to say it) felt forced. I think it was unfair for Tham to get ragged on for not being with Nuch faster, when he got badly burned by moving too fast in his previous relationship. I also don't know where he got the conviction to say she was the one even though they went on like 3 dates. As for Nuch, I didn't see why she would fall for Tham with how immature he was. I felt like a no-nonsense woman like her wouldn't really pine for a guy who she had a few dates with. I guess love doesn't always make sense and when you know, you know? Sure you could have that kind of romance set-up but I was not a fan of how they executed it here, and unfortunately didn't feel invested in their relationship.

5. Overall
This was one of the rare lakorns where I didn't like the beginning, but grew to enjoy more as it progressed. The story and acting was just too good. The romance was serviceable. The music was bopping and there was a lot of variation; I actually looked up some of the songs and added them to my playlist. I don't think I'd re-watch this because I know the plot twists. I'd totally recommend this if you want an entertaining, well-acted drama with eye-candy leads.

Have tissues on hand ..

Oh my heart. My heart, my heart.

I cried more than I typically do.

I tried not to, but these two leads have it.

I am not familiar with the ML, this was the first I've seen of him and I would LOVE to see more ;)

He had great charisma and some of his looks toward the FL took my breath away.

I love when they have conversations without speaking .. so much emotion!

The FL is one of my favorites.

She's a great actress and portrays facial expressions very well.

The looks, the glances, the subtle touches, the conversations with their eyes .. their chemistry is off the charts.

Their NATURAL chemistry .. they were so believable.

Their kisses were great - passionate, solid, real kisses.

I am not a BL fan and some scenes were fast forwarded as result.

The story was a good one .. had all the usual Lakorn spices mixed in.

I don't care for the slapping, pulling, and abuse toward women in general so the sadistic Chun was a hard one to watch.

It's interesting how they showed his BDSM side, seldom see that in dramas.

This spoke a lot about his core character in general.

And then the brother Touch .. poor guy.

He wanted to uphold his family legacy so bad and tried so hard.

The scene when he tries to make love to the FL made me sad.

His whole story line was sad .. I wanted a better ending for him.

I still don't understand how people get themselves in so much debt and then expect their child(ren) to offer themselves up to pay off that debt.

The man wasn't even her father and she sold herself for his gambling debt.

Did he stop after 2 million was paid?

Nope, not a chance.

A thing that irked me was the two were told to stay inside (FL mom and mom's man), but they are out walking in town, eating and shopping.

No cares in the world, doing what they want.

Side plots and characters were great .. they all fit the story well.

This is definitely one of my top Lakorn faves now.

I would love to see the two leads in another production together.

One of the best lakorns I watched.

Boy! This was an amazing Thai lakorn, this show had me in so many emotions, but I truly enjoyed going through them. I was in tear, in shock, hype at the little action and some laugher. Throughout the show I grew to like certain character and I did not even dislike the villains of the show either because I understood they had no morals and would try to climb to the top by any means necessary.
* LIKES
- The acting was phenomenal.
- The actors were well casted.
- The love and intimacy between P'Touch and P'Time.
- P'Touch has won me over with his gentleness, warmed, kindness, love for his family and willingness to help others. He was a great boss to his employees; they truly felt his absents. Everyone felt it, his family, friends and employees. He is my favorite character in the show, to be honest. I truly appreciate that P'Touch did not hide the fact that he is gay from Treenuch, he laid it all out on the table telling her the reason as to why he needs a child, which put the ball in her court to make the decision of whether or not she will marry him.
* DISLIKES
This is not so much a dislike, but it what triggered or annoyed me.
- Marissa gives me maneater vibe, this is where she uses men and then discard them. Now that she realizes that men out there don't live up to her standards, she wants to be with P'Time again but, she still did not change her ways. Don't get me wrong I think she deserves the best man, but she also has to do the work on herself (maybe I am thinking too much into this).
- So, I'm a bit annoyed with Treenuch because she should have been with P'Touch when she found out about the video, she shouldn't have left him in the emergency exist of the hospital. My reasoning is that she has accepted this role to be his wife. Although I don't believe she is to be taken advantage of and I hate the way Yada (P'Touch and P'Time mother) treated her and focus her to do things she was not comfortable with. I do think she should have stayed by his side to comfort him and provide him with her wisdom. But Treenuch is not to blame.
- Throughout the show I pity P'Touch because of the heavy obligations' he had to live up to and he was not allowed to be openly gay and love who he wanted to love.
-I really wished P'Time would have respected P'Touch boundaries and not share his private medical information, even though he was telling Treenuch, I rather she heard it from P'Touch and I think she should have put P'Time in this place about that. I didn't know if he was using that information to get closer to Treenuch, to me his intentions were unclear.
-I don't know if P'Touch was dickmataized or just plain naive to that bastard of a man (Shane) to give him a second chance at access to him after he walked in on him having sex with another man, there are just somethings that are unforgivable, and cheating is one of them. I know it is hard to move on from someone you saw a future with, but it would have gotten better in time. This is not me blaming P'Touch, I'm just stating the obvious because some of us burn to learn.
* 2 THINGS I FOUND FUNNY
1. The fact that P'Time speaks with his hands throughout the show. Every time he would get in Orchun face I would chuckle a little. They're aggressive banter would kill me.
2. P'Time dressing up in the disguise for which you could clearly see it was him. Made me laugh.
* CHARACTER, I FELT BAD FOR
- I truly felt for Yada for losing her child, that is never easy, and a mother might never heal from that.
- I kind of felt bad for Orchun's mother, she lost her son and everything in the end. Seeing how she end up made he feel for her.

Overall, I would highly recommend this series. It is pack full of drama, and action. Please have tissue on hand because you would definitely cry during this show.
This review of the show was not about the romance to me, to be honest sometimes I would forget that it had a romance element to it because of all the other plots it has. Although the show is advertised as a romance show (that's why I started it) it was more than that for me, after a while I did not care about the romantic relationship between P'Time and Treenuch.

How is this a 10?

Dear watchers, sorry to disappoint, there is NO WAY i would give this a ten - ever. It's certainly NICE all in all, nice faces, nice settings, good conflict, a lot of drama, details on point too... BUT it's really REALLY way too cliché, even actors' faces bring nothing new, they just fall into a pattern of beauty standards! The ML is handsome, but totally undistinguishable from other actors in the drama land... About the plot? The handsome CEO falls for a working-class woman, but things come in-between them... You saw this a million times before, right? Not to mention that FAKE vibe most lakorns give off, when all characters wear super fashionable wrinkle-free clothes and a super white smile and are super talented/successful in their field of work!!
About the GIRL IN DEBT trope? I forgot how many times i came across this... Please, is this a 21st century movie?
So... If you dont set your expectations too high and just wanna enjoy a typical lakorn while your brain takes some rest - this is the one to go for!
