Bromance School drama disguised as regular friendship drama
The trailer of this drama from the beginning showcased Bromance between the two male leads, it didn't even mention the female lead in the trailerSo I'm addicted to good friendships Bromance Not Bl dramas, I waited until the drama came out and my doubts became Clear, it's really Bromance drama disguised as regular friendship drama with the female lead there to pass censorship in China LOL
That said, this drama is family-oriented youth drama, it's not BL or gay love drama it's about two boys in school who were at odds at first with totally different personalities but when the male lead's father decided for his son to study under the A student of the school to raise his grades, they gradually became close friends, a typical friendship story
what is beautiful about this drama is the characters, the boys have amazing chemistry with each other, they have different personalities but each one adds to the other, and they complete each other's shortcomings
the male lead Jing Hui is such a naughty kind of lost boy but he really needs a good friend to take care of him in school and to understand him,, he needs love from someone close to him because he has trauma from his past
the other boy is a good boy in everything but he's not happy and he's immersed in studying and living a very sad life with his mother so he's also alone, he needs someone to make him happy and have fun
the female lead didn't disrupt this friendship she added to it, her presence made the boys bond more and they both were friends with her even the second lead had sort of crush on her but they didn't go down that Romantic road not entirely
also, the male lead knew about his female friend's crush and he encouraged it, so there was no jealousy nor fighting over the girl not any of that nonsense
the three characters were best friends trying to lift each other up and help each other, having fun, and living their youth to the fullest
There was not much angst in this,, they got separated for a while but returned back to each other again
they misunderstood each other but got back to being best friends again shortly
so this drama is a feel-good drama
it makes you feel lonely because you want to have such amazing friendships as the characters
This drama is really comforting very warm drama and you won't regret watching it
there are skinship scenes here .. they hug each other in various occasions as any friends do
they talk their heart out to each other, they comfort each other and they love brotherly love to each other
also, they aren't related as suggested at the beginning of the drama you will know why at the end
If you are a Bromance or Bl fan you will love it

Bright Time: A Heartfelt Journey of Friendship and Self-Discovery
Finished! What a beautiful drama about coming of age and building a close-knit, lifelong friendship. It centers on the lives of two boys, Lan Jing Hui and Ling Dong, highlighting the challenges they face, the misunderstandings they navigate, and how they ultimately rebuild their bond. The drama delves into family relationships, academic pressure and stress, the complexities of friendship, and the journey toward self-discovery, providing a more nuanced story than typical high school dramas. The performances were exceptionally well-acted, adding depth and authenticity to the characters. I think it is a story that will resonate with many, offering a refreshing take on the familiar themes of adolescence.Cet avis était-il utile?

Bright Time: A Story of Friendship (and more?)
Just completed this. I saw a clip or bonus scene of the 2 ML’s in college but it wasn’t in the final episode. This drama started out a solid 8.5 but towards the middle-ending it kind of went downhill. I’m sorry to say that the FL was probably the most mousy childish FL in awhile. She had this aura of talking softly and almost babyish and even wore her hair in childish rubberbands and clips. Even if her best friend wore childish clips it wasn’t as bad. I found myself skipping most of her scenes that didn’t include the 2 ML’s. I even skipped parts with the annoying popular girl that Ma Yiming liked. She was so snobby and I hate that the writers forced them together after the way she treated him throughout the show. I liked monitor’s and Qingtian’s relationship. Started from a one sided crush to being friends to him telling her he likes her in the final episode. They held hands briefly and she even drank his cup of bubble tea so there was that inadvertent kiss, but other than that, don’t expect any more romance. And finally on to the 2 ML. If you told me this was a BL disguised as a bromance, I would have believed you. All their interactions were so cute. They really made it impossible to believe they didn’t have secret crushes on each other. They even had these not so innocent moments that made me almost blush. From the hand holding to them laying down next to each other with their heads nearby, everything about them was chef’s kiss 👩🏽🍳💋Would I watch it again? Probably not. But if they had a drama with just the 2 ML’s then I would definitely watch it. Even without the subtle romance, they had a friendship that started from childhood and into high school and beyond. Although they were enemies at first, they became best friends at the end. Please someone make a new drama with these 2 again.

It became my favorite bromance ♡
You don't know how much I loved this drama. I knew from the beginning that I was going to love it and I watched it when I was in a block. It got me out of my block at once.I was a little afraid of the romance because I started watching it because I was told the bromance was good. And I have to tell you, it became my favourite bromance. Sometimes I wonder if it's really bromance for me the ending seemed more bl and the plot revolved around the two of them mainly. I loved it.
This drama motivated me a lot and taught me a lot as well. The plot was very good. It even made me want to study. Seeing how they lived their school years and how they struggled to get into a good university.
One of my favourite parts is when Hui hears Ling Dong playing the guitar and then he goes over there and starts to play too... how they look at each other afterwards >< the song that they both composed is my favorite.
Another one of my favourite parts is when Hui comes back and Ling Dong and he talks... you know what I mean ^^
I have many favourite parts >< I don't even know which one to mention.
One of the main characters also acted in Hikaru no go and the bromance there is also very good. It was my favourite bromance before Bright time.

heartfelt youth drama on friendship
I didn't expect to love this drama. At first, I thought it would have an ordinary story, but it turns out this drama is, if not the best, one of the good youth dramas I've watched. Lan Jinghui's character definitely brought the story to life. Additionally, the strong, unexpected friendship between the characters—especially Lan Jinghui and Ling Dong—shows that there will always be someone who brings out the best in you. Their kind of friendship is truly worth keeping. Although this may not be the absolute best drama, it's definitely worth watching at least once in your life. One of the things I really admire about this drama is the lesson on genuine care in friendship. It shows how caring for others with sincerity can create meaningful, lasting bonds.Cet avis était-il utile?

Reply to of Xiao Xiao Hua’s letter ?
If anyone knows what Ling Dong’s reply to Xiao Xiao Hua’s letter is, please tell me, or it will haunt me every day. 🥲It’s been a long time since I stopped watching dramas, but this one came across my YouTube feed, so I saved it for a month to watch later. 😄 And now that I’ve watched it, I regret it.🙂↕️
This drama is about how time brings changes to our lives. We don’t remain the same; a moment comes, and everything changes.
This drama seems to perfectly mirror the relationship between my friend(s) and me. Our love is neither more nor less. Now we’ve graduated and gone to different universities, and I miss them every single day. I hope that our feelings and friendship don’t change and that we meet again someday.
I used to be confused about my relationships, but now I’ve become clear. Maybe this is what people call bromance.😕
Thanks to this drama.❤️❤️

The Best Friendship and Bromance
I am a big fan of the drama 'Hikaru no Go,' and it was through that show that I became a fan of Hao Fushen's acting. Watching this current drama as well, he portrays friendship and obsession incredibly well. Initially, this drama was rumored to have bromance elements, but since it is a school youth drama, there was a possibility of a romantic element developing between the two main characters, which I think worried viewers who enjoy bromance. However, having watched it to the final episode, I want to assure everyone that there are no romantic elements, so you can watch it without concern. The trio of one girl and two boys is always together. The girl initially has a crush on one of the boys, but this gradually turns into a deep friendship. Ultimately, they form a solid bond that seems like it will last a lifetime as they pursue their goals.
The bromance is very compelling. In the end, the two main boys start living together. It's perfect. They will never be separated. It may seem that the girl was added between them to avoid censorship, but it was very satisfying to watch her overcome her negative and weak-willed personality, become more assertive, and work towards achieving her own dreams.
Since this is a school youth drama, there are many exaggerated moments, but that’s what youth is all about. I highly recommend this drama not only to fans of bromance and BL but also to those who enjoy youth dramas.

Bright Time: As Bright as the Sunshine
Guys, we are all aware that BL shows is technically banned in China, most of which are stuck inside each platform’s dungeon respectively, and none of them will be seeing the light of the day. In other words, they are trapped in the obscurity of darkness for eternity until somebody can lift a hand to help them get out of this confinement. What I mean is that most of BL shows need to have international airing permit or cut down several intimate scenes so that the show can be censored safely without unnecessary conflicts. This case also happens in Bright Time, the show that I will be reviewing today. Back in 2021, Bright Time had got the airing permit but never got the chance to air, supposedly because of the BL vibes in it. After 3 years of uncertainties, Bright Time finally aired in July 2024 though it was not overly hyped unlike other popular romance shows. Dating back to November, I coincidentally found Bright Time as I was scrolling at MDL as usual, while keeping my face to the grindstone for end-of-year exams. At first, I thought this was going to be another old-school drama where they deployed all sorts of tropes into one dish. But lord, was I proven wrong?
Bright Time’s story revolves around seven youths consisted of the wild and unruly Lan Jinghui, the stone-faced straight-A student Ling Dong, the cute and adorable Xiao Xiaohua, the foodie Xia Qingtian, the optimistic class monitor Chen Luyang, the playful Ma Yiming, and the school belle Xu Mengyu. Together, they bravely face the challenges of highschoolers’ daily lives and learn the importance of friendship and self-discovery and embark on a fantastic journey to find their true selves.
Actually, the plot focuses more on Lan Jinghui and Ling Dong’s storyline, with Xiao Xiaohua as the ‘mediator’ so that Bright Time can pass censorship. Widely known as an unruly bad boy, Lan Jinghui becomes notorious for his silly pranks and constant neglection of schoolwork. Therefore, his father and the principal, who happens to be an old friend, decide that Lan Jinghui would be better off to be tutored by the cleverest student in the class, which is none other than Ling Dong. When they first encounter each other, Ling Dong is dismissive of Lan Jinghui’s antics but still has to this ruffian for greater good. Unexpectedly, Ling Dong’s daily routine is turned upside down by Lan Jinghui’s sudden appearance and thus marks the start of a heartwarming and passionate story of the youths who want to pursue their dreams and be each other’s life companion.
If you’re a BL lover, you’ll immediately discover that this show is a BL disguised as an ordinary friendship drama. There are a lot of not-so-intimate scenes where they sleep or lie on the ground together, or perhaps when they hug each other for a certain period of time. I’m sure there are more of it, but since the shitty censorship is playing cruel, we can’t have dozens of scenes like this (it’s already such a fortune that it doesn’t get banned like other BL)
I must also appreciate for the actors’ phenomenal acting especially Hao Fusen and Bian Cheng. Hao Fusen is a talented young actor who can easily capture the essence of Lan Jinghui’s character and he’s definitely a force to be reckoned with. His facial expression is also on point, which makes me easier to relate to his character. In contrast, Bian Cheng plays the cold and aloof Ling Dong, a role which is neither challenging nor complicated. Despite this, he still pulls off Ling Dong’s character seamlessly and also explores a wide range of emotions with the aid of his good micro-expression. I’ll also looking forward to seeing his future works – bet he’s going to be a rising star lol. Also, the other actors also contribute to the success of the show, and I would like to commend them for tackling and understanding each character pretty well.
OSTs, cinematography, costumes, sets, and backgrounds are of high-budget value and look pretty nice. I can’t help but fall in love with the song that they sing at the Art Competition – it’s quite something, I must say.
Overall, a brilliant ten of out ten. I highly recommend this show for those who’re still longing for BL or perhaps who want to see an outstanding high-school drama amongst a bunch of flops drifting here and there. Have a good watch and good luck!!!
