if u want to experience what a tragical ending feels like this one is the best for that
well the ending was a bit yk overall I liked it it was good and the acting was chef's kiss. the badass female lead was the best. well I'd recommend this drama it's was rlly good it's just that there was an unnecessary death that rlly disappointed me bc all she had was him but ig it was good for the plot? well watch it but be aware that the ending may be heartbreaking. I'm going to rewatch it soon bc I don't remember some stuff and I might write another review in the future to give a more detailed information.Cet avis était-il utile?

Started off Promising then Nosedived.
Spoilers right from the get go but:We could've had a nice mafia family winning for once. We could've had a refreshing KDrama where ACAB and the "good guys" lose. I was loving the Mafia Boss adopts Child and is actually a big softie trope that went on for most of this drama. Why couldn't we have just ended with her going off to live by the beach after all he did for her.
But no, half way through Episode 6 they just had to ruin it and make it a generic, predictable mafia story.
And the sudden romance in Episode 8? Please get out of here. I genuinely thought they were gunna be best friends. But of course KDramas just HAVE to have a straight main romance *pukes*
This drama started off so well and for the first 5 episodes to the point I was bawling with tears during episode 1 and 2, it was solid and amazing. It really nose dived the last two and half episodes to the point I really did not care in the final episode and sighed just watching it. What a shame.

Great series but questioning story
First, it was short and action packed, so it kept me engaged until the end. The acting was amazing, characters were interesting and the music was a bop, I could have finished it in one day, but because of work I finished it in two! I truly recommend it but some things don't add up (SPOLERS!!!):Why didn't the police protect Jiwoo in any way? That captain knew what was going on but did nothing... I suppose he thought she died as well, but he could have found her before that whole ordeal happened and protect her in some way.
If he wanted to keep her busy and also protect himself, Moojin could have fabricated some evidence to make her suspect the captain. Why didn't he just kill Gangjae instead of only hurting him? That guy was crazy, it was obvious he would try and get revenge?
And soo soo many other stuff... like how did she even survive at the end? Who helped her? The captain? The police was searching for her, how didn't she end up in jail?
I was so invested in this story it was hard to question things while watching it, only after so it was really good anyway!

Incredible cast!
Action packed with some expected twist and turns. I can't say the storyline is all that unique but I enjoyed it because so many other factors were perfect:1. Casting:
Han so Hee, I've seen her in many beautiful girl roles but here she's fierce, broken, angry, mysterious all at the same time. They had to use make up to tone down her beauty. Amazing acting and you can tell she trained hard for the role.
Park Hee Soon, ruthless gangster you'll just love. His expressions ever so captivating borderline psychotics
Anh BoHyun, I usually see him playing some jerk character so it was nice to see him in this role and he definitely pulled off the part.
Lee Hak Joo, Gangster's right hand man. Loved his character & a great supporting role
2. Production: action packed, great stunts and fight scenes. It wasn't a cheap production that's for sure but maybe that's why it was only 8 episodes.
3. Music, cinematography. Happy there was no super white light making actors pearl white. No shaky hand syndrome during fight scenes.
Sadly it could've been so much more:
There were some "ummm ok? that just happened moments"
Like how she got caught? what? How she walked away ? what? & how ML just what?
Only 8 episodes, could've used a lot more development. Dialogue between FL / ML to build that connection. They rushed through and that relationship really needed some more slow burn
Ending was less than desirable. Such a strong start then ended like that. I felt like they were trying to pull a Monster boy + Night in paradise style but didn't quite work

Great premise but...
I have seen the main actress in "The World of the Married" so I recognized her and I have to applause her for taking this role which is very different than her previous role and put her effort into this role but I still have to say that there is still something lacking her performance. I am not sure how to describe it. As the main character she didn't shine here being overshadowed entirely (to me) by Park Hee-soon (the actor who played Mujin-gang boss). But her acting was good in the scene where FL's dad came back and dying in front of her. I think she just needs more experience in badass fighting revenge girl role. There are a few actresses that I think would do better in portraying this character.I love the premise and first episode but then my expectation went down hill because of plot holes and some nonsensical things and weird things that characters do that I don't understand why (I just don't want to spoil so I won't mention in details). I got both annoyed and entertained by these actually :)). I don't think the romance and the sex scene is needed and the ending is disappointed.
I wonder if the writer just want to show us a girl who can fight but not that smart except whenever she fight (because she has to otherwise how are we convinced that she win right? or she would just survive no matter what because she is the main character) and I don't like this kind of portrayal of women. I don't like how the way the writer write the FL and Mujin character. Park Hee-soon's stellar performance really leaves a deep impression in me not that his character is that attractive but the actor himself is the one who attracted me whenever he appeared when you watch it you will know what I mean and the actor Chang Ryul the one who played Gang-jae is also pretty good, too in my opinion.
Overall it is still good to watch tho because it is entertaining. Just don't expect great, deep and meaningful plot. Cinematography, ost is good. Fighting scene only a few is good.

Did not expect that.
Wow!!Great action, superb acting and short enough to get the whole story down in 8 episodes. It didn't drag out to long.
In the beginning I may have wished that it was the police that killed her father and she gained another father figure from Choi Min Jin, but it helps having plot twists misleading us from the actual truth to gain our attention span for the whole drama.
The one thing I did not see coming was the romance. The drama went on about revenge didn't really focus on the partner relationship Yoon Ji Woo has with Pildo and out of no where episode 8 they both sleep together. That was unexpected because I wasn't reading any romance between them just that they both had similar goals of catching a murderer of their loved one.
I did not expect that ending. It was cruel to Yoon Ji Woo. She looses her father then for the first time in 5 years she finally learns to trust and lean on someone else and he gets killed right in front of her.

Don’t read if you haven’t watched it
I love everything about the drama except the fact that he too long before he knew the truth and don’t like the fact that the male lead character, the cop died. I would have given it a 10 stars if the end want a sad ending. I don’t like sad ending at all, it’s make me feel like I wasted my time watching the showCet avis était-il utile?
Gang violence dramatically portrayed!
This drama was honestly such a pleasant surprise for someone who has been k-drama sober for a few months. The plot was amazing, unexpected but amazing. Actors were also top tier. The only thing that made it drop to a 8.5 is the unnecessary sex scene Netflix dramas often have.Let's start with the plot. We have a pretty stable plot, with an introduction to the two (but not all) of the main characters in the first episode. It's quick, but not too quick where it doesn't lay the foundation for its character. It quickly build the antagonist but tears down this assumption we had throughout near the end. I love it for it's simplicity and quick wrap-up of 8 episodes.
Moving on to the actors. Literally 10/10. Let's start with Han So Hee. I knew her as a soft, easy-to-manipulate girl from "Nevertheless," so at first, I thought she wouldn't play this bad-ass role well. I was wrong. She showed her resilience by proving that she could act these roles. Moving on to Park Hee Soon, this is the first time I've seen his work. I'm very very impressed by how well he pulled off his character and his character's seemingly mysterious aura. Lastly, we have Ahn Bo Hyun. He really does the best in this genre; he pulls off his role as a policeman very very well. The chemistry he had with our main character wasn't the best thing ever but also wasn't the worst thing ever. I feel like it could have developed better if the drama was a bit longer, but I'm thankful that they didn't force more episodes to include romance (The random sex scene made it a lot worse.)
Overall, I highly recommend this!

so much emotion
Asian dramas have so much raw, real emotions they really make you feel it unlike american tv shows where it feels empty most of the time. My name is no exception it's a short limited series but it's so good and even though it has it's predictable moments there are some plot twist that shock you. The fight scenes are pretty epic as well they pull no punches and you can really feel like it's a painful process to actually produce these scenes.Just when you think the show is wrapping up and you think it's going in one direction BAM! it goes in the completely different direction it's a wild ride.

great drama with a fairly disappointing ending
(no specific spoilers but i vaguely discuss the quality of the finale)overall this is a really sold drama with high quality production acting and visuals. it’s been a bit since i’ve watched this but the ending kind of spoiled this for me? i really wanted to see a bit more wrap up as i feel everything happened so fast and i was left with a lot of unanswered questions. this really could have used few extra episodes or even a second season or special ep?
some things i have to give high praise to are the fight scene choreography, overall cinematography, and visuals. special mention for the prop team, one thing that i’ve noticed in some recent dramas i’ve watched (ex: not me) is that the weapon props are so lightweight? that it definitely looks unrealistic especially with larger guns, my name managed to not break the immersion in this way.
tldr: great watch except the ending very visually pleasing, with an engaging plot, and some stand out performances.
(pls excuse lack of caps and any questionable spelling and grammar haha)

My Name is very predictable. What you think will happen after episode 1 will most likely actually happen. That doesn’t make the show any less entertaining, though. It still managed to surprise me once or twice, and even though it lost me a little towards the end, I still enjoyed the show for what it is: a very fulfilling revenge story.
Han So-hee acts her ass off, and the anger and sadness in her portrayal of Yoon Ji-woo feels very convincing. The show also has a great, memorable soundtrack that really adds a lot to the experience, but gets a tiny bit repetitive towards the end. At only 8 episodes, each around 50 minutes long, My Name is on the shorter side as far as K-Dramas go, but for this story, that’s a good thing. It’s just as long as it should be. Any longer would’ve just made it feel like a drag.
