Cute to the end!
I love the split into highschool that gives the back story to build the characters. This makes a potentially too short drama so much richer. Beautiful ending, too, even though I was scared to watch the last episode initially. I love how the side couples also have a lot to offer to the story. my only complaint is the main couple had a bit too dramatic of a shift between HS and college with one of the characters. He ended up being a lot different than what you would expect from a former fitness freak.Cet avis était-il utile?
Started good, ended-up lousy!
I was very excited at first when this was announced because finally, our boy JJ will finally have a main role credit under his profile here and the main actors who are quite new seem promising, BUT, it turns out, this is just one of those BL series made to launch an actor to the BL industry, and to make money for the concerned production companies. The story is quite promising and interesting given the fact that it's very generic, but I feel like the production failed to give justice to how the story was executed and unfolded. At first, I was very giddy because I thought Pawin and Marc are very cute together but later on, I got bored. You know, it has been past half the season and they are still in high school bickering about nonsensical things. Like hello, you only have 12 episodes so you might as well use that shortage to take things like an intense roller coaster ride but with what I have seen, I felt like I was also riding a roller coaster... but with only 1mph speed. You know how that feels. I also felt like I went to a horror house where the ghouls are very corny and not even funny. I will not mind if the events in the show will unfold hastily, that's fine, as long as the experience was given justice but with My gear and Your Gown, I felt ripped from my WeTV subscription. Also, I felt that the twist in the story where Itt was actually Student Number 900something who would antagonize Pai upfront was actually secretly rooting and loving him; I felt that that was a good twist, even though again it's quite generic (some things don't get old you know) but for me, they failed big in relaying effectively that part. That's where I get the title of this review LOUSY! It lacked creativity and tackiness. They could have done something better for that and have told that part of the story in a way that will take the audiences' breath away. I normally get past lapses in a show/series that I watch and appreciate what's good but I just can't forgo this one. I think this series has a pretty good message: teaching people safe sex and monogamy to prevent STDs, the importance of education, the importance of parent's support and understanding a queer child, and a lot more but again, I felt that the production failed to relay these important takeaways EFFECTIVELY! In the show, there would be scenes that don't make sense, there are also events that aren't sequenced logically. I FELT THAT EVERYTHING IN THIS SERIES FAILED IN EVERY ASPECT OF EVERYTHING THEY HOPED THAT THIS WOULD TURN OUT TO BE except to introduce Marc Pahun and Win Pawin as new and upcoming BL names. I liked more how Pawin's character in The Stranded was designed and executed. Also, I felt that the ships in this show are forced. It's like food that you don't like that your mom keeps on shoving to your throat otherwise bad things will happen. I felt that way with how they chose pairings for loveteams in this series in short, there was no enough chemistry to make things work. JJ and Neen's pairing was cringy. Like, there are ships like them; an older girl and a younger boy, but this one's a wreck plus JJ's acting hasn't improved. It's still very obvious plus the trying hard yet funny English words that he is trying to blurt out are very ridiculous. Fiat and Aun's couple also is quite weird on-screen. It just didn't work. The fuck boy who suddenly took interest to a perfectly good boy vibes? I get that, but, again, there is something off with how they interact---no chemistry maybe? Finally, Marc and Win who at first is giving that generic BL couple progress, enemies at first, lovers in the end but with how slow their story went, the chemistry got lost somewhere before the middle season until it turned out bland. This is also my feelings towards how they ended the show. I felt like the ending is very bland, awkward, and useless. They should have just hurt us by making Itt and Pai separate because Pai can't get over with pressure and expect for a season 2. That would be more acceptable than an expedited ending. It seems like they just made everything right there and then without a clear storyline because everything is 'shittyly' done. And I just need to take this off my chest and sorry for mentioning this but I think the way Win cried in front of his parents during that scene at the table is very cringy and appalling. Having said that, every character acting in this show, except for Neen and Fiat's, needs a whole lot of improvement. Over-all, my expectations failed me just as how A Chance to Love failed also at giving LBC a sequel. I know that these shows were announced together as a joint project with WeTV but turns out, the way they told both stories was very lousy and crappy.
PS:
I will edit this review if ever I can think of good things to point out about this series.

Not the best...
I am disappointed with this show. I am only really watching for Pure and Folk now. The two main actors are not that good of actors. They needed more help and maybe more time before getting main roles in a drama. I think the script also needed a lot of work. I am currently reading the book and I am disappointed on how it is compared to the book, with the book being so much better. This show is okay, but I highly doubt I’ll watch it again once it ends unless to see Pure and Folk story line. Fiat is awesome in it.Cet avis était-il utile?
Started off well .... then lost it ....
Okay this drama was not really on my list, It sort of just popped in while scrolling. And it first it started off really well, then somewhere along the line it got lost in translation. The fist few minutes of the show set them in University, before flashing back to 7 episodes of high school, which can be a little confusing to start. The evolution of Itt and Pai felt much more natural with slow burn feelings and stolen looks, as well as trying to figure out how they felt about each other. When they get to university, everything felt kind of forced. For me the whole misunderstanding over a class room, then boom we at a university gathering and there was no spark whatsoever between them was really disappointing.
Then you have pure who had a scare in high school, but didn't seem to mend his ways was a really tragedy. The fact that the writer touched on this topic, but it somehow didn't hit the impact of how dangerous unprotected sex is, and just flew over the top his head, and carried on with messed up ways, was really disappointing. I like the fact that we have an unabashedly bisexual character without much fanfare and effort to harp on the issue of bisexuality. Pure's most prominent trait is his promiscuity, but he is a character whom one can sympathize with.
Waan was really sweet in this drama, and always seemed to have friends back.
It's ridiculous how 90% of the problems in the show could have been solved by just talking and communicating. I know people are a little like that too, but seriously? I still don't get how Itt stays by Pai's side by helping and taking care of him in the dark but is not capable of talking to him face to face to clarify he's not angry at him nor does he hate him. What's the point?
Another point is that we can't see when and how Itt starts liking Pai. The acting is more obvious on Pai's case, but Itt? Not his dialogues, nor his face or eyes say a thing. Then he acts all angry when he finds out about the classroom, doesn't talk to him for months, and then suddenly appears, helps him and likes him? "he was never angry"
This drama lacked a whole lot, it's like the writers/producers are putting less and less effort every time. Little budget, rookie actors who are obviously handsome.
Overall: it's an okay watch, but it definitely lacks a whole lot!!

A Good Attempt At Something Kinda Different
So initially here were my thoughts on this show. "Wayyyy too slow could not get into it and boring tbh" and I dropped it because the pacing was so freaking slow at times. Also the story hadn't had me invested enough to care. However, I did pick up the show again and it improved with more time but it still didn't hit the mark I wish it could've. The show is divided into 2 halves, high school and college life. I much prefer the college life, where the high school section could have easily been cut shorter. We really didn't need all that exposition and petty fighting over clubs. Though the stuff centered around the mom was nice and it broke my heart.Other than the pacing, the main couple and its actors I wasn't too fond of. Which is a huge problem! Them together was just irritating. With their lack of communication skills and passive aggressiveness. I didn't care if they got together or not by the end! Their acting was not great as well, which makes sense because I think they're newcomers? But I needed more from them, especially Pai's character. I didn't buy him at all. The parents in this show were also literally all trash (except for the sick mom of course) either non-caring or total hoes. Honestly thank god for the side characters/couple in this because without them this show would've been a horrible horrible trainwreck. Pure and Folk are way WAY more interesting than our mains, they brought so much to the narrative and it got me actually interested enough to finish the show. Unfortunately it takes until the halfway point to see them!
The discussion of HIV with Pure's character was great and so important. Also the friends-with-benefits arch in the relationship was a nice progression to see. It felt more real. I also appreciate that Pure is very clearly bisexual or pansexual, its even visually represented in a way that was hilarious. However, the choice to have him be represented as kinda hoeish could come off as slightly biphobic. Being bisexual myself I didn't initially go there, but I could see how those watching could so that's something to keep in mind. Going back to Pure and Folk as a pair though, it was hella cute and much needed for this show.
I also wanted to say I actually really liked how the side characters intertwined with the mains. They intervene sometimes in arguments or whatever and its super positive! It's also interesting that I thought Pure and Waan were meant to be the side couple at first because it was presented that way. But nope they are just friends and Waan gets a girlfriend! I liked that too, subverting expectations can really help a story feel fresh. There are things from this show that I loved, like really want to see in other shows! But it just couldn't get rid of all the other unnecessary tropes or unneeded plot. Which is a shame because this could've geared up to be (haha) one of the top shows of the year. I would say watch the second half once they're in college, skip the rest!

P'New needs some rest
P'New is going down at an impressive rate! From marvels like LBC1 or UWMA to this! There is nothing left of the beauty of the pictures in UWMA… Nothing of the beauty of all his previous characters… Nothing of his intelligence…The series is backward until episode 9 ; and I mean really backward, Lovesick backwards even. 9 episodes without any gay couple, plenty of straight ones, and the only two gay characters are awful jerks.
In the first part of the series Pai is in love with Itt. At least, it's what we are supposed to believe. But in episode 5, Pai let himself be kissed by a girl in front of Itt. This girl is the ex-girlfriend of Itt, and after trying to push Itt back into her, Pai is now letting the girl kiss him in order for her to agree to date Itt again…
In the 6th episode, the math teacher says to Pai that, as promised, Itt's club is going to be kicked out, and Pai just answered ครับ (OK)… Itt was eavesdropping. Needless to say that Itt's mother died in the 5th episode ; neither to add the inconsistent lie Pai and Itt just made in the previous scene (in 30 seconds time they spent the night in the classroom and just arrived early)… Is it possible to make a character more vile than Pai ? And a drama cheaper than this ?
In the second part of the series, it is Itt who is in love with Pai. He pushes him on the forefront, knowing Pai is very shy and uncomfortable in these situations… He does this because… well, because he wanted Pai to gain confidence!
Speaking about love, Pai's parents now come into play. They stumble upon their son's first kiss, and interrupt him, horrified ; then they decide to put him in another school, away from his boyfriend. But that wasn't because they are homophobes, no no, believe it or not, it was because they were worried that their son might not be strong enough to live his love in an homophobic society…
The nonsense will remain up to the very end, when Itt was hidden in Pai's parents house hoping for Pai to say that he didn't want to go to another school…
Well, as you see, P'New's filming is now backwards, uninspired and nonsensical : I would recommend a rest long enough so that he can find inspiration again, and the need to film as beautifully as he did in UWMA! I want my beloved P'New back, please…

I could watch Pure Folk for daayyyyyssss lolFiat his acting is so on point, his body language, the way he looks into Folks eyes - it just WORKS.
The acting in the show does get a bit overboard, overacting like the Mew Art story in WTD XD but honestly that didn't bother me then and it didn't bother me here. I can overlook these issues for a good plot and characterization.
But this one was just way too simplistic for me plot wise and even couple wise Pure Folk had waaaaay better kissing and just got me involved but the main couple were really lacking even though all the boys were really cute!
So, all in all not terrible but just okay.
And someone better be signing a petition somewhere for a Pure Folk spin off XD

12 episodes for this
First i want to said that i was very looking forward for this serieA casting interessing +a director that i love very much
But in this world not all is perfect and MGYG is clearly a big disappointment !!
The story is empty ! 12 episodes for what a serie who could have been make in less episode but better quality.
I really ask myself if it's the scriptwriter who was bad or the novel .
I will not encourgae people to see or not to see thinking that everybody need to make theirs own decision but for me once is enough ! Merci et Au revoir MGYG
But i really hope see the casting in other project because they have do their best with what the poor story they have been given to them !!

I was expecting so much but ended up disappointed
Okay let's start with the fact that BL Series had gain popularity and different ones pop up with almost always the same storyline and this was no exception. But there are some points I want to discussSTORY
Ok, since I've watched numerous BL Series and I have something to compare on, I would say that this is the typical cliche love story between two students who ended up in the Medical and Engineering faculty. The story started as Pai who is an introvert was saved by Itt and as the story progress, they became enemies to friends to enemies to friends. It is a roller coaster ride. I was a bit interested at the start but it got worse towards the end. Personally, I think Itt's action were incorrect even though his reasons were good. I was kinda hating him at the end and wanted them to not be together.
On the other hand, I personally liked how they got close tho HSHAHHAHA because I somehow relate to the tutoring thing and it brought back many memories of mine. I also liked the addition of STDs and providing information with these kinds of things to raise awareness which other series doesn't.
The parent issue of Pai could have been portrayed better if they have given it a few more episodes to elaborate more on the issue.
Folk and Pure's story could have started earlier. I was expecting more of them but it ended up being only on the few lasts episodes of the series. And a lot has been talking about how the flashback or highschool time of them had been way too long because the book shows more on their college life which is I agree with.
ACTING
The acting could also have some improvement but this is the first time I've seen Pawin and Marc act so I understand these. Others is just right, not good but not bad as well
All in all, I would say that this is an OKAY, not good but not that bad either. There are numerous flaws and a lot of things can be improved. I was a bit disappointed because I was expecting more and excited when I found out about this.

Good ideas at the base, poor execution
After watching the whole series, I feel mostly frustrated about the whole thing. The idea at the base was interesting enough for me to go and check it out for myself. This is clearly a slow burn, so unlike other people I wasn't annoyed at the pacing of the story at least for the first part, but rather at how it felt like all the actors were being dragged by the plot, rather than them making the plot live. Often times I really felt like I could see the writer pushing this or that character to say something, do something, or react in a certain way, not because it made sense, but rather because they wanted it to happen regardless.
The biggest offenders of this were Pai and Itt, which makes it kind of a big deal since they're the main characters. I was expecting their relationship to develop in something more fond at some point, but it just... didn't happen. Even when they referred to each other as friends, I couldn't stop feeling like I was watching two strangers acting nice to each other for no reason. They made me wish multiple times that Waan, Pure, or Folk were the main characters instead, since I found their acting way better in comparison, and that made their stories more interesting as a consequence. They're also the only reason why I gave this series such a high rating overall.
The first few episodes seemed pretty good to me, and I was immersed in the story up until the second part of the story, when the characters are university students. At that point the events in the story feel like something between pure fluffy fanservice or plot devices that were added to stir up some drama. Again, the lack of chemistry between the two leads didn't help making it any better: I was tempted to just skip their scenes and focus on Waan, Pure, Folk, and Beau instead.
In conclusion: in this drama you can find some sweet BL moments if that's all you're looking for, but I'd suggest you looking somewhere else if you're in search of a satisfying story.

Slow-paced story and decent acting, but cute and nice for a casual watch!
If you have high standards (great acting, cinematography, script, plot, etc.), this show is not for you. However, I would say that it's a decent show and worth a casual watch. It didn't feature the best acting, script, or plot in the world, but there were definitely some good things about the show that encouraged me to finish it. This says a lot about the show because I get bored really easily and drop shows all the time, but I finished this one because I wanted to see how things worked out and the couples get together. here are some of the pros and cons:
good things: *spoilers*
- each couple had a good amount of sweet and sad moments
- *some* of the actors did a really great job with their acting (JJ, Fiat, Neen)
- despite the plot being a "basic" storyline (rich, smart person with a poor, dumb person), i actually like cliché troupes. i think this drama did a decent job with this story
- the drama focused just as equally on the friendship between the main cast as much as their relationships, which i absolutely love
- it was pretty funny and i laughed a lot. the funniest moments came from the banter between the male characters because they would always tease each other. tbh, this made up for the bad parts of the show
- actually addressed some important issues for the lgbt+ community (HIV/AIDS, coming out), but it wasn't really done that well tbh
- an okay amount of character development. it could've 100% been done better, but it's okay. you can see the characters change for the better and come to realizations.
- i know this is a bl, but the story between waan and beau was really adorable. they were probably the couple i enjoyed watching the most because both of the actors did a great job. overall, although it took a long time for them to get together, they both seemed to genuinely like each other. their story was just really sweet.
bad things: *spoilers*
- spent an unnecessary amount of time in high school, it felt like they dragged it on for longer than it needed to be. i feel like they added the scenes of the boys in high school to establish the characters' personalities and friendships, but they spent SO MUCH TIME on it. there were less episodes where the boys were in university, which is most of the interesting/important things happened. it was just so slow-paced as well.
- *some* of the actors didn't do the best job in acting. it's not to say they were terrible, but some of them could use some more experience and acting lessons. this isn't entirely their fault, but that's something to watch out for.
- tbh, i enjoyed the love story between the main two characters, but they don't have much chemistry. there are some scenes where each of them steal glances and secretly look at each other adoringly, and they were really cute and made my heart feel warm. but overall, the main two don't have great chemistry or acting skills.
- the second couple (pure and folk) was okay. it's weird because fiat did a great job in his role, but aun has a long way to go. no disrespect! their relationship was also badly done, but that's the fault of the writers and producers, not the actors. i just felt like they tried to make Pure seem really genuine, but it didn't seem that way all the time. since they had such little time in university, i wish they didn't spend so much freaking time on Folk liking someone else and then Pure had to figure himself out too.
- the HIV/AIDS thing was very randomly put into the story. not that i thought it was a bad idea, but it felt really randomly placed.
overall, i think you could watch it if you're not that big on acting, cinematography, script, and plot. basically, if you're not that high maintenance like me, this will be good show to watch. i've watched some pretty bad quality, low-production, low-budget dramas, and this drama is definitely better than that. however, sometimes the not great plot development, good acting, and lack of chemistry between the couples can get annoying.

Imagine a collaboration of Gmmtv and Wetv produced a Wack show
First of all i never signed up for mydramatist, I just come on here to view review of shows, never written one even though I seen a lot of BL but this time I had to sign up so I can write a review cause I need to rant about how dissatisfied disappointed and mad I am right now because I just finished seeing this series.STORY
Gmmtv really needs to see other bl shows so they know just how behind they are, the unnecessarily long episodes isn’t working(no one does that no more) and you can’t be doing the same cliche of an engineering student and a medical student while one is smart and the other is dull and then the smart has to tutor the dullard and then they fall in love. As if that wasn’t annoying enough they still went ahead to use 7 freaking episodes just to tell us what happened in high school when that could have just been done with 2 or 3 episodes, then they wasted another 3 episodes, so they literally developed the main couple and side couples with the last 2 episodes(the show got a lil bit better then though and I would have given this a better rating if they didn’t waste my time with 10 unnecessary episodes) Go watch #itsay or #boyslockdown and see how BL are made nowadays.
ACTING
Thank Goodness for Fiat(pure) and JJ(Waat) they did very well, so cute fluffy and acted well.. I almost dropped the series but those two kept me going, even though I skipped most of it from the beginning to the end cause the couples have little or no chemistry, no intimacy, the kiss scenes don’t even get me excited, the last show that made me feel this way was “A chance to love” I dropped that though.
MUSIC/REWATCH
Overall I gave this show 4.0 because that’s what it deserves really.. Since I can’t help but skip most parts I didn’t notice the songs.. And there’s no way in hell I'm rewatching this.
