Gripping plot with a biting kind of romance
I wasn't supposed to watch this one because I already guessed it would be tragic based on the trailer. But, I got curious and binge-watched this last night and it was worth it! So here are some things I want to point out:- No, the drama didn't distort their history (I read up on Korean history for context). There was no glorification at all. In fact, it gives you the impression that authorities--whether they're from South or North--are just driven by their own ambitions and have no care for its people. In the end, ordinary people only got each other because those in power only see us as a tool for their gain.
- It would be a bit hard to understand at first. The drama requires the viewers to at least know what was happening in South Korea in 1987 to know how the tension and political unrest came about. The drama opened with protests so it helps to read up on the history leading up to that year to get the context.
- Think of CLOY but more gripping, intense, complex, and heartbreaking. It will keep you on the edge of your seat in every episode and frustrate you to no end.
- Jisoo and Hae In's chemistry is on another level despite this drama having little romantic moments between the two main characters. It helps that their characters have more complexities that make their love story more gripping and heartbreaking that all you could do is root for these two's happiness. There's just so much tension whenever these two are on the same frame.
- Speaking of Jisoo, I got to commend her acting. I'm a bit reluctant to watch idol-actors because most of them get to be the main leads without knowing how to act. It's not like jisoo's acting is stellar but even in her first lead role, she's definitely better than other idol actors who have been acting for years. She really makes use of her face to act out every emotion and is not afraid of looking ugly (although she's still pretty) in the process. Some idols are too determined to look pretty onscreen that their facial expressions don't change no matter what the situation is in the scene.
- I also got to commend the OST. It adds to the emotional pull of every scene.
To wrap it all up, there's a lot to unpack in this drama so I recommend watching this during your free time so you could think over what just happened in every twist and turn.

been waiting since Jisoo was announced for this role so a year than a half
The drama first piqued my interest when I saw that Kim Hye Yoon and Jisoo had been cast for the drama, I was supirsed because I did not know that Jisoo wanted to act, then I heard Jung hae in was in talks and when I tell you I got up out of my chair when I saw that, I have followed Jung hae in since I started watching kdramas, with One Spring Night being one of the first kdramas I watched and still one of my all time favourites. The cast is unbelievable Yoo In Na, Park Sung Woong, Jang seung Jo, Yoon Se Ah. All of these people's dramas I have watched before and so I knew I had to watch it with also my fav jung hae in playing the male lead. The drama itself has blown up, with everyone receiving more attention, of course with the controversies which I feel like are finally dying down tbh. The drama is excellent would 100 percent recommend for anyone, its strange to see such a kdrama as it is the first of its kind it gives me some money heist vibes and if you have watched the show you will know what I mean.Cet avis était-il utile?

Claustrophobic setting
I used to be an avid reader. If there was one thing I didn't like in books, it was a story confined to just a small town with limited characters. While this series had numerous characters, being in a hostage situation until ep 10 (still ongoing), makes me feel too constrained.I initially watched this because of Jung Hae In because I liked his character in Prison Playbook. But it seems he tends to lean towards certain types of projects; mostly slow burn romances and serious action thrillers?? (D.P for instance; I actually fell asleep watching One Spring Night and DP)
Jisoo on the other hand, was surprisingly good for a newcomer. You would not feel that this is her first drama.
The plot? Found it lacking..... But since I am already in ep 10, might as well see it through until the end.
UPDATE: DROPPED AT EP 13

Snowdrop Highly Recommended!!!
#snowdrop highly recommended!!!!If you are a kdrama fan that aware of the controversy of this drama that being falsely accused by the some characters and the false leaked synopsys, but now the air is clear and as the other news articles said that the court already approved it to be aired and the production also takes action to sue the false rumours that bring down snowdrop. So, no worries just sit back grab your favorite snack and enjoy while watching it….watch it first and tell it to yourself, I've watched it because I’m a fan of #JungHaeIn and I’m already watched episodes 1-7 and already can't move on from this show #snowdrop It's so addictive and intense too. Honestly, in my opinion, if you want to find a non-cliche kdrama that have a mysterious and action vibe this is definitely need to be on your kdrama-list. Go watch it!!
Keep fighting for the rating!
So happy that ratings increased after being in 1%-2% range since 2 weeks. Snowdrop fighting! Snowdrop is so exciting and in every episode is unpredictable. While watching you can’t hold your breath in every scene…With dark comedy too. As expected those who were fussing about it without watching it first were proven wrong. The story involves a fictional North and South thing like Crash Landing on You, The King 2 Hearts and many more dramas before. Never judge before watching a show!
Now lets all sit back and enjoy this star studded thoroughly enjoyable satire comedy romance action drama. Additionally, if you are a true KDrama fan as we know that most KDramas always makes us wonder about alternate or possible endings and we should prepare ourselves to endure the pain during the ending. #JungHaeIn #Snowdrop

Highly Recommended
If this drama continues to be this interesting until the end, I will definitely add it to my very short list of favorite kdramas of all time, which includes D.P., My Mister, Prison Playbook, Reply 1988 and Misaeng: Incomplete Life.So far, the story is very interesting and every episode leaves me hanging and wanting for more. All the actors are amazing. Blackpink Jisoo is doing a great job for a rookie actress. Tbh, I didn't expect much from her since this is her first lead role and only had cameos in her acting resume. But I did find her acting to be very natural. Jung Haein is phenomenal, as always! I can see why he was cast as Im Sooho: he has the duality of being charming and innocent-looking one moment, and then turning cold and ruthless the next. I love that he is getting roles that show his range and versatility. He is an actor who can convey a myriad of emotions through his eyes.
I'm aware of the controversy surrounding the drama but I hope people will give it a watch and then judge for yourselves if the allegations are true. So far, I didn't see any glorification of North Korea, the regime at the time and the ANSP. They're clearly the bad guys here.
I hope it doesn't get cancelled as it's a compelling drama. The story is very interesting, and with its many twists and turns, you really have no clue which way it will go. The production is top-tier. The cinematography is outstanding. The OST is beautiful. I highly recommend it!

Worth watching amidst the controversy
I think that while the set of the drama seems rather limited, I think that it was beautifully done up. I loved the aesthetics and the vibes of the setting and really liked the attention to detail. Each episode is brilliant in its own way and is also very exciting. I also think that the storyline is quite interesting, though I do understand that it is a distortion of history. I would like to make a disclaimer that I watched this drama solely as a fictional show.Aside from the plot, I love the OSTs. I don't mind that some of them are in English and I think that they are brilliantly written and produced to suit the waltz/slow dancing vibes. However, while I am quite fond of slow-paced dramas, I don't think I can sit through 16 episodes of this again. I hoped to see more of other scenes that depict what it was like in South Korea in the 1980s to 1990s, as I did in other dramas, such as the Reply series, Signal, etc. Overall, I still really enjoyed the drama.
My deepest condolences to the friends and family of Kim Mi-soo.
In summary:
What i liked - set, concept, cast, story, OSTs
What i disliked - limited set (they've been at the school for way too long)
Star of the show: I don't think there was anyone who stood out in particular. I think everyone did a great job.
Rating: 9/10
Watch if you like the aesthetics of the 1980s/early 1990s and Jung Hae-in (and possibly if you're into Stockholm Syndrome)

Right person, wrong timeline
Is the one sentence I'd use to describe this drama. As always, I've been one of the last people to jump onto the trend and hype of this show and I have managed to pick this 3 years after the initial release. I was rather intrigued by the plot as I'm a big fan of historical depictions of the 80s and 90s - it's the nostalgia factor that always pulls me in. This was perfectly translated with the soft colours, music and the overall vibe of this show so the set directors and producers absolutely nailed it. Now addressing the elephant in the room Jisoo - I really didn't expect her to nail this role but my god she better start doing acting full time. Her performance was so captivating and full of emotions. Her eyes were truly windows to her soul, and the way she used them to communicate is something I find actors really struggling to do even after years of acting. That leads us to the chemistry between the Soo Hoo and Young Ro, which was a very intimate watch in the way that they also use body language to communicate. Everything was so delicate and pure between the two and felt like I was peeking into their love a little bit. So their story can only be described as 'right person, wrong timeline' to be.
Well, this will take me a while to recover from. Hoping that the leads can reunite in a different life.

“I’m leaving but I will remember you forever. Young-ro, I love you.” – Lim Sooho
"Maybe in another world, another life, we were meant for a happy ending. But not here, to this time."The saddest part about life is when the person who gave you the best memories becomes a memory himself. I will always remember how it feels to fall in love at first sight and the desperation of their love thanks to Soo-ho & Yeong-ro. I've watched different kinds of Cdramas and Kdramas before, but this drama is the hardest to forget and the hardest to move on. This drama reminded me of Romeo & Juliet...so I decided to give a review about this drama.
The match stick tower, the paper plane, the photograph, the necklace, the coffee cup, and the tape are the things that won't have a second copy in the world. These are the memories of Soo-ho and Yeong-ro.
Their unconditional and sacrificial love for one another was the most captivating theme of the drama for me. Their unselfish display of love for one another was what made this tragic beautiful love story such a heart-wrenching masterpiece beyond comparison.
Soo-ho thanked Yeong-ro during the tape scene confession for making the flowers bloom for a cold person like him. She was the snowdrop throughout the drama. She was the one who showed him love, hope, and a reason to die for. He protected her with his body until his last breath, protecting that flower to make sure it was safe. We knew they were never going to have a happy ending that many of us hoped (including myself). This drama was more of their journey and the hope they found with each other in a rough situation and time.
I don't know how many times I've listened to 'WISHES' OST of this drama because I ❤️ it SO MUCH! Every time I listen to this song, it will always remind me of this drama.

emotional Rollercoaster
I just finished watching 'Snopdrop' and I'm still reeling from the emotional rollercoaster that it took me on. This drama is not just a romantic comedy, it's so much more. It's a thoughtful exploration of mental health, trauma, and the human condition. The cast, led by Park Seo-joon and Kim Tae-hee, deliver outstanding performances that will make you laugh and cry. Park Seo-joon shines as the lovable but troubled protagonist, bringing depth and nuance to a character that could have easily been one-dimensional. Kim Tae-hee is equally impressive, bringing warmth and vulnerability to her role.
The supporting cast is just as excellent, with standout performances from the actors who play the protagonist's friends and family. The writing is superb, with characters that feel like real people and relationships that are authentic and relatable.
What I loved most about 'Snopdrop' is how it tackles tough topics with sensitivity and nuance. It's not afraid to show the messiness and complexity of life, but also offers hope and healing. The drama tackles issues like depression, anxiety, and PTSD with care and compassion, and offers a realistic portrayal of the struggles that people with these conditions face.
The cinematography is stunning, capturing the beauty of Seoul and the emotional landscapes of the characters. The camera work is innovative and creative, using techniques like animation and stop-motion to bring the protagonist's inner world to life.
The OST is also amazing, with songs that perfectly capture the mood and tone of each episode. The music is catchy and memorable, and adds another layer of emotional depth to the drama.
Overall, 'Snopdrop' is a must-watch for anyone who loves K-dramas or just great storytelling in general. It's a drama that will stay with you long after it ends, and one that I'll cherish for a long time. If you're looking for a thoughtful, emotional, and ultimately uplifting drama, look no further than 'Snopdrop'.
