Couple of Mirrors (2021)

Both are set in a similar time period. Both have a lesbian relationship in them although in Couple of Mirrors it has been censored, but a lot of their relationship still remains. Both have a strong female lead that goes against tradition.

Just here to spread GL story as much as possible; the only why we have to keep getting GL story is watch the dramas we already have!! This is a Chinese drama so the romance will be censored but I'm sure we will still get a lovely relationship between these two. Also it's historical (one point extra for me) and also the plot looks really intresting!

You Yi and Yan Wei dynamic just reminds me of Dao and Koi though two dramas set in different times. These are the same since Dao is also a writer and Koi also protects Dao.

Both are Republican Eras dramas (Couple of Mirrors' is set in the 1930s and 'The Message' is set in 1941) that feature two female leads with excellent chemistry.

In these 2 chinese republican-era set productions, one of the female leads is an incredibly toxic marriage. The other female lead supports her as she does anything she can to get out of it and when society tries to turn against her for leaving.

“Legend of Yunze” is a Chinese censored GL (but with a lot of chemistry and glances and mini touches lol) wuxia series whereas “Couple of Mirrors” is a Chinese censored GL romance too! :)

Both dramas have strong female characters and ahead of their time. Ae shin is a combination of You yi and Yan Wei's traits because, she's a noble lady by day and a freedom fighter by night.

Both women are saving each other against the people around them and they trust one another. It also shows the social class differences of these women but despite of this they learn to love one another.
