This is the recent re-make of the same movie. It's starring Eita, Ebizô Ichikawa and Hikari Mitsushima. It was presented in the last Cannes Festival and was originally filmed in 3D (for real, artistical reasons, not as a commercial toy). It was released internationally so even in my hometown I could go in a theater and watch it. It's beautiful, i recommend it.
Both film story complete different But,
Both Show poverty of ronin and also mistreated, injustice happen to them
Matabe, a ronin unsuccessfully seeks employment from the samurai Mori, whom his father once served.
Elder ronin samurai arrives at a feudal lord's home and requests an honorable place to commit suicide.
