The Penthouse (2020)

The Penthouse: War in Life is really mysterious like the drama Law School. Just like this drama there is murder not 1 but a few. The plot twists are amazing as well. The dark vibe you get from this will really shake you up. The actors and actresses do an outstanding job with their characters. I was amazed. Definitely recommend it!!!

So..
It may seem well off but Penthouse strikes to be the much more modern and adapted version of Boys Over Flowers. I believe they follow the same basic plan of a drama and develop into different plots. In both series, a lot happens in every episode. The plot of Penthouse is more thought out and the quality of the drama is top. I rate both these dramas very highly, Boys Over Flowers is more of a comfortable vibe.

But one thing, The Penthouse is crazier!

the storylines of both drama are quite different but similar at the same time. Both are about the rich & privileged people who used their privilege and power to step on other people. The characters in both dramas hide murder and their crimes together to save their elite status, also Bong Tae Kyu and Yoon Jung hoon are in both dramas as friends, accomplices or partners in crime. Even characters of Bong Tae Gyu(Lee Kyu Jin) in both dramas are similar(childish & stupid). Anyway both dramas has the same feeling and ambiance.

Fun Fact: As first Shin Sung Rok(ML in Return)was to play the main character of Joo Dan Tae which is later replaced by Um Ki Joon due to schedule conflicts.

Both these dramas are gripping thriller that will keep you on edge.
Makjang, murder, mystery, friendships, a lot of drama and bitterness are to be expected.

Both female leads lose somebody close to them.
Both female lead plan out revenge or getting back at the person/people who wronged them.

There are rich male leads that help the female leads in both dramas.
Both give out the same vibe, about rich people who would do anything for themselves and their greed.

Both dramas deal about girls that are getting bullied and have something happen to them because of this. In both dramas family members take revenge and things become very fast very extreme.

*If you weren't reading the synopsis like I was when LHiMG started, you would need to use your brain to put together the context. The same goes for The Penthouse.
*Wealthy and poor main characters are included in both dramas.
*An unpleasant setting.

This one is more focused on the school story as it about the characters unveiling the death of their class mate. The atmosphere is very similar and there are a lot of plot twists in both shows
