Atami no Sousakan (2010)

Not only does it have the lead, Odagiri Joe, but I found the comedy to be very similar, despite how different the story is and the subject discussed.

They are both directed by Miki Satoshi and have the same surreal sense of humour.

Similarities: The main actress, the lame jokes, the nudity and of the comedy police-investigation genre.
Differences: Ataru is one-case one-episode drama while Atami no Sousakan is one case throughout the whole drama.

Both has a pair leads (whom one of them serves as "assistant"), quirky details, strange back sounds and similar dark comedy mystery vibe. Both shows are also made by the same production crews and Henshin Interviewer features a number of Atami's actors and actresses making appearances in the show
