A True Love Story Never Ends
OOL told the love story between Gu Wei and Lin Zhixiao. At first glance ,it is nothing special. but as the story progress you are drawn into the lives of two people each with their own contrasting personalities and families. The story really makes you believe that Lin Zhixiao and Gu Wei were meant for each other and will continue to be together despite any obstacles. The initial episodes were a bit slow but the story picks up after the first 4 episodes. I actually read the novel but despite the changes in the drama, I felt it stayed quite true to the essence of the novel. That is it emphasized the themes of love and family as shown in the novel. The drama also didn't revolve too much around misunderstandings. Our lead couple quickly resolved their misunderstandings which is something I really appreciated. I also loved the addition of the little theatres. It was a really creative touch. The aspects about Mr Lin's illness was also well handled, I cried so much at the last two episodes. The drama showed how important it is to cherish your loved ones and also showed how the circle of life goes on.Yang Zi really played Lin Zhixiao so well, her acting was on point always. And I laughed so much at the comedic scenes. Xiao Zhan playing Gu Wei portrayed Gu Wei 's inner thoughts and mannerisms so well, in fact he seemed just like the Gu Wei from the novel.
Ending the review here by saying, the oath of love is the perfect drama to watch after a tiring day.

Searching for a realistic drama? Just Go For It!
First of all, as we all know that this is a highly anticipated drama and it definitely didn't disappoint us.It starts like any other normal drama, but the fact that all the actors pulled off their characters so well that it keeps the viewer immersed in the drama, we can feel each and every emotion they are trying to show. It is not cringy nor filled with those over- exaggerated romances everything just feels so real and relatable. No perfect characters! They all make mistakes and learn from them and most importantly teach us the real value of a family.
The only reason I feel that it could get better is that the support roles/couples could get a little more screen time with a better ending. All in all, I really liked the drama.

Cuteness and a Good Time Watch
I waited a long time to watch The Oath of Love. When it finally came out it was clear it was about Dr. Gu discovering a woman he cannot ignore, who is utterly different from him and is a bit callous at times, but one he cannot ignore. Their relationship is about a growing connection. Their fights are quite real and commonplace, I loved them because they were so rooted in a slice-of-life setting. Does he like me or the cute doctor who he works with daily? Would he even look at me? or Why won't he tell me what's going on with him? I think that if you look at this story from this perspective, it is very endearing and I loved their journey. There were moments that dragged a bit, and the second couple had serious issues which needed more time, but, The Oath of Love is full of cuteness and how an unlikely couple can come together. I enjoyed every episode.Cet avis était-il utile?

Sweet, fluffy watch
I don’t think I stopped crying for the last 2 eps. OoL is a great watch. So many sweet moments. Gu Wei is peak boyfriend material (except for that little snafu towards the latter half). Zhixiao, although young, is an outspoken and talented woman.
Her friends decision making skills were questionable at times. I did not appreciate either of their relationships towards the end either. In one case, she was too good for him, and in the other, I thought he was too good for her- don’t @ me!
Overall, sweet, fluffy and lots of waterworks

What a great drama that makes you feel good ! But ready for some tissues, too.
Unlike typical C-drama, it is a straight forward story, not many jealousy, bullying and confusion. It’s a romance between 10 yrs age gap adult and young college kid. They seems to be so different in personality, social status and etc, but they are actually made in heaven.FL is somehow childish time to time, because she is still in college. ML is a prominent doctor yet he doesn’t have much experiences in love life and his life is pretty much controlled by his parents as good son. So it seems they miss certain personality in themselves but once he met FL who is so free and cherish personality, he discovered LOVE.. They go thru typical breakup and getting back together. It was pretty realistic that made the story more deeper. Some negative comments noted how immature both are but I disagree. Everyone has weakness. We could see that thru this couples. However they found themselves to cover each other what they luck.
And family love, especially FL’s parent and her father played so well in the drama. And their friends and co-workers did great job bringing the story more interesting. And OST, what a great song.
Wonderful drama !

Definitely Worth the Wait!
It is simply one of the best Chinese drama I've watched! The acting, story, the OST, scenes and just watching it blew me away. I cried ugly and happy tears all thru the entire series. I always have this hate relationship with Cancer, as my brother passed away battling that dreaded disease. And I love how they tackle it in this series.I love the main couple: Dr. Gu Wei and Lin Zhi Xiao. I eill miss them. I enjoy watching the extras/bonus scenes at the end of each episode. I love Ms Li and Mr Lin, and Zhi Xiao and Mr. Lin's relationship.
I appreciated the character growth of Zhi Xiao, from being an immature daughter, having a fight with his father all the time, to being a responsible and mature person.
The OST is superb! I will never get tired listening to it.
I just don't like Zhi Xiao's BFF: Shan-shan. I know she means well, but most of the time, for me she is being over bearing and just too much.
Over all, I'm glad, I watched this series, and it's definitely worth the wait. I will definitely rewatch it again.

Light and pleasant drama!
I would like to begin by saying that I am a huge fan of Xiao Zhan! I just love the guy! So it's obvious that I'd watch any drama of his even if I had to wait for more than a year or two!Although a cliché, the storyline is quite simple and entertaining. Nothing huge or unexpected happens throughout the drama and it's a great drama if you are in the mood for something light hearted. It's not everyday that I come across a drama with good music. I loved the opening duet which was sung by ours truly, Xiao Zhan and Yang Zi... Their voices complement each other really well and so do they. The chemistry between them is really sweet even if one of them is a mature man and the other just a college student. Both the leads do have certain moments of immaturity and impulsiveness but the drama is all about how they overcome their shortcomings.
I'm not saying it's a great drama. But I can say that one will have a pleasant time watching this one (I'd have a pleasant time just looking at Xiao Zhan's face and smile, hehe).
Do give it a try! I really think that you might like this one!

EXCELLENT LOVE CHEMISTRY BETWEEN THE MAIN LEADS
I love the chemistry between xiao zhan and yang zi for years i loved how they always work together and make a successful drama. I love how xiao zhan can change his hold appearance just for a drama. I have watch alot of medical dramas in the past and did not like them beacuse either the doctors white costs were unbutton and (if you know in china when you are working in hospitals you are not supposed to have your white cost unbutton) so i always had a problem eith medical drama but i decided to watch this drama beacuse i headd xiao zhan and yangzi were acting in it. Things i loved about this drama and things what i did not like. Things it loved about it. 1. Loved how xiao zhan always finds a way to make his partner happy. 2. They actually look like real doctors i mean like they went through surgeries and stuff like that. 3. Gu wei is a guy who likes to keep his feeling inside and not tell no one a something about Gu Wei i loved that. 4. When i watched the first episode i thought this drama would have been a cold main lead and stuff like that but Gu Wei is only a little bit cold and when you get to know him he is very friendly, kindhearted and very neat. 5. I LOVED how he is very neat and organized i love that in a man. 5. I laughed so much when Yang Zi ( i do not know how to spell his role name) walked in the house with her slippers on and when she left he clean it so much hahahaha. 6. When i saw how neat and organized Gu Wei was it made me think if The Fox's summer. Things i did not likd about it. 1. I always never liked when they is a misunderstanding that does always piss me off. I think that all for the things i do not like about this drama. Overall drama look like a high budgeting drama.Cet avis était-il utile?

Sweet realistic romance
The story is indeed slow burn, and I admit there were moments when I felt slightly bored, but I still think the actors were excellent, both Yang Zi and Xiao Zhan and the supporting cast of younger and older actors. Special mention to the nice little boy who played the role of Cupid in the hospital ward.I was not drawn in immediately, found the bar scene a bit hysterical and Yang Zi despite her dimples looked too old at first (she is 29) to play the role of a supposed 23 year old behaving like a rash and rebellious adolescent in the first episodes. But turning out to be a rather repressed girl afraid of going all the way with her partner despite being able to enter his apartment almost at all times and getting a sterling occasion when she could share a room for a weekend. She was hiding their relationship from the terminally ill father and the mother who might also be opposed to her dating a doctor with a big age difference.
Xiao Zhan was quite well cast here, as the serious and attentive bachelor doctor wrapped up in his profession, who still had not found a love interest before his attraction to the ebullient girl. His talks with her were very reasonable, and the chemistry was rather natural, although I am not fond of lengthy deep inscrutable stares, to express his character's difficulty when he was in a quandary because of nasty news or events. Nor did I like the plot device of having him suffer from a psychological trauma because of a previously unsuccessful operation.
It got better on the way. The story is very simple. It carried some lessons about interpersonal relations, touched on the present world dangers to some professionals when they get in the cross hairs of social media rumors and disputes.
The ending was very satisfactory, romance wise.
I don't know if the difference between the TV version (which was unavailable to me) and the other version (DVD or international online 29 episode release) is only a question of cutting to size for ads or if there was more in the 32 episode TV version. I found the 29 episode version sufficient to my taste, but I don't think I will go back to rewatch it soon.
I am not that fond of the OST songs either: one makes me feel like it is a sort of lullaby, too sugary for me. But the whole story being steeped in honey brew, I cannot be too critical there. It is a "nice" story, very clean, very respectful of current social rules, and it deals with problems that anybody can expect (age, illness, protecting one's reputation) and hopes that everyone may have (the oath of love in the end is very sweet). It certainly is worth watching once at least.

Fell for Xiao Zhan
Okay, I just finished the drama, so the feelings are so fresh. First thing first, it is the first time I've watched a drama of Xiao Zhen, and i have to say, I couldn't help but fall for him. He is a great actor. I've seen Yang Zi in GGS and AoL and I like her.The story was unique and really satisfying to watch. The emotional scenes were brilliantly done. And ohh...the OSTs ; they were just so beautiful.
I cried and I laughed with the leads. The supporting characters and the other two couples were great too, but i really felt bad for San San when when Gu Xiao left without any word. The breakup between the leads was so intense and I really liked how Zhi Xiao gave Gu Wei a piece of her mind. Even if she was not a badass, she was strong, passionate and her love for music really inspired me. The family scenes were so well done.
One of the most beautiful dramas I've ever watched. From story to OST, from cinematography to acting, everything was great. And those ' Little Theatre ' moments at the end of the episodes were pretty adorable to watch.
ps : if you're searching for a show with great chemistry between the leads and brilliantly done emotional/serious scenes, this is for you.
ps2 : special shoutout to Qiu Qiu, our little Cupid

Awesome drama! I keep rewatching the funny parts?
I love this drama! Watching it air everyday was really lifting me up everyday and making me look forward to something in my day.I came across this drama one day, when I was desperately looking for anything to watch. Their header photo actually looked pretty neat and I knew these 2 actors when I saw their faces. Immediately, I got sucked into this drama and found out that the characters are actually very relatable which makes it 10 times better! I understand cello and about orchestra (the girl lead plays cello) and one of my family members work in the health care setting (just like the main boy lead, as he is a gastrointestinal doctor).
To be honest, their lives seemed so different plus the age different really made it hard to believe that their was actually romance between these two. I've watched many love dramas and maybe I just come across these more but, it seems as if all dramas have boy main leads that act super innocent and super cold towards the girl lead. Yes, this does apply in maybe the first few episodes but he really starts acting himself around her.
There are so many episodes I keep rewatching that are really funny, I can add a few here but you're gonna have to watch the whole thing to understand what is going on.
