The Sweet Love Story (2020)

???? so far so good, the story is so cute at the same time heart fluttering, with great and adorable leads and their chemistry, as expected from the author-based from her other works (A love so beautiful and Put Your Head on my shoulder), I like the character of the Zhou Xiao..so carefree and is so cute, while Zhao Fan Zhou is so adorable at the same time very straightforward and really speaks his mind about his feelings towards the Zhou Xiao although, gonna expect a heartbreaking moments on later episodes, still looking forward for a satisfying storyline..as expected from chinese dramas, they are really good at putting good actors together with great chemistry...:) ???

When I tell you there's nothing interesting about this drama, I mean it.

I started watching The Love Equations because I remembered all the good comments about it. The first few episodes were nice and I was excited for a cute drama. Now I understand they were probably because this drama it's probably how they discovered Gong Jun.

Luckily, I have seen him in Begin Again -a drama from the same year as this one- and other more recent projects, which is why I can say he delivers a good performance, perhaps the strongest in the entire drama, but the story is no good and the chemistry is simply not there.

The story overall is filled with scenes and plotlines poorly developed, particularly when we are dealing with subjects such as mental health. I understand this is a character driven drama but when I tell you there's nothing interesting about it, I mean it.

Bom para um C-drama

Tenho dificuldade de acompanhar c-dramas porque os acho extremamente repetitivos e não gosto da forma como eles retratam as mulheres. Por isso comecei esse drama com zero de expectativa. No entanto, ele me surpreendeu e me prendeu no início pelo simples fato da protagonista feminina ser uma pessoa interessante: ter seus próprios sonhos e objetivos e não viver apenas pensando em romance. Em outras palavras, uma jovem normal.

O início da história acontece de forma suave e é bem divertido. O protagonista masculino é bem fofo e honesto, e até os coadjuvantes têm histórias legais! Consegui acreditar no romance e torcer pelo casal, coisa que nunca aconteceu antes pra mim em um drama chinês. Por isso, desenvolvi boas expectativas para o desenrolar da história. Infelizmente do meio pro final, a coisa desanda. Vira um embolado de clichês e a história simplesmente não sustenta a carga dramática que criou de repente. Eu até poderia ignorar o enchimento de linguiça, mas chega a um ponto que a coisa se perde de tal forma que me perguntei porque eu estava assistindo aquilo. Apenas terminei de ver porque desenvolvi carinho pelos personagens lá no início.

Bom, para finalizar, o resultado é um drama mediano. Tinha tudo para voar, mas escolheu um caminho confortável e fácil, zero original.

This show had all the elements of a college romance, including the dorm scenes, a diverse group of fun friends, a stoic ML and a bubbly FL. I feel a little bit old for the antics but it would be perfect for someone who wants a college love story. This reminds me of 'All I want for Love is you' and 'A love so beautiful'. It's by the same producers as 'Put Your Head on my Shoulder' and though I like PYHOMS a lot more than this, there's a high probability that you would enjoy this if you like PYHOMS.

The love story itself is done well, the chemistry is nice and they did a good job of portraying this pair. I'm not a fan of Simon's acting as he seems a little stiff and wooden to me. Lin Yi as Gu Wei Yi did a better job of portraying the introverted silent ML in PYHOMS. Li Ren Yu was great in her role and was definitely the show-stealer.

The plot is nice without any crazy dramatic events or useless misunderstandings. There's enough cute moments and they have a good, rounded life.

I'd recommend this show if college fluff is something you're looking for :)

EQUAÇÕES DO AMOR NÃO É PUT YOUR HEAD ON MY SHOULDER!!

Acredito que o maior erro das pessoas ao verem esse drama, é ir com a expectativa de ser quase um spin off de put your head on my shoulder. Não é. Esse drama é maravilhoso do seu próprio jeito, um clichê adorável, com personagens incríveis! Que atuação maravilhosa, cenas fofas, tudo de bom.
O que eu mais li, são criticas quanto ao termino do Zhao Fanzhou e da Zhou Xiao. Gente, vocês viram o mesmo drama que eu? Ele terminou com ela pensando na felicidade dela. Pensando que ela deveria continuar sendo leve, e não querendo tirar isso dela. O ano que se passou deveria ter mais detalhes? Sim. A volta deles deveria ter sido mais elaborada? Talvez. Mas a mãe do Zhao Fanzhou tentando ajudar eles foi tudooo!
Além do casal principal, eu amei o casal secundário. Achei tão lindo o jeito que o Xie tenta de tudo pela Zhu Lu! A amizade das personagens também é maravilhosa, e não vou nem dizer nada do Cai Yasi! Ele pensou na amiga dele o tempo inteiro, e não foi egoísta. Se ela não que, manda pra mim!
Foi isso, recomendo demais esse drama!



I believe that the biggest mistake of people when they see this drama, is to go with the expectation of being almost a spin off of put your head on my shoulder. It is not. This drama is wonderful in its own way, an adorable romance, with amazing characters! What a wonderful performance, cute scenes, and a lot more.
What I read the most are criticisms regarding the ending of Zhao Fanzhou and Zhou Xiao. Guys, have you seen the same drama as me? He broke up with her thinking about her happiness. Thinking that she should remain happy, and not wanting to take that away from her. Should the past year have more details? Yes. Should their return have been more elaborate? Perhaps. But Zhao Fanzhou's mother trying to help them was soooo cute!
Besides the main couple, I loved the secondary couple. I found the way Xie tries everything for Zhu Lu so beautiful! The friendship of the characters is also wonderful, and I won't even say anything about Cai Yasi! He thought about his friend Zhou Xiao the whole time, and he wasn't selfish at all. If she doesn't want him, send it to me!
That was it, I highly recommend this drama! (sorry about the english, i'm from Brasil!)

I was intrigued because of Simon Gong,, I've seen bits of Flavor, Its Yours but that drama really sucked - no offense. I just thought he looked really good there. So yes I went in because of his looks lol.
The FL is better than most Chinese dramas and that's what kept me goin'. I liked her and the ML too. The first few episodes weren't too bad but the story started to drag until they genuinely got together. And then it was kinda cute. The way he would be honest with her and look at her yada yada,, yes very cute. But then it started to drag again and I couldn't stand it anymore. The plot started to go all over the place and nothing could continue to pull me in. I used to like her friends but they started to get boring too.
The side couple is even worse. Kept skipping their scenes mostly cause of that arrogant dude. They try to add a comical element using him but it didn't work for me. He was the most annoying character probably.

Favorite part: FL's character. She seemed real to me. And her group of friends are nice haha. I also LOVE Cai Ya Si (second lead) - he's a nice friend and I had heart eyes for him the whole time.
Least favorite part: Yi Xing's character. The plot dragging with too many episodes anyways.
