Ranma 1/2 (2011)

As Ranma 1/2 manga fan, I had fun seeing my favorite characters brought to live in this TV movie, but apart from that, there is nothing special from this show. The special effect was tooo fake and the story wasn't special either. Acting wise, Kaku Kento lack male Ranma's charm, but Natsune did a pretty decent job portraying female Ranma. Nishiyama Maki perhaps the best actress/actor in this show. Good job in portraying Nabiki.

Whether you are Ranma fan or not, just don't expect anything spectacular from this, and you might enjoy it :)
(If you are a fan of the manga/anime, prepare not to see many of familiar characters, including Ranma's main rival: Ryoga (& ofcourse P-chan))

I wouldn't say I was disappointed because I was prepared for it but when I find this ( http://www.ludomedia.it/upload/img/14/7/14/2093_4240_53c3d71932d7a3.35272149.jpg ) I... I just... well... I don't know.
It did have some good moments but it was like a roller-coaster going up and down.

The story was sometimes like the manga and sometimes was just non-sense full of plot holes

The characters were sometimes good and sometimes not, the same thing goes for the acting.

The music was really nothing special, but wasn't bad at all.

And HELL NO I wouldn't re-watch it. Once was more than enough.

Although I'm a Takahashi Rumiko fan, I've only ever read the first volume of the original manga and only really watched a few random episodes of the anime. From what I could tell, this special stuck pretty close to these as far as a two-hour special possibly could. Yes, it would of been nice to have some more sophisticated effects (like, maybe a CG panda instead of a panda suit) but really...it felt like watching a manga to me so I guess that means success in this case! The cast is pretty awesome (mostly familiar faces) and I felt it was enjoyable overall (if not somewhat eye-roll inducing). You just have to go with it. If you are a BIG fan of the original you probably will hate it (isn't that usually the case?) but casual fans and newbies alike will probably find something to like.
