Ok, so this drama hasn't even finished airing yet, but I feel like if I don't write a review now I'll just forget to do it later, so here is my opinion on 'Sweet Revenge 2'. c:

Story/Plot:
The storyline of this drama is incredibly similar to the prequel (Sweet Revenge) and is all about a girl (Oh Ji Na) who is given a magical app on her phone which gives her the opportunity to seek revenge on whoever she wishes. When my friend told me about this, I generally thought this would be some basic-ass show with a way-too-fluffy plot, however, after watching most of it, my opinion from when I first heard about it has changed. Yes, it is a light, warm-feeling kind of show that is there to make you go 'aww', but there are some elements of serious issues mixed alongside some cute humour, you could say? Obviously I'm not saying it's, like, THE MOST MEANINGFUL THING YOU'LL WATCH, but it does include problems such as bullying, fake identity, plastic surgery etc. which I think blended really well with the drama.
Overall, I give the story 7/10.

Acting/Cast:
OMG the casting in this was one of my favorites, as you have a handful of aspiring actors (who mainly range from 13-16) that were casted for this drama, and did such a good job! I mean, obviously, it isn't going to be perfect, as I did notice scenes here and there where the characters weren't connecting with eachother as well as they could of done, but if you were 14 and had to act romantic and shit, it must be really awkward... But every actor in this show I feel tried they're best so, props to them (especially Samuel omg you are tHe bEsT)
Overall, I give the acting 7.5/10

Music:
There's not much to say about the soundtracks - there was dramatic music when there was a dramatic scene, there was sad music when there was a sad event, and that's really it. The music wasn't bad, but it was nothing too memorable.
Overall, I give the music 5/10

Rewatch Value:
I feel like I would probably watch this again when I'm bored and have nothing to watch, or if I was hanging out with friends, as I think it's a light-hearted series to watch with others if other dramas are getting too heavy for you (*cough cough* Scarlet Heart)
Overall, I give the rewatch value 7.5/10

This series is a cute little package with romance, fantasy and friendships. If you're looking for something heavy, DO NOT WATCH THIS. However, if you're looking for a small break, this is the show for you ;)))
Overall rating: 7.5/10
Enjoy watching!

P.S This is my first review, so I hope it was good enough lmao c:

All hail Samuel!!! I watched the first season and liked it and binged the 2nd and liked it even more. Truly not a terrible show, easy to watch and it was fast; not much context or story building or development but you still got the experience of the show. I liked the real life take of their everyday lives and how they handled things but I also liked the fantasy twist of it; I liked the younger characters because honestly they were extremely developed for their age and this drama of show. Truly, the main characters and story lines were definitely nice and awesome, easy to keep up with, just a fun watch all in all. The music isn't terrible, it's probably worth rewatching when you're bored, it's just a nice filler show for the time being.

So, I watched this drama without even watching the first season... a tribute on youtube just made me curious haha
It's not a masterpiece that will keep you glued to the screen but it's not supposed to be one either.
This drama pictures high school students as they encounter daily life problems, with a little bit of mystery added by the "revenge note". We don't really get a satisfying answer to that... however, it didn't really bother me. As I said that's not the main point.

Characters:
I liked almost everyone in the story but the bromance between the two brothers attracted me the most. I wished for more scenes but I'm quite happy with what we got. Seeing them live together, eating together and having their fights... I'm a total bromance fan... oh dear
The love story was cute and it depicted that puppy love we all wished we had in high school.

It's a feel-good story you can watch when you don't know what else to watch at the moment. I definitely recommend it though.
Enjoy the watch! Stay safe, stay healthy!

AS FOR THE ENDING (don't read if you don't like)

---> I was FINE with it. I mean it was realistic. These kids were in love (they still are) but they are only seventeen. I was glad it didn't turn into one of those dramas where the boy leaves his family and those he cares about behind for a girl he just recently met. He decided to repay his mother's kindness and go with her and the rest of his family to the States to finish his studies. I liked that. They are still in love and they will get through this. Nowadays the world has become a lot smaller than it was before.
Sorry about this part but I felt strangely glad about this ending, maybe because I hate seeing families break apart when the kids are still so young.

Not terrible. Not good. Just okay.

Coming into season 2 after watching season 1… It’s a good think I had no expectations. Perhaps because the cast is completely different. But just imagine my dissatisfaction if I had big hopes?

The acting is here and there. Sometimes it’s pure cringe. Sometimes it's tolerable. However, nothing felt natural or flow smooth.

There wasn’t much chemistry or connection I felt from either character. I really didn’t care about them at all.

I mean… If the characters themselves are unable to form deep bonds with each other, how should I, a viewer, connect with them?

A definitely good school drama to binge-watch and reminisce school days

This is a different story from it's sequel so you can watch this without watching the first one. However, for those like me who's really curious who is the 'master' there were decent clues that still connects this second series to the first one. I'll share my conclusions and predictions regarding the "master" on the second part of my review.

Okay, so what can I say about Revenge Note 2? The pattern of revenge is the same but since this 2nd series has longer air time, the story got better since the characters were explored more in depth than the first one. Although, I can say that the first few episodes actually felt slow and also repetitive since the first one already addressed like the school bullying. But then I guess it's just a way to introduce the characters since the settings are mainly at school. The plot is pretty predictable but I still enjoy it anyway. The execution of the story gives nostalgic memories of high school days.

As for the cast, sadly Cha EunWoo is not on this series but thankfully Samuel is here to save the day. (Half joke, half reality) I loved that the main character had more circle of friends and more people around them that allows more exploration that is relatable. Everyone did their part and made their characters come to life well aside from Geum SooJi. (I am damn confused whether it's the character or the actress that messed it up but I don't know what is the goal of her existence. She felt more of like a good student than a bully. But anyway it might just be me.) Another cast that I really loved to see is Ho GooJoon. It gave me that slightest hope that maybe the first and second story will somehow merge into one big picture. (Although, it didn't. I'm still hoping. I know now why a lot of people demands Season 3.)

Overall, I really enjoyed watching this and I had a good laugh once in a while throughout the series that I really think was funny.

------
For those curious about the "master" I formulated a conclusion based on the hints I've gathered while watching the show. Although, DISCLAIMER: I am not saying that my conclusion is correct. There's no clear proof as well that what I'm thinking is right. I just wanna share this and hopefully know other people's conclusions as well.

On Revenge Note 1, I've concluded it was Ho GooJoon who had created the app for his younger sister. Seeing him in Season 2, make it feel like he really has something to do with it somehow. In this Season 2, there was this scene where Teacher Maeng and Ho GooJoon went to the programming club room of some sort where a flashback of an old member making an app/program of some sort that will help people like 'him' nothing is further specified but that person died and Teacher Maeng promised to continue what he hasn't finished. The app might have been created by several people and not just one person alone. It's most likely that Robin is also involved in creating the app or at least know something about it. Someone is invited to be there and he happened to be not around with his friends to eat lunch. There were also some hint that GooJoon knows Robin. Robin used the same technique as GooJoon in finding clues on a picture (which is via reflection of objects caught on a picture). On one of Robin's artwork on the rooftop, there's also a drawing of lightning which is oddly similar to the app's logo. This theory however go against other people's theory that JaeYi is involved in making the app. For me, JaeYi is just really a genius who knows a lot of things about programming and fixing gadgets.

Some people might ask how the revenge is executed but from what I understand, the app is really working mysteriously like magic. Because almost all of the revenge happens in unnatural way like how they suddenly trip or got soak wet in the water which is completely uncontrollable. They just suddenly become unlucky of some sort.

For any other theories you might have, you can comment it down so that I can read it. :)

Good Enough

" Sweet Revenge Season Two " was not as good as the first season, but it was okay.

The story was pretty much the same as the one in the first season, with an app with which the main character could take revenge on those who pretty much harmed her or her family and friends. The start was really good and strong, with an intense case for revenge and a smooth love triangle. The family drama was also sweet and warm. However, the rest of the revenge cases weren't as strong and were kind of boring. The friendship and family storylines were okay, but not enough to keep everything smooth and interesting till the very ending. The love triangle got boring as well. The actual love story was, in fact, predictable and kind of tiring too. Also, as it happened in the first season, there wasn't a clear explanation as to who was behind the revenge app.

However, there were some nice moments to it. First of all, some acts of revenge were satisfying and well deserved. The performances were good too, especially from the young actors and actresses.

So, overall, five out of ten.

Mysterious Game of High Tech Busybodies

Yes, the plot of season 2 is similar to Sweet Revenge 1. Bullies and evil doers get punished through a mysterious revenge game on a mobile phone of the female lead. This sequel however is less fantasy, more reality. Every episode seems a day-to-day journal of young adults, their struggles in life, human dynamics. It's all about the bonding of brothers, sisters, children, parents, students, and their teachers.

The good

The cast has to play the usual suspects of school drama, but they feel authentic. No one acts over the top, the love scenes are cute, the feelings relatable. Kudos for bringing up the character of Ha Rok Hee, who's more of a real knight than the oppas in this drama. I love this kind of comedy that helps to ease the pain or tension when bullies are at work, and darker themes like corruption, abandonment, or divorce are treated lightly.

The bad

The wicked characters aren't really fleshed out in this sequel, and that's a pity. I would have loved to see more background of the bullies as well. Also there aren't many clues on the secret who's the Master of the game. Why is that? Are they planning another series to pick up that storyline? I don't know.

Rewatch Value

I've seen every episode, but I don't think I will watch this series again, unless somebody tells me there are scenes that point towards the Master of the Revenge Game. Really, this riddle is bugging me.

Overall

What I like about this drama is that human errors are easily forgiven or forgotten. Some boundaries get really tested, emotions get out of hand, but never too much, or too long. So, if you're a fan of light, slice-of-life drama and you don't have a problem with love triangles, you will be entertained.

Dream App Drama Part 2

FIRST OF ALL, LET US APPREICATE THE FACT THAT SAMUEL KIM HAS FINALLY ACTED! The characters were so well created and developed. The TENSION with Ji-na, Jae-yi, Sa-na, and Ro-bin was so g r e a t, I felt their embarrassment from where I was.

I felt like Oh Ji-na was very impulsive, and I was kind of right, if you think about it. I mean, I liked her and all, but I thought it was ridiculous to jump to wild conclusions like she did. Seo Ro-bin, I felt like punching him sometimes. It's so hard to know what he's feeling, but the epilogues at the end of the episode made his actions more sensible. Seo Jae-yi I felt was the most underrated second-male-lead ever. He got screen time, but I felt like he was just there and there was no development for his story nor character. Geum Soo-ji was wronged at the end of the show, which did make me upset. Jung Bo-ra and Ha Rok-hee were honestly unexpected friends of Ji-na. Well, maybe not Bo-ra, but definitely Rok-hee. Bae Shin-ae I felt bad for at the beginning, but she made up with Ji-na so that's good. Poor Oh Sa-na, she always got mad that something went wrong every time she fell for one of Ji-na's friends, which I found hilarious. An Mi-Nam was so innocent through this whole show, but I'm glad he started caring for his body.

This NEEDS a Season 3, I want to know how Ji-na and Ro-bin stay together. I also want to see who Sa-na ends up with. That poor girl needs a boyfriend.

And honestly, who wouldn't want an app like Revenge Note??

Thing's important to know is that Kim Samuel is here *lol

I can say that this drama have a good start. But in the middle, it starts to get boring. In every episode, Oh Jina will always use Revenge Note for revenge. Well, it isn't satisfying for me. I had hoped that in the final episode there would be something satisfying (maybe like a total karma for the antagonist)? But yeah, it didn't. It didn't even explain who made Revenge Note (or maybe is it on Revenge Note1? I haven't watched it yet kkkkk), so I can only speculate whether it is Jaeyi or Ms. Maeng. I wanted to give 7 stars, but the cute scene between Eunhee and KangDong comforted me a little. Plus the behind the scenes at the end are entertaining. AND ALSO, when Sana fell in love with Ha Rokhee lol poor Sana???
So I end give it 8 stars~

I watched the first season of this show and I really liked it. This season was even better because it was a full length drama (where the first one was a mini drama), which allowed for more character development and story lines. It's easy to think that the plot of this will be difficult to deal with since it's about revenge, and I am really not a person who thinks revenge is a good idea. However the reality of this show is that it's not really about revenge. It's about people being made to deal with the consequences of their own actions and that is something I can very much stand behind.

While the first season dealt with some issues that are not often talked about (like mental illness), this season had more common issues. However, they once again did a great job of dealing with the issue of bullying in various forms and I think that is important because in real life, not all bullying looks the same and it doesn't just happen to the "outcasts." I also really liked that they touched on things from the first season and at least started to tie up some of the questions that were left at the end of season one.

The acting is on par with what you'd expect of a show like this. The actors and actresses do a very good job. This is not a show that is meant to be high drama, it's meant to be light fare and it succeeds. Samuel, Ahn Seo Hyun, and Ji Min Hyuk are great in their roles and are fun to watch. Their friends are also a delight with special notice of Lee Ji Hyun who plays Ha Rok Hee to perfection!

The music goes well with the show, though it doesn't really stand out much.

I very much enjoyed this series and I'll probably rewatch it again at least in part.

I've watched season 1 but I haven't finished it actually, it was good though. I watched season 1 because of Kim Hyang Gi and Cha Eun Woo. And I heard that there is a season 2 and that Samuel was a cast. I knew Samuel because of Produce 101 Season 2. That is actually the main reason why I decided to watch the drama, because of Samuel. Little did I know I am slowly getting in love with the casts and most especially with the story. I fell in love to the point that I even cried when they (Ro Bin and Ji Na) confessed their feelings to each other. I think this drama has a lot of lessons that taught us. Overall it was all fantastic even though I haven't finished the drama yet. I hope that the ending will end right. I wish!

A half-assed attempt at a sequel

I'm going to come out and say it, this is not even close to the first season. The new cast doesn't get across the kind of school tension the first did, and the story isn't school drama centric either. Oh Jin-ah is too perfect of a character, which makes me hate her, especially since I know that every curveball thrown her way will be responded to the same way, and will end up in her favor. She is completely unrelatable. However, Kim Hyang-gi's Sweet Revenge was so much better, as both her acting and the story were amazing at making her relatable and sympathetic. Also, Robin and Jaeyi are very poorly executed, one-dimensional characters. In all honesty, all the characters are one-dimensional and incredibly predictable. The only character with any kind of depth is Oh Sana, as her impulsivity is relatable as hell and shows true development.

However, some characters I really loved BECAUSE of their flaws/relatable personality are as follows. Kudos to Rok-hee, ahn mi-nam, and especially Bae Shin-ae. Her arc was amazing while it existed, but she seems to just melt into the background later on, which is a huge dissapointment.
